Chapter Text
Rudy comes back to earth once he is greeted by another agent that had entered the room; it's Jet. It seems like he's taking a break too.
"Yo, what's up Rudy." Jet would tap his shoulder gently and sat down beside him whilst eating Rudy would raise his brows and let out a hum in response.
Agnes noticed Jet and stopped talking for a bit to smile a little. He'd glance at Jet and waved hi toward him.
"How're ya?" he asks. There's that accent again.
Jet scoffed and rolled his eyes a bit. "you're never letting go of that accent, are you?" Jet asks. Contrary to Rudy's belief; he's not judging but is asking this time. However, the way he said it caught both parties off guard.
Rudy cleared his throat and continued to eat. It's getting quite awkward now. Agnes waved his head and let out a small hearty laughter, seriously, how does he do it? Does he not see that Jet is making fun of him? Remaining a good composure is not for the weak.
"You're a funny one!" He giggles. Jet turns to look at Rudy with a look.. it's almost as if Jet is trying to ask Rudy 'Is this guy legit?' but Rudy can't answer.
"So... Agnes. What're you going to do after lunch?" Jet asks; maybe he's picking on him a little too much. He should calm down on it. Rudy listens to the conversation attentively with the intent of finding out what happens next, he would never thought he'd be like this but curiosity got to the best of him.
Agnes hummed and pinched his lip. Jet and Rudy can see the thought process written on Agnes face; he really is an open book. The two immediately assumed the neuro agent will go for training later. "i bet he's going to train." Jet whispered and Rudy nod his head in agreement.
Agnes finally finds his answer and answered enthusiastically. "I'ma train!" as expected. Jet and Rudy glance at each other with an unamused look on their faces. "maybe with my friend here? If he's down, if not I'll go by myself then."
Jet hears the word friend referred to Rudy and stifles a laugh. Rudy can't help but look away with an uneasy look on his face.
Jet smiles wholesomely and chuckled through his teeth at that word. He gets up to leave and nudged Rudy's shoulders one last time before leaving. 'heh.. friend huh?' He whispers as he walks away. Rudy can't help the feeling of guilt lingering in his heart, is this how he really wants it to be? his brows furrow as he lifts his head to glance towards Agnes. Maybe it's about time Agnes finds out he doesn't want to be friends.
Agnes checked the time on his watch and noticed that it's already half past two! They're going to be late for training later and Agnes hates the idea of being late. He turns to Rudy, "are ya gonna come with me to training, friend?"
Rudy can't handle it anymore. He can't let Agnes misunderstand for long— "hey, listen."
the inviso agent swallowed but it's not his food. "You probably see me as a friend and I'm happy that you do but… we barely know each other to call me one. Let alone me calling you a friend." he sighed deeply. He watches as Agnes tilts his head out of curiosity.
"Well we'll learn yeah? we don't have to tug and pull this." Agnes suggested kindly. He still has that kind smile but Rudy can't take it anymore.
"I don't need to be friends. I don't need friends and especially with someone like you." Rudy snapped, his eyes clench in a way that he's never done; it's the way of guilt. He opens his eyes slowly and sees the blonde man in front of him slowly shut his mouth quietly. Agnes took this as a sign to leave before things may get out of hand.
In all honesty, Agnes is hurt— who wouldn't be? So far into his first day, he's been picked on for his accent and nobody to call a friend. If only Ali was here, but he's probably busy too and he wouldn't want to disturb a man. Agnes brushed the back of his neck and walked out of the canteen without saying anything.
Rudy looks back to where Agnes was. He's gone now — finally. It's Rudy's first time in so long to feel such a guilt for.. whatever just happened. What is this? Is he still Rudy or is he softening up again? He doesn't want to think about it. He forces himself to finish his food and lets him think about the rest of whatever just happened moments ago.
On Rudy's way to the training grounds. He sees that the new invasive therapy room is occupied. He checks the list of rooms and finds that the aquatic therapy is taken. He wonders who, and why.
