Chapter Text
After their "talk" with Parrot, Lomedy and Flame sat in their base which was half-destroyed by Wemmbu. They just stared at each other silently. They had left Cindercrest after how their talk went with the King. Lomedy was silent...too silent. Flame knew the reason for his silence, guilt. He stood up from the stone he was sitting on and dusted himself off. Then he walked over to Lomedy who was staring at the ground like it owed him money as he leaned tensely against the wall. "Lom." he said gently then put his left hand, the one that wasn't constantly on fire on Lomedy's shoulder. Lomedy feels the warmth radiating from Flame and notices his presence even before he put his hand on his shoulder. He sighs softly. "i am fine..." he mutters, the warmth coming from Flame calming his senses.
"don't lie to me or i'll kick your ass" Flame says jokingly, trying to lighten the mood. Lomedy sighed again then pushed himself off the wall and turned to Flame. "just tired." he muttered as he leaned his head to Flame's shoulder, the warmth making him sweat slightly. It didn't matter right now though. He needed his friends comfort. "are you sure? i know you feel guilty Lom...don't worry Parrot will forgive you" the blaze-hybrid says as he wraps his left arm around the farmer, his right arm resting against his side to not burn his friend by accident.
"its not about Parrot...its about all the people i killed just for what? another tyrant's empty promises? i-i don't understand how stupid i was to fall his lies...i really believed Saps and hurt innocent players. Parrot was right...everyone deserved to live and i was just selfish" Lomedy says, his voice shaky and muffled against Flame's shoulder. Flame feels his heart ache, Lomedy was too pure for all this drama. It wasn't his fault that people were manipulative. "its okay. It'll be a lesson for you, no? everyone makes mistakes"
Lomedy shakes his head "you are not wrong but i just- whatever. I-i have a plan in mind." the Blaze-hybrid looks down to the farmer and raises an eyebrow. "what is it?" Lomedy answered without raising his head, "i want to go back to my farm and-" his words were cut off when someone landed a mace on Lomedy and popped his totem.
hours ago
Saparata was pacing around his room. Flame just came to him and told that they were leaving Cindercrest then even had the audacity to throw his shield at him and storm off! -which the reason being Saparata acting superior to Flame and ordering him to join back making Flame mad but the Commander would never admit that- Flame was powerful, REALLY powerful and Saparata knew that he needed Flame in this hopefully last war. It angered him to no end that Flame left without a reason -definetly he didn't try to explain his reasons to Saps and Saps didn't ignored his words, definetly-
Saparata let out a annoyed sigh as ShoeBilly entered the room and sees how annoyed Saps is. The stupid avian laughed at Saps' annoyance, "why are you pouting there? Don't be so grumpy" Saps snapped at him, "shut up! that stupid Flame left Cindercrest. We needed him for the war!" Billy just laughed more, ignoring the problem for his entertainment, "is it really that much of a problem? we can do it without him you know?" Saps took a deep breath to calm himself down -which did not worked at all- "look, i know you have ego and all but if you do not realize, Flame is the strongest person! even his presence was alone to scare Parrot away!"
Billy shook his shoulders, "you stress too much Sappy. We'll be pretty fine without mr.strongest. Parrot already lost half of his army"
Saps felt like he was gonna loose it and strangle the avian, "you think the problem is Parrot? oh you moron! just fucking go and find Flame- ah and don't call me Sappy!" Billy just rolled his eyes, "sure" he said the word 'e' dragged-out. "don't tell me anything, sure. I'll go get mr.strongest. Dont you worry Sappy" he dragged-out the 'y' too as he put his elytra on and flew away from the window. Saparata sighed in annoyance. "whatever..." he muttered then hoped Billy can get Flame back.
Flame quickly pushed Lomedy back behind him then held out his sword towards the intruder, ShoeBilly. "what the heck do you think you are doing?" Flame said through gritted teeth. Billy just grinned, "Saps wants you back, Flame. Come with me or your friend dies" Flame's grip on his sword became tighter until his knuckles turned white, "i thought i made my point to Saps. We are not coming back.", "we? oh yeahh the mace guy was apart of us, i forgot. we don't need him anyways we just need you Flame" Billy said as he twirled the mace in his hand, possibly trying to be intimitading.
Lomedy had another relaziton when Billy said those things. They didn't saw him as a person not a trusted soldier. Just a guy with the mace. He now understand what Flame meant by 'people see me as just a weapon, you don't and i am grateful to that', he understood that time too but now he understand the feeling too. He hid behind Flame, trying to stay away from Billy's sight. He knew the avian can kill him easily. He didn't want to die. He wanted to live a peaceful life ahead of him, after all that war thing and the chaos. He just wished to be a farmer again.
Wished he never befriended Flame nor that diamond player back then- He shook his head and scolded himself. No, he can't think like that, not after everything...yeah befriending them brought trouble but he did not regret it, not even a bit. He was just feeeling scared and that was the reason of his thoughts. He wasn't selfish- he wanted the good for all people. The farmer's body started trembling, maybe from fear of death or from the fear of his own thoughts. He had been blacked out for the whole conversation Flame and ShoeBilly had. Flame talked about how unfair Cindercrest was being, judging Parrot without knowing anything and how they used him without a thought of his wellbeing, he understand that much before his thoughts swallowed him again.
Lomedy remembered the time invis mafia was still a thing, he remembered his old friend. He remembered the times the old diamond player protected him. The mace...it was his until his death...Lomedy felt a pang of sadness, the mace was the last thing he had from his past friend...and it was also the reason Cindercrest accepted him...not as the farmer he is, just the guy with the mace. It was all his fault, he had no right to blame his dead friend for leaving him something to protect himself. Lomedy was the reason this was happening and he had no right to blame Flame for it too...he felt disgusted by his own selfishness. Another flood of memories his him, all the times Flame and his old teammate protected him with the mace. Maybe- maybe he can be useful for once and help Flame fight ShoeBilly. He didn't wanted violence but he already shed too much blood just because of his own blindness, his naivety. He just needed to shed one last person's blood and then he would leave it all behind and go back to his farm. He loved Flame but he didn't want to drag him to a world he didn't belonged neither he wanted to be dragged to Flame's world filled with battles, which he did not belong
Lomedy clears his mind from the overwhelming thoughts and memories then notices Flame and ShoeBilly had started fighting. He breathed in...and out, in and out then he used a wind charge to jump up, both of the fighters hadn't noticed him, too caught up in their own fight until Lomedy landed on ShoeBilly, popping the avian's totem. The other two was shocked from Lomedy's sudden attack but they recovered quickly. Billy grinned like this was entertaining, Flame panicked, Lomedy was not suitable for fights even with his mace. He shouted, "Lomedy! run! i'll take care of him, you are gonna die!" he said as he ran to his friend, at the same time as ShoeBilly flies up for macing. Billy dives down quickly, targeting Lomedy. Flame pushes the farmer away and Billy lands the mace on him instead, popping another totem. Flame didn't lost a second to put down a cart and blowing it up, popping both of their totem.
Lomedy watched the exchange like time had stopped, he thought Billy had ran out of totems and jumped with a wind charge, before he could land the hit, Billy flied up but this time Lomedy acted faster, holding Flame by his arm and dragging him away as Billy landed on the empty spot they stood before. Flame glanced at Lomedy once, "Lom, please, go, leave. I can handle this on my own!" he whisper-shouted to Lomedy as he ran towards Billy and started critting him out before the avian flied, AGAIN. Flame was ready to cart again when Billy landed on him, he blocked the attack with shield and put down another cart, lighting it. Unfortunately, the avian flied before the explosion. "come down! you are not even fighting for real!" Flame shouted then send a desprate glance to Lomedy. Silently begging him to leave. Lomedy shook his head at Flame, no he cannot, he cannot leave another of his friends to death. Flame was strong yeah but Lomedy knew he was weaker against people like ShoeBilly who uses an elytra to fight, Flame said it himself. The blaze-hybrid needed his help, atleast Lomedy thought like that.
Billy and Flame kept figthing, Flame carted Billy and critted him out when he was on ground and Billy contiunesly tried to mace Flame. Lomedy looked for an oppening to step in and help Flame but the two was fighting at a pace Lomedy cant keep up. they both popped more totems, well that wasn't Billy's last totem it seems, Lomedy thinks then he sees an oppening, they both forgot about him and went to corners in order to restock. Lomedy took the opportunity and wind charged up, Billy heard the sound and ran away before Lomedy can land a hit. "ohh, finally decided to be useful again? Not gonna matter, you are really bad at mace. Let me show how its done." the avian said as he flied up, Flame heard the words panicking even more, he rushed to Lomedy but he was far away from then and Billy was faster, Billy landed the hit with a disgusting grin on his face.
Lomedy didn't have a totem to protect him and no time to raise his shield.
His skull crushed against ShoeBilly's heavy mace. His death being announced in chat.
Lomedy was smashed by ShoeBilly
Lomedy left the game
Flame froze as he stared ad the sight in front of him, the fires on his arm right arm spreaded towards his shoulder, intensfying more and more. The flames on his arms reflected his emotions, mostly anger. ShoeBilly turned his head to the Blaze-hybrid who was trembling with anger, the fires covering his forearm was starting to cover his whole right arm, growing wilder every second. The avian could feel the warmth it radiates, it was not a comfortable warmth like a campfire no, it was enough to burn someone alive if they come too close to it. Billy started to sweat, either from the warmth or from fear. "i guess you aren't coming...well i do not plan to fight an angry FlameFrags. But know that i made you a favor by killing that farmer. He was a dead weight anyways. He slowed you down and weakend you." The arrogant avian said before running -flying away in fear.
Flame was lost in intense emotions and had no elytra so he couldn't chase the avian. It wasn't a problem, he knew where he and Cindercrest was anyways...he will find him, kill him then destroy Cindercrest. He slowly walked up to his
friends corpse, his eyes burned as he knelt down, slowly collecting Lomedy's items absent-mindedly. He hadn't felt this feeeling since the things happened in the mist. This time Lomedy was dead, for real. He had lost his friend for what? He put down an empty shulker, a yellow one and started filling it with Lomedy's items. He would atleast treasure his friend's items...since he had no time to treasure their friendship.
While putting the items to the sulker, trying to avoid seeing the corpse- he knew he can't handle the sight, he paused on the mace. His hand trembled as he gently placed the mace. After a minute he finished stashing the items. He put the shulker in his enderchest then stood up then he slowly untied his blindfold -he could see through it anyways, it was just for aesthetic then placed it over the body gently and closed his eyes. Letting his thoughts drift through memories, memories of the past.
Lomedy died because he wasn't strong enough to kill Billy. He thought letting Lomedy do as he wishes would bring the farmer hapiness...well it didn't not when they were in a literal war. Maybe- maybe he shouldn't have went to Lomedy's farm back when law was at his back...he could have probably do fine on his own. Maybe then his friend would be happy...just farming in peace. It was all Lomedy wished, before Flame, before Law. He took the blindfold back and put it on again. Lomedy never saw his eyes, showing them meant vulnerabilty and Flame didn't liked being vulnerable. But now, he just wishes he did. He wished he made more good memories with his friends. Flame wished for a lot of things, too much if's. It was too late. He was solo, again. And maybe it was good.
He turned away and walked out of their base.
It wasn't the time to mourn, he is gonna get revenge first. Lomedy wouldn't want him to go on another killing spree just for him.
It was a pity Flame was like this...his hands were already stained blood and he didn't feared staining it more.
The body dissappeared behind Flame as he made his way to Cindercrest's base. Maybe in another universe...they would farm in peace again...
