And just like that she locked her phone and decided to get some rest.

Lux knew Jinx would just disappear right after that.
Which to be fair was annoying but at least she'd get to shake some sense in her once they go out .
How would I get there though ? She thought as she knew she had lended Garen her car since his was getting repaired.
Maybe I could ask Ez to drive me there?
Oh.
One thing about Lux was that she'd never not get into Jinx's business, since she'd ask Ezreal to drive her there she'd take it as the perfect opportunity to convince Ekko to stay after driving Jinx to the mall and then she'd finally get to force these idiots to sit down together and talk.
Jinx you better talk. She thought.
To get working on her diabolical idea , she picked up her phone and called Ezreal.
“Hey babe what's up?”
“We're going to the mall at four, pick me up at three forty five”
“Can I at least know the reason we're going??”
“Just come! I'll tell you later !,
“We're meeting Jinx and Ekko “
“Okay okay chill, ”
“Thank you babes! See you then bye love you!”
Sometimes he really underestimates how nosy his girlfriend is .

The clinic smelled like antibiotics, headlights buzzing annoyingly over her head.
Jinx really hated clinics but at least she'd finally get that damned cast off her foot , how she missed not having it on.
She sat in the waiting area staring at the horizon thinking endlessly but there was one thought that she couldn't push away.
Would taking it off change her dynamic with Ekko? She wondered , hoping it wouldn't as she grew very close to him over the past months.
She didn't know when she started really caring about him and his presence around her but she surely does, and she really really hoped he feels the same for her.
She was snapped out of her spiraling thoughts by the sweet voice of the nurse calling her .

Six weeks , six weeks until her joints could function properly even though the cast was off now , the doctor told her not to try high impact activities and advised her to get into physical therapy.
It's fine really, it's not like she wasn't expecting it.
What she didn't expect though, is for her ankle to still hurt when she tried to walk .
How great ,really.
Well , there's no point in being mad right now , she knows she has to rest , plus she really needs to talk to Lux.
Remembering she told Lux she'd meet her at four, she checked the time .
15:45 her watch read as if it was mocking her.
She knew she'd be late then, she still had to go home and get ready, she didn't want to meet Lux while in her pajama shorts and a black zipper.
Eventually, she called herself a cab and went home.

15:50 the clock read.
Huh? Jinx was supposed to be home by three. Ekko thought .
She said it shouldn't take long so he was starting to get worried.
He got up and picked up his phone , just as he was going to call he heard the keys turning in the front door , declaring Jinx's arrival .
Ekko didn't know what reaction to expect from her but he definitely didn't expect her to come home with red puffy eyes.
Was she crying?!
“Hey…”
And just as if his words gave her permission to cry she started crying again.
“whoa blue take it easy , what's going on?”
He was really confused , she did take the cast off so why's she crying?
“I can't walk! It still hurts like a bitch!” she clarified, words barely making it out between her sobs.
Was she really not expecting a recovery period after taking the cast off?
“It's okay blue I'm sure you'll be fine in a couple of weeks…”
“Six “
She mumbled, he didn't really catch it.
“Six weeks… she said it'd take six weeks and also physical therapy “ she clarified, realizing he didn't quite understand what she meant.
Oh.
He couldn't help but feel sorry for her and also a little bit guilty again considering he's the reason she had that cast on in the first place.
He watched as she dried her tears , trying so hard to hold the rest of them from falling.
“I'm really sorry blue, but I'm sure they'll pass real quick … uh you wanna go grab a coffee?.. I mean you could really use one..”
Oh how she'd love to go out with him right now , but she needs to go get ready to meet Lux.
“Can't, I'm meeting up with Lux” she said , breath hitching god she sounded so sad .
“ Oh ,need a ride?”
“I mean if you're free then I really wouldn't mind”
She said before disappearing into her room to get ready.

“Babe I told you to pick me up at four!”
“Lux for the millionth time you know Jinx will be late anyway !”
She knows he's got a point but still she won't let him have the satisfaction of being right.
“Fine just let's go”
Fifteen minutes later they were at the mall and of course Jinx wasn't there yet.
“See ?! I told you she won't be here yet” Ezreal said clearly satisfied that he was right.
“She'll be here any minute, trust. “
“Ugh, why can't I go home again?” He asked.
“Because I need you as a bait to keep Ekko here then I'll pull you aside to force these two idiots to sit together and talk” she explained way too pleased with her genius diabolical plan.
Ezreal just looked at her as if she completely went nuts.
“Lux honey can't you just leave them be?”
“I'll just give them a little nudge to each other's direction”
“Oh look there they are!” Lux pointed out before he could speak another word.
Before he knew it she'd already walked over towards them.

The ride to the mall was really fun , Jinx had to admit that.
Twenty five minutes of blasting your favorite songs and screaming the lyrics to the top of your lungs with your not so platonic best friend was therapeutic for some reason.
Finally they made it to the mall , thirty five minutes later than the time she told Lux .
“Pick me up in two hours, deal?”
“You got it blue”
And just as he was about to leave , he turned around and saw Ezreal with Lux.
Maybe he could just go say hi , it's been a while since they hung out together.
Oh Lux will be glad.
“Hey there man, where’ve you been?” Ezreal greeted before pulling him into a crushing hug.
Ekko to admit , it's nice seeing him again. Somehow their conversation dragged on and Ezreal did manage to convince Ekko to come get a coffee with him .
The two guys started walking away , Ezreal turned around and threw Lux a quick wink.
Back to the girls , Jinx seemed to be in such a shitty mood right now.
How great. Lux thought.
Lux really didn't get why she seemed to be this upset , like she took the cast off and everything.
“Can we go sit down somewhere?”. Jinx spoke after a while of being silent.
Oh so it's this bad.
“Sure , anywhere is fine with me,” Lux replied with her over cheerful tone .
They made their way to one of the nearby cafés .
They sat in awkward silence for a while , in an attempt to not look so awkward, Lux started checking out the menu.
“So , as you can see I did take the cast off,”Jinx started.
“And?” Lux asked curiously.
“And that didn't change how nice he's been treating me,”
Seriously, was that a problem?!
“Bluey , I'm not seeing the issue here ? Like where's the problem?”
“The problem is now I really don't know if he was being just nice to begin with, how stupid was I?! “
Oh seriously?!
“Jinx , you know you could just go talk to him ,right?”
“I know! I know it's just,”
“Just what , huh?, I'm sure he likes you back plus I think you two would make a real cute couple”
Jinx didn't answer after that but Lux could see the top of her ears turning pink.

“So you and Jinx, “ Ezreal started.
Me and Jinx?
“What about us?” Ekko asked , he was clearly confused.
Unlike Lux, Ezreal wasn't gonna wait around for Ekko to bring it up , honestly he was starting to get annoyed seeing them dance around each other.
“Oh c'mon dude don't tell me you two aren't a thing already!”
“What?! Dude why would you even think that?!”
Was he really serious now?!
The irony of him making fun of Lux's plan and proceeding to do the same thing but in his defense it really was starting to get annoying seeing them dance around each other.
“Ekko you literally get heart eyes every time you look her way! Just admit that you like her and go tell her that!”
“That's not true! It's just_”
Ezreal looked at him with the most _are we serious _look known by mankind.
“Okay! Fine I do like Jinx, you happy now?” Ekko finally spoke out .
“No! You should be telling her not me man , c'mon”
“Even if I do , I don't think she wants anything more than friends!”
“Why the fuck do you think that?!”
Oh , fair point.
“I don't know it's just a ,uh a gut feeling?”
This was really starting to get into Ezreal’s nerves , if this conversation was gonna keep going on he was sure more than a few heads will turn their way.
“ Look man , all I'm saying is that you like her and it's pretty obvious she does too , just go talk to her while you're still at it “
And with that he got up and walked away.
Talk to her. It seemed pretty simple but what if his feelings actually ruin what they have going on? Jinx was now really close to him , he didn't want to lose her and he knew she's capable of completely pulling away, so was it really worth it?

“Oh I look fabulous in those” Jinx pointed out while wearing the most ridiculous heart shaped sunglasses ever, yet they kinda matched her outfit.
“Absolutely” Lux said, chuckling while wearing a matching pair .
They were taking some silly selfies when Lux's phone rang.
It was Ezreal, she stepped away to answer .
“Babe you were right , these two idiots need to confess or else I'm killing myself”
Oh finally he sees it too!
“What Ekko got on your nerves that bad?” She said smugly.
“You have no clue! My boy's super in love but he's refusing to confess! “
“Look , just come up with whatever crappy excuse to come over here and get these idiots to sit together and talk”
Oh how she'd love to!
“Alright , see you in a minute, “ she replied before hanging up.
A minute later she stepped back into the store where she left Jinx.
“Everything's alright?” Jinx asked while examining a suspiciously over sparkly blazer .
“Yeah , Ez was just checking in,” Lux said , checking out a cute pair of matching bracelets.
“Oh my god look at these, they're so cute! , we should get them!” she said , bringing Jinx's attention to the bracelets.
They did look pretty, one with a mix of blue beads and charms while the other looked the same but with yellow beads.
“We should get them ,they really match our hair colors!”
Well she does have a point Jinx thought plus they're really pretty anyway.
“Okay , let's head to the checkout then,” Jinx said.
Halfway to the checkouts, Lux realized she ‘ forgot’ her credit card with Ezreal.
“Oh no , I forgot my card with Ez , could you wait here for a second, I'll be right back. ” she told Jinx
“Oh Lux you don't have to do that , I can pay for it,” Jinx offered.
“No , I insist plus I also wanted to get this top so it's probably better if I go get it , I'll be back in a second I promise, maybe take a look around” she said, already walking away.

It's been around fifteen minutes and Lux hasn't returned, which was really starting to worry Jinx.
She'd already tried on a few pieces and settled on what to get and eventually did checkout and still Lux was nowhere to be seen .
As she really got worried she called her , no answer.
She tried calling Ezreal then , he also did not answer.
Huh that's weird. She thought.
Remembering that Ezreal was with Ekko, she decided to call Ekko.
The phone rang twice , she started to think he wouldn't answer too but thankfully he answered at the third ring.
“Oh , hey there blue , everything’s alright?”
“Uh , hey , yeah .. I was just wondering if you're still with Ezreal”
“Nah , Lux should up about fifteen minutes ago and said something about forgetting to unplug her straightener and they both left I think”
Don't judge her , she couldn't think of a better excuse!
“Seriously? And they just left?” Jinx asked , clearly shocked that Lux didn't even tell her.
“Yeah , I think? Where are you by the way?”
“Oh um I'm still at the thrift store but forget about it , where are you? I'm coming”
He told her where he was and then they proceeded to exchange brief goodbye.
Did Lux just casually leave her waiting for nearly thirty minutes? How could she?!
Ten minutes later , she met up with Ekko.
“Can you believe this?! She really left without telling me ! How could she ?!!”
“Calm down blue , I'm sure she just forgot , she seemed concerned “
“Ugh , whatever! “ She said annoyedly.
“Whatcha got there?” He nodded towards the bags she had.
“Oh just some random stuff and oh!_ I got us these!” She said , surprisingly excited as if she wasn't mad two minutes ago.
She held up a pack of stickers that he genuinely had no idea what she got them for.
“And these are for…?”
“The helmets obviously! Duh”
“Oh and I also got this for fishbones,” she said, showing him a bright blue cat collar .
He was really glad she seemed a bit happier than she looked this morning.
They didn't realize it but they both started walking around the mall checking different stores.
Somehow they ended up in a convenience store in the clothing aisle with Jinx holding up a pair of silly matching bright pink pajamas and trying to convince him to get them.
“You'd look great in these !” She said her words barely coherent between her laughter.
“I'm not paying a single cent to get these , they look so ugly!” He replied, barely holding back his laughter.
“Fine! Get that instead!” She said pointing towards a maid custom.
“I seriously need to get you out of here!”
She busted into laughter “no , we still need to get some food for fishbones”
After they got what they needed, he dragged her into a trinket store. It had pretty cool antiques but he wasn't there for them.
He went straight to the vintage jewelry
So that's where he gets these cool jewelry from she thought , she'd always been mesmerized by his jewelry.
He got a couple of necklaces and just as he was about to leave he noticed a swirled arm cuff with some beautiful blue charms dangling from it , it reminded him of Jinx
It'd really match her tattoos he thought.
Before he could overthink it , he bought it for her.
“Oh that's a pretty arm cuff,” she pointed out as he held it .
“you think so? It did remind me of you. I was gonna get it, for you anyway. ” he said .
“Oh no you don't have to “
“I want to though,” he replied, throwing her a wink .
I love you . Somehow that was the only thought that came across her mind and before she even realized it she threw herself in his arms and hugged him as tight as she could.
He hugged her back , a few moments later they broke apart and god he never realized how beautiful her blue eyes were.
It was until this moment before Jinx had ever looked at his features up close , oh she was down bad
She just wanted to kiss him so bad, she looked up at him with the most pleading eyes , as she was silently asking him to lean in.
He did , he did lean in and kissed her.
It was like she was waiting for this exact moment for so long , she kissed him back as tenderly and softly.
They pulled apart a moment later to catch their breath, neither talked at first
then she pulled him into a tight hug again while he buried his face into her shoulder , holding her tight.
Maybe Lux was right after all, she thought.
From outside the store , Lux and Ezreal were watching.
“FINALLY!” Lux exclaimed clearly relieved they stopped dancing around each other.
They made their way into the store and walked towards Jinx and Ekko who in fact were still glued to each other's side.
“Well , well , well look who finally quit dancing around each other” Ezreal declared.
They obviously didn't notice them coming in .
“Didn't you guys leave?! Why the hell are you here?!” Jinx exclaimed in a high pitched embarrassed voice burying her face into Ekko's shoulder so they couldn't see she was blushing.
“Nah just thought you two idiots needed a little nudge, you're welcome” Lux replied smugly .
“I hate you!” They both said in unison.
But yeah deep down Jinx had to admit, she was grateful for that little nudge.
