Summary:

Flower decides to take her mind off of
Prior events and visits a salon.

Notes:

Hey, it’s been a minute 😋

I said as the demons of my two month absence dragged me away…

No but seriously, I’ll try to be more active now!

Chapter Text

Flower stared at Match, she had been sulking for the past few days since X…did something to pencil.

A part of her wanted to approach Match, and maybe help her through her grief. However, another part of her argued that Match didn’t deserve her help after having the guts to so rudely insult her at the end of the first challenge.

She shifted uncomfortably in the grass. Flower hated feeling so conflicted. She never used to think like this during the first two contests, so why now?

Maybe it was because she was lonely.

     No.

Poor Flower had no one, she was alone.

     She’s surrounded.

Merely one object obscured by those who are more unique.

     She IS unique.

But not quite as unique as she should be.

She was snapped out of her thoughts when X walked by.

“Can you please move?” He deadpanned, looking off to the left.

Flower obliged, shifting off to the side to let him pass. However, now that he was here, it wouldn’t hurt to ask a question.

“Wait!” She exclaimed, stopping the variable in their track. They turned to look back at  her,  “…what happened to pencil?”

     X stared blankly.

     “She’s eliminated now.”

Flower wanted to question them further, but they had already snapped their fingers and disappeared.

And so, Flower  was left alone with her thoughts again

Elimination had always meant staying in a small crowded container with a bunch of losers, so surely X must’ve taken Pencil to a similar place.

     Oh well.

She stood up and brushed herself off. Dwelling on this wasn’t going to benefit her in any way, but what did sound nice was a trip to the salon.

—————————

Ruby placed the last can on the shelf. Having had to restock after the recent dye craze, she hummed to herself as she looked for more busy work.

Ruby loved her job but they just…didn’t really give her much to do.

Maybe they were trying to be nice?

Maybe it was because she was new?

It was because she never attended gem school.

She stood silently, it wasn’t a very busy day, but someone would have to come eventually.

Tick
       Tick
              Tick,
                      Ding!

After what felt like hours, someone had just entered.

Ruby spun around and smiled her friendliest smile.

     Oh,

     It was flower.

Ruby really shouldn’t have been as excited about this as she was, after all, it was to be expected, if she knew one thing about Flower, it was that she loved makeovers.

“Omg! Flower! Welcome to the Salon!” She waved her arms excitedly.

—————————

Flower stared, she knew that the salon was hiring new objects, but she didn’t think that Ruby worked there.

The small gem wore a wide smile that most objects would call unsettling, but she wasn’t like most objects.

     No.

She actually knew beauty when she saw it.

A light blush crept into her cheeks as the gem took her hand and led her to a chair.

“So, what can I do for you!”

She was so sweet, too sweet.

Too sweet for someone like flower.
