Eris' adventure in the strange halls

Chapter 2: The Threshold

Summary:

Bro is getting the full backrooms experience with this one

Chapter Text

Once I gathered myself enough to get up I realized I was actually lucky to land on the carpet; a fall from that height could have given me a concussion on tile or wood floors.

All I had on me was my notebook that I took everywhere, my phone, and the book I’d been reading.

Certainly not the best explorer’s tools, but they’d have to do for now.

I started walking, writing down any shift in the landscape.

The first shift came in the form of pillars rather than walls, I could probably see for miles here.

More importantly than the unending view, the carpet was noticeably thinner, so thin it didn’t squelch when I stepped on it like everywhere else.

I figured the best way to deal with this place would be to walk for a while in a straight line, then stop to look around and only leave my line if I saw something interesting.

After what must have been hours of walking I saw it, a room covered in holes.

I ran to it and just as I saw, the whole floor was just holes.

I of course had to test how deep they were, but with nothing heavy enough to make a sound when it hit the bottom that I was willing to give up, I had no choice but to punch through a wall.

The walls here are surprisingly durable, but eventually I got a chunk off and tossed it down the hole.

I stood there for a while, then eventually sat down and never heard it hit the ground.

Concluding that I’d found a room of bottomless pits I noted that in my journal and turned to go back to the pillars.

When I turned back, the pillars were gone.

Completely gone, no trace of them.

Replaced with the same halls I’d fallen into when I first came here.

I of course also had to write that down, changing terrain was interesting and I’d love to share my findings with anyone I meet down here.

I quickly recovered and got back to walking until I saw a strange wall.

It’s hard to explain but it’s like the wall existed one second, and then it didn’t.

When it didn’t exist it’s not like I could see behind it, but just that it wasn’t there.

I’m not exactly sure what I saw when the wall wasn’t there, like I said it’s hard to explain.

Anyway, I chipped off another section of the wall and tossed it through, which is how I found out there was a through at all.

The chunk of wall disappeared and I heard a quiet thunk on the other side, which I of course had to follow.

As I jumped through I landed on a concrete floor, not exactly comfortable but much better than the gross carpet covering the previous area I was in.

Notes:

Eris is completely fine right guys?
