The next few days went by, but Clarisse still couldn't train, but at least she could be with Silena today.
Well, not in that way, she thought, we're just friends. Clarisse just tried to ignore her thoughts, she just didn't want to spiral about this again. Clarisse went to find Silena, and went to the Aphrodite cabin.
Silena was getting ready to find Clarisse, but of course Drew just had to say something.
"So Silena, who you going to meet up with?"
"Doesn't matter," Silena said, she hated when Drew did this.
"I'm just saying that whoever it is you aren't just friends." Drew said.
"I know but I don't know how I want to bring it up, cause like I can tell that she likes me, but I don't want to make it awkward because of that, you know?"
"Yeahhh, I guess just see if she says anything."
Silena definitely wasn't going to tell anyone that she was talking about Clarisse. If they found out somehow, that's another thing. But she did not want to start something about her liking Clarisse La Rue. Silena just left the Aphrodite cabin, since Clarisse would probably be around soon.
She left the cabin, and immediately saw Clarisse walking in her direction.
"Oh hi, I was just gonna see if you were here." Clarisse said.
"Well perfect timing," she said, "Let's go get the weapons to train."
"You better not go easy on me." Clarisse said.
"Oh I'm not. Neither of us is getting the easy way out."
They got to the training grounds quickly, and got ready for some quick practice.
"Ok I know I just said I wasn't gonna go on easy on you, but you need a little armor."
"Seriously?"
"Yes, I don't want you getting more injuries, and we need an equal fight."
"Fineee," Clarisse said, and went to get the same kind of light armor that Silena was wearing. Silena was right though, she really didn't want to have to go back to the infirmary for small cuts.
"Ok best out of three." Silena said.
"Are we really going with that?"
"I said it before we started so it's fine." she replied.
"I guess that makes sense."
They began there first practice fight, and Silena was definitely right that she wasn't gonna go easy on Clarisse before. They had necer trained before, so they didn't really know what they were up for.
Clarisse noticed that Silena mainly did quick, smaller attacks, thankfully those were easy to block, but it made it harder to get in any hits. But once Clarisse got distracted for a moment, Silena took her down, and she fell.
"Damn your better than I expected," Clarisse said and got up off the ground.
"What is it because I'm an Aphrodite kid," Silena said.
"No, I just never see you training."
"Makes sense, since I'm usually in the infirmary, but I like practicing." Silena said.
The next two matches were close, but Clarisse won both.
"Okay, now you definitely have to come with me to the strawberry fields." Silena said.
"I know, I know, that's what we agreed." she replied while they both set aside their gear.
"Do you ever go to the fields?" Silena said as they started walking there.
"What do you think?"
"Yeah so that's a no," she said
"Look, I just don't know what you guys do over there."
"It's nice," Silena said, "It's actually pretty relaxing since it's less chaotic."
"I see why," Clarisse responded. "And I live in Arizona, it's too hot for most outdoor stuff, except in like winter, but in Arizona that's basically fall."
"That sucks," Silena said and grabbed a basket, "I don't always help pick strawberries, you don't have to, but I'm going to."
"I'll see what happens." Clarisse also noticed how there also wasn't that many people in the fields, especially compared to the rest of camp. It's also probably much nicer here when it's not summer and there's less campers.
"Sorry is there a counselor meeting today?" Silena asked.
"No it's okay, there shouldn't be unless something comes up. Hopefully not, I don't wanna deal with that."
"Same, I hate the random meetings, especially if I have something planned." Silena said.
The rest of their time was pretty similar, just talking, but Clarisse ended up helping Silena.
"Alright, well let me know if you wanna do this again." Silena said.
"I'll make sure to, well I'll see you later." Clarisse said.
