Chapter Text
After a big discussion over the weekend with one another. They made it official. Arizona and Amelia were dating. They weren't going to go public yet to see if they'd work out. If they didn't it was less explaining to do to their friends.
They carpooled to work again, Callie had Sofia and Meredith's kids took the bus, and the younger ones had a babysitter. It was nice for Arizona to be around a bunch of people that made her smile every morning. Even when Sofia wasn't there.
Amelia sat up front like normal but Arizona caught her many times turning to glance at her. It made Arizona giggle quietly.
When they got to the hospital Arizona pulled Amelia aside. "You know I'm not gonna vanish from the car if you don't look at me every five seconds right?" Arizona laughed, she was obviously teasing Amelia causing her to blush.
Amelia then spoke. "Yeah but it's hard not to look at someone so pretty!"
Arizona blushed and they both walked inside so nobody noticed they were missing or lagging behind.
They all went off to the Attending's lounge to change into scrubs and maybe grab some coffee before heading off to start their work days.
About an hour into work, Arizona got a text. She didn't check as she was working with a patient.
"Hello Anna how are we feeling this morning?" Arizona asks the seven year old.
"I'm okay doctor Robbins! Mr. tummy took the food today! It wasn't happy to, but it took the food!" Anna said with a smile.
"That's awesome! Can I see Mr. Tummy?" Arizona asks.
The girl lifts her gown to show her stomach, it has some stitches but no infections so far, Arizona seems happy with that. "Mr. tummy looks great! Anna would you like some chocolate pudding as a reward for winning against Mr. tummy? Or would you like something else?"
"YES PUDDING YAY!! MOMMY!!! DID YOU HEAR?!? I GET PUDDING!" Anna yells, her mom was sitting by the window, that yell definitely woke her up.
Arizona smile and mouthed sorry to her mom. She forgot she was asleep and how loud Anna got when she was excited, but she seemed fine. Arizona left saying goodbye to the family and finally checked her phone.
Amy ❤️
-hi!!
-sorry for bugging you during rounds.
-I just know it's flu season and some of your interns are out.
-so I wanted to make sure you aren't sick yet :)
Arizona giggled, she loved how worried she was already.

I'm not sick, I'm fine so far haha-
I just don't wanna get my patients sick though-
They've gone through enough to get here :(-
Also if you want you can sit with me and April at lunch no pressure, I know you normally don't -
Arizona put her phone away, turning the ringer off before continuing rounds. She normally didn't love the interns chit chatting but without them it was really quiet. Uncomfortably quiet. She just hoped she had her superpowers still.
Arizona was done rounding so she decided to grab a snack since she had no surgeries, she went down to the cafeteria and found Callie.
"Oh hey Arizona!" Callie said, she seemed happy.
"Hey Callie, what's up?" Arizona asked.
"Not much, just in a good mood, I hope your superpowers are intact this flu season, Sofia said she didn't wanna get sick this morning." Callie said putting some wrappers in a trash bin.
"I hope so too, I don't wanna get sick right now either" Arizona said.
Callie smiled. "I bet you'll be okay, I've got a surgery now though, see you later!" Callie walked off.
Arizona smiled. "See ya"
Arizona sat down and ate an apple, she had nothing else to do. So she checked her messages.

-sure! I'd love to!
-I saw you aren't on the OR board.
-feel free to watch my surgeries if you're bored :)
-alright got to go, talk later <3
Arizona smiled. She put her phone away and finished her apple. She wandered the halls, checked the OR board, only one peds surgery on there. That's a first. Alex took it already. So Arizona truly has nothing to do. Maybe she should visit Amelia.
Before she could could do anything though, she got paged, 9-1-1 in the ER, they needed a fetal surgeon. She rushed down to find a woman, probably around 20, whose baby was in distress in utero.
When she got there she could tell she needed to preform a c-section, so she rushed her off to the last available OR and washed up before heading in to complete the c-section flawlessly. The baby and the mother were fine, the issue was the umbilical cord was tangled around the baby's throat, thankfully the baby is fine now.
Since she's now got nothing to do again, she wandered around contemplating saying the q word just so she doesn't walk around aimlessly. She realized she didn't have to walk around aimlessly, and so she decided to write up some notes and study. She had nothing else to do anyway, so she brought it to the OR gallery Amelia was in. She watched Amelia flawlessly remove a brain tumour whilst she watched and competed patient notes and continued to work on her new phantom limb endeavour.
She was easily distracted by Amelia's perfection though and by the end of Amelia's surgery Arizona wasn't even paying attention to the work she brought to do, only Amelia.
When Amelia walked out of surgery she went up to Arizona to find her absolutely amazed by amelia, sure she'd seen her do it before and also being a surgeon herself knows a bit about stuff like this but just watching Amelia do it was so incredible to watch.
Arizona walked up and hugged Amelia. "You're incredible" Arizona said.
"Thank you Arizona" Amelia said with a huge smile on her face, quickly returning the hug.
After a moment of hugging Arizona let go smiling at Amelia. They had this look of love on one another's faces. As Arizona picked up the work she brought Amelia definitely checked Arizona out, which Arizona definitely noticed but didn't seem to care all that much.
Arizona put her notes away and Amelia just followed her around, the hospital would 100% be catching on soon with how inseparable they had became, they already were getting looks.
Regardless of what people thought they packed up and carpooled home once again, they were lucky they all had day shifts, or there would be a lot of cars to take care of daily.
