Chapter Text
Quixis stood in the worldport.
Another pillar cracked in half, broken pieces evaporating into black nothingness. Real nothingness.
Their muscles ached. Much of their body wasn’t corporeal, but that didn’t make it hurt any less. Each piece of the structure that broke off, they could feel mirrored in their own form.
Everything was being held together by a single thread. Icarus.
They stared into the yellow portal. Just peeking into the doorway, they could see everything. Every acre of every realm across their world all at once.
To anyone else the information would be a complete overload. But not for Quixis. That was their job.
More things were changing. The control they were supposed to have over it was dwindling fast. They were supposed to be fixing the anomalies, but now whenever they tried to mend them, it only spread.
The infected area was starting to grow, so they tried concentrating on the edges of the world. Far, far from where Icarus and his friends would ever see. They couldn’t know how bad things really were, how much of their world was gone.
…but if they could just get to them. Just reach them for a second it would all be worth it.
They knew they would most likely die, yes, but the power would pass on, and the remaining worlds restored.
They were the only ones in all the universes who could fix it now.
