Chapter Text

Kimi wasn’t oblivious to the fact that he was a good-looking man.

By now, he was used to being on the receiving end of some kind of light flirting. A few pick-lines here and there, or maybe some compliments thrown his way, but that was about it, never anything that could be considered even remotely serious.

As such, Kimi was yet to have been properly courted on, or at least, that was the case until today, if the box over his desk was anything to go by.

Kimi inspected the arrangement carefully, anxiously waiting for the moment something would jump out of the white container and try to scare him. A clear sign that this was nothing more than an elaborate prank, maybe from Bono or one of the mechanics he had made fun of recently.

However, the jump scare just never came.

As Kimi continued to glaze over the gift, he noted that it wasn’t signed. Much to the contrary, whoever had sent it was set on their commitment to anonymity, as even the tag was written in such a way that masked their handwriting.

An old but effective trick—Kimi acknowledged—as he read the inscription of the word Biscotti, clearly written using someone’s non-dominant hand.

Once he was done admiring the note, Kimi’s attention suddenly shifted to the sky-blue ribbon that neatly closed the box, now aware that the delicate fabric was impregnated with his secret admirer’s scent. A sweet aroma of cacao that was nothing short of inviting.

Kimi smiled unintentionally, deciding that if anything, whoever was courting him smelled really nice, especially for an alpha. They also happened to be an alpha who knew how to bake.

Before he could stop himself, Kimi took a bite out of one of the biscuits, and had to resist the urge to purr.

It was delicious.

Crispy and crunchy, ever so sweet, and filled to the brim with chocolate. Whoever had sent them had done their homework amazingly. Those were his favorites.

Kimi devoured the rest of the mouthwatering dessert and quickly closed the box, in an attempt to prevent himself from vanishing the whole thing in one sitting.

He carefully put the closed package in his bag, making sure the ribbon was seating in such a way that the scent it carried faded as slowly as possible.

Despite his best efforts, the sweets had indeed disappeared before he got even remotely close to going to bed.
