Chapter Text
"Papa..."
"Child."
"Will he ever come back?"
"... Maybe it's for the best if he doesn't, child."
Hono's whispers in her mind eases the pain of every cut and bruise on her body. She smiles and clutches her arms in an attempt to hug herself, rocking against the floor and wall behind her in a slow manner.
"I hope mister comes back with more fun stories and friends!"
He always tell the most brilliant stories! From defeating bad people trying to take me from him to going on adventures to bring back more friends to play with me! And the gifts... not so fun. Only boring clothes and bitter candy. Yuck..
"..."
"Papa?"
"... You won't have to see them ever again, my child."
"But... Why?"
"She's here."
"She?"
Aionia's head shot up from her cradled form, eyes and semi-permanent grin wide.
Arguing... that's what she's hearing.
Followed by screaming, thrashing, and then...
"YOU SICK BITCH-! LET GO-"
A man screamed as the life fades from his eyes by the strange woman strangling him.
Aionia, bare and bloody, watched with an uncontrollable grin as the woman didn't notice the door opened, moonlight casting on both of them. Her blade shined as it slid across the man's neck, she craned it up by the tight grip on his hair.
A clean cut, followed by blood splattering all over the helpless foxian and the surface of the room.
"Mister?"
"... A girl?" The woman gasped, eyes wide and brows furrowed. Her expression scrunched up in disgust before kneeling down in front of the foxian.
"What's your name?"
"...Aionia, Aionia O."
"What a pitiful sight. A precious face and name already blood-stained." The woman scoffed more to herself than the girl, anger evident in her tone and sharp expression.
"What's your name, Miss?" The young foxian smiled, crawling closer towards the bloody woman.
"... From now on, call me.. Sister, sister Mako." She coldly introduced herself, though her actions were far from cold. Lifting her hand to pat the poor foxian's head, ruffling her hair and ears.
"O-Okay, sis Mako!"
"... Sister Mako."
"Mm-mm! Sister Mako!" Aionia cheered, smile wide and filled with glee as opposed to her empty eyes.
"I'm sorry for not being there for you, my child."
"Papa Hono, don't apologise... Big sis Mako will play with us now! And you'll take care of us forever and ever, right?"
"... I suppose."
Aionia giggled to herself after she conversed with the fox spirit in her mind, skipping hand to hand with Mako despite the several cuts and bruises on her already worn-out form.
"Is this... also a form of intimacy- or, love..?"
