Chapter Text
‘1 week’ turned into 3 months. That did not stop Byakuya one bit. While rebuilding the Togami mansion and the world, he would still make an attempt to visit Kyoko whenever possible.
During these visits, he would bring books for her to read, food that wasn’t the crappy hospital food, and talk about the state of the world and Byakuya’s plans, go for walks (new problem was discovered: Kyoko’s left side of her body was almost inusable; anything for Kyoko.
Outside of the Hospital, Byakuya included a room for Kyoko in his new mansion. He tried to look for things she could do, as Kyoko couldn’t leave the hospital.
—- 3 months.——
Byakuya walked into the room. The hospital staff was more than aware, they were all convinced that Kyoko and Byakuya were official. Nobody asked, however. Kyoko sat in her hospital bed, her gloomy expression now one of ‘Kyoko Joy’. There was still the IV, the hospital bracelet, and gown. Byakuya approached her bed, noting her expression.
“What’s that look for?” He inquired.
“I get discharged tomorrow.” She smiled. Byakuya couldn’t help but smile as well.
“Congratulations.”
“Oh…and one thing,” Kyoko announced: Byakuya let out a ‘hm’ sound, “I need to live with someone, their not 100% sure about the vision in my eye. I may have PTSD as well.” Byakuya jumped at the PTSD part. Regardless, the pair was already planning on living together.
“I’m sorry, PTSD?” His expression shifted to one of sorrow. Byakuya SUCKED with emotions.
Kyoko nodded. “It slightly hindered my recovery as well. I’ve experienced nightmares and night terrors. I’m on medication for them..which is helping. They’ve set me up with a therapist: and I am in the process of getting a diagnosis.” That was slightly reassuring for Byakuya…but he was still horrible with emotions. It was rough on Kyoko as well, as she hated talking about herself. Giving this information to Byakuya was a milestone.
“It’ll be alright…we’ll make due.” Byakuya assured. He honestly didn’t mind the idea of having to cuddle Kyoko back to sleep after a nightmare.
He and Kyoko continued to talk about what this resulted from. He listened intently, knowning what trouble he would get into. They talked for 3 hours, before Byakuya eventually had to leave.
“I think I need to go: I’ll prepare for your arrival. I’ll be back tomorrow.” He kissed her forehead, and started for the door.
———
Today was the day.
Byakuya preppared everything. His mansion had no staff living with him: his assistant lived on hid own, and cleaning person lived alone. He wanted to try living independently, especially knowing (he’s hoping but its me so this happens) that Kyoko would live with him.
Kyoko had her own room, not far from his personal bedroom. The room had full-wall windows overlooking the beautiful green landscape next to the mansion and 12 foot cellings. She had a closet (which Byakuya stuffed for her with clothes her size and her style), and a bed with fresh fluffy and Linen sheets. The room was on the smaller side with a connecting bathroom. The lights remained a warm and cozy color, just for Kyoko.
She would be discharged at 10 AM. He prepared a black crewneck sweater and sweatpants (just for her), along with cozy white-knit socks, and brown ugg slippers (bear with me). He prepared the clothes and put them into a bag for her. She had only that atrocious paper gown, as her clothes from the future foundation were cut.
Byakuya put the clothes into the front seat of his car, a White 2026 Mercedes Benz GLE, and then he began to drive to the hospital. He took the bag and got out, walking up to the front desk.
“Byakuya Togami. Here for Kyoko Kirigiri.” He told the receptionist, who was familiar with the face.
“You know where she’s located.”
Byakuya went up the elevator, and into room 212. He entered, where Kyoko was with her doctor. The doctor turned to Byakuya.
“Hello, you are here with Kyoko, correct?” The doctor asked.
“That’s correct,” Byakuya replied, giving the bag to Kyoko. She slowly arose from the bed, taking the bag and going into the bathroom to change. This left Byakuya to converse with the doctor about Kyoko’s recovery.
“So, she’s discharged as we know. She’s on medication for both the PTSD and overall treatments. Her eye is almost fully clear. There’s probably going to be a small purple mark in the corner of her eye, and other fain marks just on the left side. Her body is 100 percent clear of the poison, but some faint side effects are still there. The vision in her left eye is about 50 percent there…so, assist her in that when needed. I’m not sure if and or when she can drive.” The doctor explained as Byakuya listened intently.
“As for the nightmares, they occur often, around once a week. She’s in therapy, which will be once a week. She manneges pretty well, however, they can spark a panic attack.
You know her better than me, and you’ll be able to help her better than me.”
Byakuya nodded. “I appreciate it. Is she going just now?”
“Yea, once she is done changing.”
Kyoko walked out of the bathroom. Byakuya turned to her and asked, “Ready to go?” To which she gave a nod. They both started towards the car.
Kyoko hopped in the passenger seat, and Byakuya drove. The drive was peaceful, as they kept conversation lite. Byakuya mainly spoke about the new mansion’s interior.
They arrived at the estate, to which Byakuya parked in the driveway. The entered, to which Kyoko was lead around the house. She was shown the Kitchen, Byakuya’s room to get her, the Dining room, the Living room, His office, everything.
“I’ll leave you too it, rest up.” Kyoko got inti the bed, and immediately fell asleep. Kyoko would sleep for 7 hours. She slept arguebly the best in her life.
