Chapter Text

Slight was standing at a slot machine, humming lightly. It was dramatic, overly colourful, and so were the other slot machines. It was probably made up of shitty plastic, though it was hard for Ire to tell. They hadn't seen any material like this in its domain. Slight fiddles with the buttons idly, not noticing Ire come up behind her– or, well, pretending to not notice– until a prompt comes up on the screen. "Oh!"

Written in a bright red and a lowercase font that stuck out from the tacky golden background with fake-looking digital coins and random colours. It was very obviously sin's words.

If only Ire bothered to learn how to read.

It never really needed to. What was there to read? Safety instructions? The more dangerous, the better.

So, as Slight hummed and nodded, Ire could only watch. She glances at Ire for a split second, then closes the popup.

"Isn't that neat? Really ups the ante a little," she remarks, chuckling lightly. Ire only grumbles in response. "Even sin itself thinks I don't belong here."

What? "Well, duh. What do you have to do with me?"

"Hm, I don't know," Slight hums, only pissing Ire off more. They fiddle with the controls, doing something on the machine, but Ire barely cares enough to pay attention. "I suppose nothing. Nothing except the liking I've taken towards you."

That disgusting feeling. Ire gags. "Blegh. Ew. Never say that to me again." It looks away and crosses its arms as Slight laughs.

"sin is so mean to me. Yours wasn't even so bad," Slight continues, and Ire pauses for a second. She presses a button, and the slots begin rolling. "But I like a good risk. Ha."

She loses. The screen turns a comical red with blacks, and Slight sighs. "Oh. So close."

"What even is the appeal of this?" Ire glares at the colourful screen as Slight presses the button again, this time rolling much faster.

"Well, I need to make back what I lost, don't I?" she hums.

She fiddles with the machine even more wordlessly, and Ire scoffs. They can't make out what she's doing with all those symbols and colours. She presses the button again, and Ire notices a vial disappear from her briefcase. "You bet your drugs?"

"Yup," Slight responds. She loses again, and sighs. "Not of my own volition, you know, since sin chose it for me. But it works, doesn’t it?"

"Uh-huh."

Slight doesn’t move from the losing screen. She suddenly feels a little more antsy. "Did you see what I lost?"

"Um," Ire glances back at the briefcase, with a noticeably empty spot where the vial had disappeared from. "I don't know. It was a small vial with a pink liquid, I think."

"Shit," Slight laughs, and her voice sounds strained. "Okay. Fuck. Is that all?"

"I didn't care enough to see."

"Thank you anyways. That's nice to know," with that, she presses the button again. Ire can tell, because another drug disappears. This time, a whole bag of pills.

"You just lost your bag of pills."

"The circular ones? In the poly bag?"

"Yeah."

"Fffuck. Haha. Should've known."

Well, she did know, didn't he? There were plenty of other bags of pills in her briefcase, Ire just couldn't care enough to specify …

Slight wins this time. The pink vial triples, and reappears.

"The pink one's back."

"Thank fuck. Good lord," Slight laughs again. "Can you pass me one?"

Ire huffs, but does as told, tossing the little vial at Slight, who catches it with minimal effort. She takes a syringe from her pocket.

Notes:

you can tell it's unfinished because of how abruptly it ended lmao
