Chapter Text

Vi knows she has been drowning. Pulled under by the immense weight of her sealed up emotions so as she feels Caitlyn's reassuring hands run through her hair whispering gentle words of comfort the odd feeling of some of that weight shifting - not gone, it may never truly be gone- she's shocked.

"I don't want to tell you it’s okay, because it’s not. But I want you to know you don't have to shoulder this all alone baby. It's going to be slow work but together we can deal with it. You are so brave, you are not weak or less than for feeling. For not being able to solve everything in one day like I know you want to. It shows how you care so so much and i'm sorry this is something you have been dealing with alone for so long. I am annoyed but nothing will be annoying enough to drive you away from me. Im angry you lied but I understand so I’m not angry at you. I'm not going anywhere, you can relax, you're not alone anymore"

Vi feels her mind quiet slightly with the rise and fall of Caitlyn's chest beneath her - when she moved to sit this close Vi cant recall-

"Next time you feel any, and I really mean any of that, please come and get me instead of drinking. It doesn't matter if i'm asleep, working mid fight for heavens sake! I don't care, you can always get me, and don't you dare feel guilty because I know for a fact you would do the same for me. You are none of the horrible ways you think of yourself, and I will help you see that."

Vi can only stare at her, eyes wide, too tired from the excessive emotional turmoil to respond. But regardless she wouldn't have a clue how to respond to something so bluntly close to a declaration of love anyways. They are yet to say it to each-other but Vi feels the love so strongly that she doesn't need to hear it.

"And... I know its an addiction, I know there's going to be setbacks or relapses. And that's fine just please don't hide them from me. I'm not expecting you to be suddenly perfect after one conversation, that's not healthy or realistic. You shouldn't feel ashamed either. Its an addiction, getting better is going to be hard."

As Vi stares at Caitlyn she only has one last thing to say,

"But I'll be fine, we'll be fine?"

"I promise"

Vi is no longer droning, shes not at the surface, but shes swimming again.
