Chapter Text

Closed Ocean.

His eyes groggily opened.

He looked over the place taking it in, a hallway, all he could make out the place was too dark for him to figure anything else out, the floor felt strangely warm, almost like human skin.

He got up, looking down at his body, only to realize that it's a black silhouette now. Not that he ever cared much about it.

He placed his hand on the wall, trying to hold onto it for balance, before recoiling from disgust after realizing the wall had a human eye on it.

'The hell?..'

He hurried to the end of the flesh hallway, don't give mind to the unblinking eyes on the walls.

He was stopped short upon finding a door in the end of the hallway.

His hand lingered on the door knob for a second too long, he twisted it open, finding himself on a deserted island on the middle of the ocean.

He took the scenery in, it was raining heavily, he could hear the thunder far away, the ocean looked never ending..

He kept walking, reaching a empty dock, the wood on it felt unstable on his feet, he actually couldn't tell if it was his nervousness playing tricks on him or the wood was actually unstable.

He took a glance back, realizing the door was gone.

'Is this hell? Purgatory?.. Would it make sense to be either?'

He looked down on the ocean.

'...'

That itch. It wasn't physical, it was like a mental itch, something scratching and pleading to his brain, he was normally cast it aside, if he was able to.

This one was different, he was sure of it, it wasn't that itch, it was like something was calling him instead.

He once again glanced back, before returning his gaze to the ocean, he crouched near the end of the dock, sitting down on the edge.

He dipped his toe on the water.

'Cold.'

He then submerged himself into the ocean.

It surprised him when his vision hadn't gotten blurried once submerged into the water. He took a small look around, his eyes landing on the convenient lanterns in the water, that conveniently shaping a path.

'Okay.. I guess.'

Following the lanterns his eyes landed on a few interesting things.

Specifically the fact of the head of a statue.

It was the statue of a umamusume, he just couldn't find the name of it, worse of all it felt like it was on the tip of his tongue..

He shrugged it off, continuing to follow the path, he had found two more heads of umamusume statues. How long had he been swimming? More than a minute, that he was sure, he was actually surprised that he hadn't gone up to breath at all.

He passed the final lantern, coming up from the ocean he was met with another island, this one seemingly bigger.

He left the water, looking up to the sky noticing that it wasn't raining anymore, the sun or was it the moon?..
Either way it was replaced with a eclipse. He looked around the shore, his eyes landing on the forest behind him. It was foggy, foggy enough he could only see the trees infront of him, not that he gave much mind to it.

He took a glance to his left, before walking along the shore.
It was small changes at first, trees not being where they were supposed to be, before it began being more obvious, holes in the ground that lead to an unnerving fall to the darkness.

He kept walking, not like it was gonna end anytime soon.
He kept walking,
He kept walking,

The naive soul lost in thought, just like when he was alive, falling onto the holes that were growing in size. The realization of his mistake making him brace himself for an impact, was he gonna splatter onto the floor? Was he just gonna stay there falling?

He hit water, he submerged into the water, deeper and deeper inside.

He noticed a hand.

It was made of stone, pointing it's finger to him. Was it of those statues? He wasn't sure, but something itched in him to touch the finger.

𝘎𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘪𝘯.

He listened, extending his hand and finger touching the broken hands finger.

How painful.

It was like his body was twisting into something else, to accommodate someone else.

It was like his insides went from unmoving to pumping nonstop, like he just had won a race, like them.

𝘚𝘰 𝘮𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘦𝘯𝘷𝘺.

Right. Expectations, nothings truly free.

It's blinding.
So bright, too bright.

He opened his eyes. He was back inside his bathroom. He looked over to the mirror.

Wait.. What.

In the mirror was a umamusume, not 𝘩𝘪𝘮..

She had light chestnut hair, with a white mark across her hair in the middle, she seemed like she was 5'9.

The umamusume on the mirror followed his movements, he moved his hands, she moved hers, he pinched his cheek. 'Ow.'
She pinched hers.

He felt something flick on top of his head, reaching it, he realized it was a umamusume ear..

'What the fuck..'

He noticed his tail wagging rapidly, he was wearing what looked like a hospital gown.. Huh.

He wiggled his legs confirming his thoughts about it being gone.

His ears flicked again, picking up a sound. Footsteps.

Wait.. Oh fuck.

He looked to the door, the bathroom door creaking open, before it fully opened.

"Who are you..?"
