Zanka’s first alarm went off, one of the 10 he had set the evening before. It was only 5:30 in the morning because he had forgotten to ask what time class started and chose to play it safe. He was up and dressed in the brand new school uniform before his second alarm went off five minutes later.

Zanka silenced that alarm and turned off all but one. He left the 6:00 alarm on so he could wake up Jabber, who, no doubt, was not awake yet.

He still had to comb and style his hair, so he headed into the bathroom to use the mirror. There were all of the basic necessities lined on the sink: a toothbrush, toothpaste, a comb, etc. These UA people seemed prepared to have new students, even though their current students make it obvious that him and Jabber being enrolled late was definitely not a regular occurrence.

Zanka was fully ready to start the day by 5:45. Rather than just sitting around, Zanka picked up Lovely Assistaff and began cleaning her with a slightly damp hand towel. He made sure to clean every little grain of dirt. He was shocked out of his concentration when the ‘Wake up Jabber’ alarm went off.

After gently leaning Lovely on the wall by the door, Zanka made his way across the hall to bang on Jabber’s door. He heard a distant thunk and clamoring before Jabber yanked the door open.

Jabber looked disheveled to say the least. His hair was frizzy and half of it was hanging in his face, his shirt was wrinkled and hanging off of one shoulder. He also had deep purple eye bags, practically matching with Eraserhead.

“Did ya’ sleep at all last night? Ya’ look like yer dead.” Zanka taunts, poking at Jabber's hand that’s holding the door.

“And you would know what that looks like how?” He must have been really tired. Usually his comebacks were way better than that.

Zanka rolled his eyes at Jabber, dropping his hand back to his side. “You should get ready, there should be uniforms in the closet.”

“Yeah I noticed that last night, kinda weird that they’re perfectly sized. All these people got crazy powers.” Jabber commented with an excessive stretch and yawn. He shook himself like a dog, which seemed to wake him up.

“Are you staying for the show or what?” Jabber asked as he wandered over to his closet, giving Zanka a look over his shoulder. Zanka slammed the door, his face turning pink.

He huffed and leaned on the wall beside Jabber’s door. He waited for five long minutes before knocking on Jabber’s door again. “Are ya’ ready yet?”

“No jackass, you just woke me up, give me a minute!” Jabber was apparently not a morning person. Honestly, Zanka was not surprised, he always seemed like more of a night owl.

“Ok, jeeze. Just hurry it up so we can get some food before classes!” Zanka yelled through the door.

He stepped back into his own room to grab Lovely. He would never forget her. He wouldn’t even leave her leaning against an unsupervised wall, not after Rudo snatched her without even noticing her beauty.

Jabber was finally ready after like fifteen minutes. It was almost 6:20 when they made their way to the common room. Zanka had noticed the large kitchen the night before, and wandered over to see what food they had in the fridge.

There was a wide variety of what Zanka thought may be fruits. There was a ton of food he had never seen, it was all so colorful. He stared at it for at least a minute, which was starting to creep Jabber out.

“What’s up Mr Bad Attitude?” Jabber shoved him to the side to get a look in the fridge. “Ohh I wanna try it all! That one looks spicy!”

Jabber grabbed a bell pepper out of the fridge and bit into it. He was very disappointed that it was not in fact spicy. Zanka mockingly laughed at him before grabbing something out of the fridge himself. He had grabbed an apple, which he had recognized from his time at the Hell Guard Academy.

Other students slowly wandered into the common room while they were eating. Some of them said good morning while the rest clearly were not awake yet. An hour passed before everyone was in the common room. A few were making their own breakfast and the rest were yelling at the blonde kid, Bakugo, to make them breakfast too. Apparently he was the in-house cook.

Twenty minutes passed before anyone started leaving the dorm. Neither Zanka nor Jabber had any clue where their first class was, so Zanka found and asked Momo.

”Could ya’ show us the way to class? We’re still a little lost here..” Jabber rolled his eyes at Zanka’s formality, and slung his arm across Zanka’s shoulders. Jabber gave Momo a big smile and fake puppy dog eyes.

“No problem! I was heading that way anyways. It’s this way.” Momo started walking towards the main building. Zanka mentally noted all of the turns they took, trying his best to memorize the way to their class. They entered a room that had a huge sign that just said 1-A on it.

“We’re here! We always start with Mr. Aizawa.” Momo explained while walking up to the door. Zanka held the door for her, and shut it on Jabber.

“Yo what was that about Zan-Ka? Jealous I’ve got better hair today or something?” Jabber opened the door and looked mildly offended.

“Ya’ wish, yer hairs all frizzy.” Zanka bit back. The green haired kid and Todoroki or something like that were staring at them. Izuku was muttering to himself while the other one looked like he had just zoned out.

“You two are sitting right here.” Aizawa said from his desk, pointing to the very center of the room. Interesting spot, Zanka would have thought he would put the new students in the front.

“Alrighty!” Jabber dragged Zanka by the pinky finger to their seats, shoving Zanka into his before settling in his own spot.

Zanka glared at Jabber, unable to shove him back immediately. Jabber smiled back at him, looking very smug.

“Class has started! Take your seats!” Iida was at the front of the classroom, running it like a teacher should. This school's traditions sure are strange.

“Today we have practical lessons with All Might! And don’t forget to change into your gym clothes!” Aizawa was just sitting behind his desk, looking like he was about to fall asleep. “Tomorrow we work with the support students to improve things on your hero costumes, so have any ideas noted down ahead of time!”

Hero costume? Must be similar to the cleaners uniform, personalized but practical. The students talked amongst themselves for about ten minutes before a bell rang. Shortest class Zanka had ever attended.

Everyone was heading in the same direction, so Zanka and Jabber just went along with them. They ended up in a locker room with labeled lockers.

“Hey look Zan-Zan! They’ve already got one for us!” Jabber grabbed Zanka by the wrist and dragged him over to a pair of lockers. Next to them was a guy with a bird shaped head and a very strange looking shadow.

Zanka opened up his locker to see a blue uniform with white stripes. The same thing was in Jabber’s locker. They were tailored to fit them perfectly which was odd, but not surprising.

Both Zanka and Jabber were quick to change, but the rest of the group wasn’t. The little purple guy who greeted them the day before was yelling about something near the far wall. Sharing a look, the two newbies wandered their way over there.

“You know what’s on the other side of this wall! The girls locker room! And look, there’s a hole!” The little purple punk lifted a paper on the wall to reveal a hole about the width of a pencil.

Zanka shared a disgusted look with Jabber, who returned a similar one. Why would you want to look at girls changing? Not only was it morally wrong, but it would make them feel uncomfortable and unsafe. The Hell Guard had drilled basic decency into Zanka from a young age, anything else is just plain wrong.

“Knock it off Mineta!” One of the other guys yelled. Zanka couldn’t tell who it was, because he had grabbed Mineta's arm and pulled it away from the wall. Jabber, who seemed to agree with him on this, was putting tape over the hole. Zanka didn’t question where the tape had come from. Jabber has his ways.

“Have some respect! Perverts have no place becoming heros.” Zanka practically threw the midget to the side, scowling at him. “A hero must make people feel safe, not like they need to hide. That is the job of a villain.” Zanka’s accent got really strong when he was pissed, and he was PISSED.

Jabber grabbed Zanka by the collar of his shirt. “I’m supposed to be the crazy one! You gotta turn it down a notch or he’s gonna melt!” Jabber whisper yelled in Zanka’s ear. Zanka almost laughed, but that would boost Jabber’s ego too much so he suppressed it.

“Grow up.” With that last little comment to Mineta Zanka and Jabber walked back over to their lockers. Red spiky hair followed them, along with a couple others.

“You’re so manly!” Red spiky hair…. Kirishima, said.

“Thanks..?” It just seemed like common sense to Zanka. Women are in no way inferior to men, many are so much stronger. They deserved to be treated equally if not better. His sister had taught him that, and if Hyo did one thing it was prove that women can be stronger.

“Your hair’s sick dude! How’d ya get it like that!” Jabber reached out and touched one of the spikes. Zanka slapped his hand down, making Jabber yelp dramatically. “What was that-“

“Let’s go! Class starts in one minute!” Iida yells from a door on the far side of the locker room. Everyone starts hustling out, creating a bit of a bottleneck at the door. Mineta still looked shaken up, which was totally deserved.

They burst out into the bright light of a training arena looking thing. There were huge buildings in the middle of it and a big observation tower. Right in the middle of it was the super tall guy with antenna hair, All Might.

“I AM HERE!” This guy tells way too much. “DO YOU REMEMBER YOUR FIRST TRAINING CLASS! WE ARE GOING TO DO THE SAME THING AGAIN TO SEE HOW MUCH YOU HAVE IMPROVED!”

That wasn’t very informative.

“FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE NEVER DONE IT BEFORE I’LL EXPLAIN. WE PAIR YOU UP AND ONE PAIR IS THE VILLAINS AND ONE IS THE HEROS. THE VILLAINS ARE PROTECTING A FAKE EXPLOSIVE IN THE BUILDING, WHILE THE HEROS TRY TO TOUCH IT! THE HEROS DONT KNOW WHERE IT IS AND PAIRS ARE RANDOM! UNDERSTAND?”

“Yep!” Jabber looks so tiny next to this guy, it’s almost laughable.

“How are the pairs chosen?” Zanka mostly understands, it seems a little childish though.

“WE PULL NAMES OUT OF A BOX!”

And they do just that. There are a lot of pairs, and by some play of fate Zanka ends up stuck with Jabber. This will both benefit and cripple them. For one, they understand each other's strengths and weaknesses, but Jabber also can’t go twenty seconds without making some crude comment.

“AND OUR FIRST PAIR IS…. TEAM B AND TEAM F!” Well… that’s that. Zanka and Jabber vs… Bakugo and Uraraka! With Jabber and Zanka as the villains. Zanka couldn’t help the wave of giddy anticipation that washed over him. He would never admit it to Jabber, but he itched to fight nearly as much as the maniac.

I

Everyone watched with anticipation as the ‘Hero’ team walked into the building. There were cameras everywhere, but no sound. Jabber and Zanka seemed to be coming up with some sort of plan because they were standing together right next to the fake explosive.

Kakchan and Uraraka split up, and Kakchan was going the right way to run straight into the right room. As they were doing this Jabber had left Zanka alone in the room and wasn’t visible on any of the cameras. Izuku had no idea how he had managed to hide himself so well that none of the thousand motion detection cameras had seen him yet.

Bakugo was nearly in the room, and Zanka activated his quirk. It was so cool! His eyes started glowing and his stick seemed to transform. It grew to like twice the length and got all spiky at the top. “I wonder if the spikes have some kind of effect? Or does the transformation also alter Zanka’s strength?” Tsu elbowed him lightly. “Was I mumbling? Sorry!”

Bakugo started firing rapid explosions like bullets. It was one of his newest and most powerful moves. Izuku couldn’t halo but feel bad for Zanka, his first spar being against Bakugo. “Holy shit!”

Izuku had zoned out! What did he miss? He looked up at the screen and there was Zanka. Unscathed. Beside him was a panting Bakugo, who had used a move that takes a lot of energy and a lot of his sweat. How had Zanka dodged the explosions? They had a speed that was nearly the same as a bullet, and the power of a firework!

Bakugo was obviously not going to give up. Instead of using a small, contained blast, he was going to go for a large powerful explosion. As he was lifting his hand, Zanka moved. Fast, really really fast. He had hit Bakugo in the side with his stick, and Bakugo went flying into the wall. He smashed into it and Izuku could feel his ribs break. The whole room sucked in a breath, watching Bakugo.

They watched as Zanka walked up to Bakugo, pinning him to the wall with the crescent part of the staff. This cut off Bakugo’s airways, but Bakugo wouldn’t give up. He stuck out his arm and hit Zanka in the shoulder with a very concentrated, extremely powerful explosion. It shot all of the way through Zanka’s shoulder, leaving a small hole that would definitely scar. Zanka didn’t even flinch. He held the staff until Bakugo passed out from a lack of air, taking hit after hit of non lethal explosions.

Everyone was flabbergasted. Izuku thinks one of the main reasons Bakugo lost was that he hadn’t started with all out, he had given the enemy time to figure out his power, and in that lost his advantage. Also Zanka’s speed! You could barely see him, and these cameras were the highest quality.

Everyone was quiet until Kaminari broke the silence. “Look! Uraraka found Jabber!”

It looked more like Jabber found her. He leapt down from the ceiling behind Uraraka, pouncing on her like a wildcat. He had the same speed as Zanka, but seemed a little more frantic. His claws were huge, and his eyes were glowing just like Zanka. Their quirks seemed really similar, both having glowy eyes, the transformation, a little haze of color around them…

Focus, Izuku! Watch the fight now, make a whole new notebook dedicated to their quirks later!

Jabber was floating, which means Uraraka was able to touch him! Jabber looked annoyed and excited all at once. It was kinda strange, but Izuku didn’t have much time to think about it. Jabber grabbed the nearest wall with his claws, dragging himself towards it. Uraraka was running towards him, probably aiming to do some form of martial arts on him while he weighed nothing.

Jabber used the wall to launch himself at Uraraka, lightly scratching her arm with his claws. He could have hit her a lot harder, why didn’t he aim for some point that would at least slow her down? He totally lost his advantage. Uraraka was turning to face him, and reached out to grab his arm. She was probably going to throw him into the ground.

Jabber turned back towards her and said something, looking completely unbothered.

Uraraka collapsed. She just fell. She lay on the ground and didn’t move. Jabber squatted next to her, he seemed to be explaining something. The speakers, in both the practice building and the observation tower, said “Team F wins!”
