Chapter 4:
Worlds Collide: The Blue Blur Meets The Pretty Guardian.
[Crystal Chaos Arc Begins]
Moments Ago:
Sonic and the others were struggling hard with their battle with Egg-Cerberus, the mechanical mutt of Eggman was quite strong, its armor and claws as well as its enormous size made it quite the challenge. Thankfully, with everyone working together, they began to whittle down Egg-Cerberus’ defenses and it’s armor began to crack and fall off in various places.
“Man.” Sonic panted “Eggman sure knows how to build one helluva guard dog. This thing’s build like a wall!”
Knuckles who was just a ways behind Sonic, spat over his shoulder and began to crack his neck as a way to loosen up. “Hmph. Well no one ever said it always comes easy.” He chuckled “Fido can shield himself all he wants, he’ll be nothing but pile of shrapnel.”
Tails was analyzing Eggman’s attack dog while Rouge and Amy provide him from the rest of the Eggbots and other various machines Sage had called forth while Sonic, Shadow and Knuckles were busy with the main threat. “I’ve got it!” cheered the two-tailed fox happily as his Miles’ electric was able to pull up a proper scan of Egg-Cerberus. “The core is being housed under that Canopy that’s on its face. Get rid of that thing and he’s toast.”
“Well, then now that we know where to hit him where it hurts, I’ve got a plan.” Sonic smiled. “Shadow, I’ll distract Rusty Rover, when you see an opening, you and knuckles knock that canopy cover off his face and go for the knock out.”
“Understood.” Shadow replied nodding in agreement as Sonic dashed towards their foe and Shadow then rushed towards Knuckles to get ready to strike. Meanwhile Sage, Orbot and Cubot watched as their creator’s enemies continued to battle their robotic army.
“Oh boy, they’re really wrecking the boss’s old pet.” Cubot said worriedly as he and the others watch Team Sonic fight. “If Sonic and his friends end up wrecking this bot then he’ll be even madder.”
“You forget that while father had understandable Ire as to losing the silver crystal temporarily, it was a minor setback. Father is already looking for solutions and extra information and resources to still stay right on track. Until he returns from that other Earth, we are to expunge those who are trespassing in his territory.” Sage reminded her robotic ‘Sibling’.
“Plus think about if we Do wipe out Sonic here and now, Boss said he wouldn’t be to mad about that either.” Orbot chimed in trying to sound optimistic.
“Correct.” Sage responded. “Until Sonic had either retreated or met his end here, we shall defend Egg-pire city, as well protect the portal connecting to that other Earth.”
Unbeknownst to Sage, Sonic or anyone else present at that time; the portal that was connected to Usagi’s world began to subtly glow white. Sonic true to his world was able to keep Egg-Cerberus distracted. The Blue Blur zipped and zoomed, weaving and waving all around the metallic mut which confused and irritated it very much. Soon Sonic dashed towards a large wall that separated Eggman’s city from the rest of the world. He stood there, his back to the wall as he began jeering at Egg-Cerberus.
“Heeeere Boy, Here Boy!” Sonic called sounding very sarcastic. “If ya’ can’t catch me you won’t get a treat!”
Egg-Cerberus then lunged towards Sonic, it’s robotic barks vibrated throughout the entire city as it tried to desperately snuff out the life of his creator’s long time foe.
RAWRF RAWRF RAWRF RAWRF!!!!
Sonic stood perfectly still, he eyed the murderous machine as it tromped closer and closer to him, a smug look on his face and each gigantic footstep brought it closer to his location. Until;
CRASH!!!!!!
Sonic had once again dodged his foe’s attack at the last second dashing to safety as Egg-Cerberus crashed into the Boarder wall, his Canopy shielding now cracking just a bit. Unfortunately for Egg-Cerberus, the impact jostled its circuits briefly, leaving it discombobulated and it began to stagger, back up on its legs and try to get its surroundings and get another lock onto Sonic.
Like clockwork, Shadow and Knuckles then made their move, Knuckles grabbed Shadow’s arm then the echidna began spinning around like a top as fast as he could go in his own right, and once he reached enough of his own speed, Knuckles used his incredible strength combined with his momentum to throw Shadow towards the Egg-Cerberus.
WHOOSH!!!!
The Ultimate Lifeform flew at his target like a homing missile. He then began to from a spear-shaped object out of energy. “Chaos Spear!” Shadow yelled as he stabbed the canopy cover of Egg-Cerberus’ mask, as the chaos energy forged weapon surged brightly as it began to damage his target.
In no time at all, after the surging energy subsided, the canopy mask crumbled and fully cracked off Egg-Cerberus, revealing its robotic face and weak spot, but Shadow wasn’t too happy.
“Tch!” he growled with frustration. “That darn mask was more resilient then we thought, my attack didn’t even damage the actually face.” Soon enough, Egg-Cerberus had shaken off its daze and begun attacking Shadow now. Shadow himself began to dodge each incoming attack as well, and began to prepare another attack to finally bring down their foe. “It’s time to end this!” Shadow replied as he began to charge up his chaos energy.
This time Shadow intended to try and take out Egg-Cerberus with a small chaos blast, Shadow soon began to glow red, indicating he was almost ready. However just before Shadow could make his move, something caught the corner of his eye. He had thought he had seen something back near the base of Eggman’s tower, a white glowing aura that seemed to be emerging from a portal of sorts. Everything happened at once; the Second the strange aura disappeared Shadow took one more quick look in that direction and in his quick glance, he then became shocked as for a split second, he thought he had seen a familiar face.
“Maria?!?” Shadow exclaimed as his chaos energy began to dissipate from him now being distracted.
“SHADOW LOOK OUT!!!” Sonic called out to his ally. Shadow turned his head back towards the fight but it was too late. Egg-Cerberus was right on top of him and then swatted Shadow into a near by building. The ultimate lifeform slammed into the metal building with a loud KA-KLANG! and fell roughly 10 feet to the ground, lying in a daze himself. Egg-Cerberus then began to charge at the downed hedgehog, but suddenly before it could get closer, Egg-Cerberus stopped in its tracks. It tried to move but something was holding it back. The metallic mutt turned it’s head behind it to see Knuckles had grabbed it’s tail and was straining very hard to keep it in place.
“Don’t forget about me you dumb mutt!” Knuckles growled smugly as with every ounce of power he could muster Knuckles then pulled his body back in the other direction and in no time at all quickly was able to toss Egg-Cerberus into the air. Egg-Cerberus flew about 20 feet backwards as it couldn’t prevent itself from being tossed, and landed a good or so 50 feet from the main tower with a mighty THUD! The ground shook from it’s large metal frame. Soon Sage noticed something or rather multiple somethings
The machine that had been maintaining the portal suddenly began to short circuit and then it deactivated, closing the portal. But in front of the portal generator, she noticed some familiar faces along with a few new ones present as they gawked at the sight of the downed Egg-Cerberus.
“What on earth are the Sailor guardians doing here?” Sage exclaimed showing a rare sign of exasperation. “They shouldn’t have been able to follow us back to our world. And more importantly, the portal generator is now deactivated from those three fools’ meddling.”
“Hmm. Well I know one answer to your questions, Sis. Seems as if Usagi Tsukino has the Boss’s lost chaos emerald.” Orbot responded as he looked closer at the group with his robotic eyes. Sage then calmed back down to her usual self and began to analyze the situation again.
“Of course. Father did account for the guardians finding the emerald in Metal Sonic’s wreckage, logically that means Usagi Tsukino somehow was able to use Chaos control to bring herself and her own allies to our world. But still to have uncovered some of their abilities in the short time since we last encountered them.” Sage mulled over everything that was now happening as fast as her digital mind allowed her. “The parameters of our goal have now changed. We must retrieve the chaos emerald from the guardians, and drive all of these invaders away from the city. With the portal generator down, we must make the necessary repairs so we can reactivate it and allow father easier access back to base, as sooner or later he will need to return.”
Sage then used her tech abilities to have Egg-Cerberus get itself back up quicker. The metallic mutt before them as it began to stand up again. Egg-Cerberus then noticed the guardians and began scanning them as the lights on it's body glowed red.
"INTRUDERS DETECTED INVADING EGGMAN EMPIRE TERRITORY" that machine bellowed. "ATTACK ALL WHO DEFY "
Egg-Cerberus took a stance ready, the began charging towards the guardians.
"UWAHHH!" Usagi shrieked in fear "Another metal monster!" "And us without our powers!" Rei grunted angrily "Let's get out of here guys!" But it was too late, Egg-Cerberus was right on top of the guardians. Just as it was about to swipe at them with its razor claws:
SMASH! THOOM! KKKA-RACK!
Sonic who hadn’t noticed the group due to them being blocked by Egg-Cerberus had rush into finish the job Knuckles and Shadow started. Sonic rammed into the mighty machine and smashed straight through its metal body. Egg-Cerberus stopped it's attack and once again collapsed, now deactivated for good. The guardians stood in shock and awe. They were seconds away from death and had been saved.
"Ohhh…" Usagi sight with relief as she collapsed back to her knees again from the shock tears rolling down her face. "That was really scary."
"We're not out of the woods yet." Luna mention. If this place had more of those machines then we need to get out of here. The group nodded understanding that they needed to leave, but then turning back to the wreckage of the Egg-Cerberus, the guardians were meet with another surprise. Standing on top of the wrecked robo-dog was a big blue hedgehog with white gloves and red high-top sneakers.
"Hey! Who are you all and what are you all doing in Eggman's base? And why do you have the chaos emerald he stole?" Sonic asked surprised to see a group of teens, two kids and two cats in the main stronghold of his mortal enemy.
Some of the guardians then tensed up, even though almost all of them were without powers, that didn’t stop them from trying to defend themselves from what looked like a talking big blue hedgehog.
“What the hell is that thing?” Rei asked as she glared angrily at Sonic with suspicion beads of nervous sweat forming on her forehead. “Is that a Yoma?”
“You guys heard what it said right? It mentioned Eggman, you think this Yoma is one of his?” Mako asked looking ready to rush towards the blue blur and take a swing. The rest of the guardians began feeling the tension in the air, and reacted differently. Chibi-Usa held onto Mamoru’s leg nervously, Ami began trying to fully take in their surroundings, to see exactly where or when they were, Minako helped Usagi back up on her feet. Usagi herself was feeling a mix of emotions, still scared as she was powerless and in an unknown city staring down a Yoma looking blue hedgehog. But at the same time, she felt like the creature wasn’t evil, the white chaos emerald’s light had faded down to a soft dim, but to Usagi, it felt like the emerald was once again relaying her information. Usagi walked forward, past her friends who stood battle ready despite their current weakness.
“Usako, Be careful.” Mamoru warned still full of worry. “Yeah!” Minako responded “We don’t know what that thing is or what it can do.”
Sonic, now curious about what was happening with this small group place a hand on his side. The Blonde Odongo-haired girl, clutching the chaos emerald stood in between of her friends and the wrecked Egg-Cerberus. Usagi looked up towards Sonic, finally mustered up the courage to speak.
“We came here because a strange old man with tons of robots attacked us and our home as well as try and steal something important from us.” Usagi said trying to sound authoritative. “We have to know, are you working for that horrible man?”
Before Sonic could respond to Usagi’s question, the guardians were suddenly surrounded by 10 Egg hammers and Sonic himself was surrounded by three Aero-Cannons their blasters aimed at him point-blank. Sage floated down from where she had been viewing everything staring at sonic blankly.
“Well, this is quite the surprise.” Sage said as she then turned behind her to then look at Usagi and the others. “I didn’t expect you lot would be able to make it all the way here, especially not long after our first encounter. However, this is what father would say, ‘too good to pass up’. You’re all surrounded and more importantly, you’ve also returned father’s chaos emerald. I’m sure when he returns, he will be most pleased at this along with the lot of you meeting your ends here.”
“Damn it!” spat Haruka with anger. “This was a trap sprang up by that damn blue Yoma. If we had our powers, I’d show that spike ball a thing or two for tricking us.”
“Hang on a second. I’m not sure that thing was working is working for Eggman.” Ami retorted, trying to cool down her ally’s temper. “He’s also being targeted by these machines too, if he was working for them why would hey surround him like they’ve done for us?”
“Once again, the guardians’ so-called genius came to the obvious conclusion that you all aren’t my father’s only adversaries. I am curious if you can comprehend that now that you and your allies are in our territory you can’t even fathom overcoming the odds of beating the Eggman Empire.” Sage taunted as Ami now glared angrily at floating digital girl. Ami still upset at how Sage had destroyed her super computer as well as ruthlessly diminished her intelligence still weighed on her.
Sonic then chuckled, everyone turning to look at our hero. “Wow Sage. You’re really trying extra hard to take me down this time. Though the fact you and daddy dearest are attacking harmless school kids is pretty low, even for you.” This comment seemed to irk Sage a bit as she turned sharply to Sonic why trying to still maintain her composure her tone showed that she was upset.
“As I’ve mentioned to you before Sonic. Father is working hard to conquer this world for the empire. As his daughter I shall do whatever I can so that the Eggman Empire will accomplish this goal. Once Father has returned from his mission and we will have what we need to achieve what he’s been after for so long.” Sage said as she glared at Sonic. However, Sonic’s smile remained plastered on his face.
“Wow. You really Do take after you’re old Eggman.” Sonic replied cheekily. “But believe me when I say; me and the gang will just stop you and your dad again. Always will.”
Sage waved her hand, the Aero-cannons surrounding Sonic began to charge a shot. Sonic still stared at Sage, not moving an inch. “And how do you plan on doing that? At this range, even you can’t evade these shots with out taking some damage. And don’t forget that at any time, I can also have the Super badniks to attack those humans down there.” Sage said ready to make her move on both Sonic and the guardians.
“Me? Oh, I’m not going to do anything. Not this time.” Sonic replied. Just a split second later, Knuckles appeared out of nowhere slamming one of his spiked fists through one of the Egg hammers surrounding the guardians. As the first Egg hammer began to fall over the closest guardians to the falling robot; Rei, Michiru, Hotaru and Pluto leapt and darted away as not to be flattened by the lumbering ton of metal the echidna warrior just destroyed.
“What the hell? there’s another one now?!?” Minako shouted as she and the others began to huddle closer as to give themselves more space from their surrounding enemies.
“What even is that?” Rei asked “Some kind of red mutt?” This choice of assuming what kind of animal Knuckles is wasn’t the best idea as he was within earshot of Rei’s snarky questioning.
“Red Mutt? RED MUTT?!?!?!” Knuckles Growled as he began Stomping his foot angrily on top of the toppled Egg Hammer. “You wanna say that to my face you black haired harpy?”
“Oh, you did Not just call me a harpy!” Rei spat back now angry herself. Unbeknownst to either two hotheads, another Egg Hammer was beginning to swing its hammer at Rei. “Rei Look out behind you!” Mako called as soon as she noticed but it was too late, to do anything. The egg hammer gripped its weapon over its head and then swung with all its might at Rei, Knuckles knowing now wasn’t the time to argue tried to lunge towards the sailor guardian and attempted to take the blow. But he wasn’t fast enough to reach Rei in time.
Rei then shut her eyes and braced herself for the worst, until;
PIKO!
Amy was the next to pop out of nowhere, having summoned her Piko Piko hammer she had countered the larger hammer and was now in a strained stalemate with the egg hammer.
“Really Knuckles?” Amy said through gritted teeth as she tried her hardest to push back her opponent’s attack. “You really need to pick fights at a time like this?” Soon with enough effort, Amy then planted her feet on the ground more firmly and with a might swing, uppercut the egg hammer she was facing, making it stagger and allow the pink hedgehog to follow up with another strong swing to it’s head totaling another super badnik as it collapsed onto its back, its smashed in head emitting sparks and smoke.
“Oh, now there’s three of them!” Michiru gasped in awe. “And she’s pushing back that metal menace with just a hammer. Could her weapon be like our talismans?”
“Hey, this Yoma’s got Pink hair like me!” Chibi-Usa called happily as the now incoming allies of Sonic began defending their group.
“Man, she’s just as strong as that red guy! And her dress is super cute too!” Minako said.
“Aww… thanks!” Amy smiled blushing. “Your clothes are pretty cute too! I’d love to know where you got them!”
As the remaining 8 egg hammers began trying to attack Amy, Knuckles and the guardians, Tails, Rouge and Shadow then arrived and began their own attacks to help aid their friends and the guardians. Tails curled into a ball and attacked one of the egg hammers with a spin dash followed by then quickly uncurl from his spin dash and spin into the robot and hitting it with his tails. Rouge flew from high in the air and began to dive bomb into a spinning tornado heel kick into the chest of the super badnik she chose to attack.
Shadow then warped into the fray, and then with a bit of effort, slammed into the legs of a super badnik and then jumped into the air and plunged a chaos spear into the egg hammer’s core.
Sage watched as each of the surrounding Egg hammers numbers began to dwindle. “I had forgotten about the others in my haste to capture you and those guardians. How unfortunate.” She muttered.
“See, I didn’t have to do anything. It helps that I got some friends who can also scramble some Eggman robos.” Sonic said to Sage. And before Sage could react, Sonic then quickly placed both of his hand on the grounds and quick spun around in a break dance like style wrecking all three Aero-Cannons, Sonic then jumped into the air, and curled into a spin dash himself and began to rapidly attack the remaining Egg hammers with his friends. In no time at all of the super badniks had been trashed, Sonic and others stood around the guardians in a protective manner.
“Ha, too easy!” Sonic chuckled as he clapped his hands in a up and down motion to wipe away dust from his gloved hands.
Usagi and the guardian were awe struck; these creatures had easily taken down all of these powerful Eggman robots with relative ease. “I think we don’t have to worry about these creatures are Yoma working for Eggman.” Usagi said to the others with a look of confirmation on her face. “Sonic, it’s too risky to stay here if all these people are stuck in Egg-perial city, we better get them out of here.” Tails said as he jogged over to he best friend.
“Yea I think you’re right Tails, plus they have the chaos emerald Eggman nabbed all those months ago, so that all the more reason to get out of dodge” Sonic responded as he then turned to Sage “Sorry Sage, I hate to leave and run but I think we all got places to be, but don’t worry I’m sure we’ll get a chance to play again real soon.”
“I believe you’ll find that option more than likely.” Sage retorted as she once again used her tech abilities to summon hundreds more of the various Eggman robots to surround the entire group. “That chaos emerald is property of the Eggman empire. That with the remaining six as well as the silver crystal shards will eventually be recovered for father so he can rule this world without fail.”
“Silver crystal shards?” Sonic asked upon hearing that last bit of information. “What exactly are those? What is Eggman up to this time?”
“Tsk. I’ve spoken too much on that matter. But that issue will soon be fixed easily.” Sage said as she snapped her fingers and then all the surrounding Eggman robots began running towards the entire group.
“UWAHHH!!! HERE THEY COME!!!!” Usagi cried in fear as the giant mob of robots scrambled closer to them. At that moment Usagi felt something grasp onto her right hand, she looked down and saw Sonic had ran over to her, and quickly pried the white chaos emerald out of her hand.
“Hey!” Mamoru shouted as he quickly ran towards Sonic and Usagi “What are you-?”
Before Mamoru could say anything else, Sonic had successfully wrangled the emerald out of Usagi’s hand. “Shadow!” he called tossing the emerald towards his rival. Shadow standing still simply outstretched his left hand, catching the chaos emerald with ease. The ultimate life form then began to smile smugly. But at that moment, the closest of the incoming robots then lunged towards the whole group.
“Get Ready Everyone!” Luna called as she, Artimus and the rest of the guardians began bracing themselves for what was to come.
“CHAOS….CONTROL!!!”
FWASH!!!!!
In a brilliant burst of light, Shadow had surrounded himself, and everyone else in chaos energy, and the entire group vanished into thin air teleporting away just as many of the various Egg pawns and badniks began crashing into each other due to their targets no longer being present.
“Seems as though they got away.” Orbot said as he floated over to Sage along with Cubot and began to survey the damage the battle with Sonic had done to the city.
“Another minor setback.” Sage replied as she closed her visible eye to contemplate on their next steps. “This outcome was expected, and the actions we must take haven’t changed. We will focus on rebuilding what was damaged as well as fix the portal generator to reestablish the link between our Earth and the earth of the sailor guardians.”
With that Sage then flew off to repair the portal generator as Orbot and Cubot were left to order some of the still functioning Eggman machines in their immediate area to begin cleaning up the wreckage.
Tails’ Workshop (Mystic Ruins)
Tails’ workshop was very quiet, The birds chirped, and the wind blew in the trees gently; then suddenly a brilliant burst of light suddenly appeared out of nowhere, disappearing just as quick leaving those who escaped from Egg-perial City, along with the Tornado 1.
“Phew! That was definitely cutting it close.” Amy sighed as she placed the head of her hammer onto the ground and she leaned on the top of her handle to rest a bit.
“You can say that again.” Rouge said placing her hands on her hips. “All that trouble and Eggman wasn’t even there. Just a crazy light show, day turning to night and us fighting thousand of Egg-tech for two whole hours. I swear, stealing emeralds from Eggman is such a chore, it’s nothing like some of my other jobs.” Pouted the bat in annoyance.
“Well, you can argue with results.” Sonic said grabbing his hands behind his head. “We got the Chaos emerald back from Eggman, did some damage to his fortress, and learned that apart from him being M.I.A on some research quest, he’s hunting something called the ‘Silver crystal shards’.”
“Hmm. ‘Silver crystal’…” Tails pondered as he then pulled out his Miles electric. “I think I came across something called that in some of the data I decrypted when we were flying to Egg-perial city. But I don’t know too much the rest of the data on whatever it is, will need more time to be decrypted.
“You think maybe our new guests might know a thing or two about this silver crystal?” Sonic said pointing his thumb at the Usagi and the others. “The blonde girl with the buns said something about Eggman attacking them to get something, so that ‘something’ may be that.”
Sonic and his friends then turned to the guardians. However, even though they had been saved by the team, they still seemed a little haphazard of the group, given creatures like sonic in their world were usually Yoma made to attack the innocent and steal energy. Mako, Haruka, Rei and Mamoru stood in front of the others in a protective position, and ready to fight. “All right!” Makoto said with a stern look on her face. “We have a few things we’d like to know, both about all of you and that Eggman character.”
“Humph. Touchy right now aren’t we.” Knuckles huffed “It’s not like we didn’t just save your lives or anything, guess some people can’t say thank you anymore.”
“Listen buddy, we have a score to settle with that Eggman, and while you lot did save us, that doesn’t mean we fully trust you. After all, you were in that city of his too.” Rei retorted.
“That’s right.” Michiru added. “We’ve face Yoma similar to you all before, and if it turns out you all are working for that villainous foe then we won’t go easy on you.”
Rouge then scoffed at Michiru. “Oh puh-lease! Sister, we could say the same for you lot too you know, how do we know we can trust you all, why were a bunch of humans just in the middle of the worlds most dangerous mad scientist’s evil city? for all we know, you could be hired agents or human like robots to trick us.”
Ami then perked up. “The world’s most dangerous scientist?” she asked. “But how could that man already be well known? When he attacked up that seemed like he first time his made his move ever.”
Setsuna then turned to Ami. “I may have an explanation for that, Eggman had said when he attack you five girls at Rei’s home he crossed through time and space. So Eggman may have come from a different world and time altogether.”
Setsuna’s hypothesis began to sink in for the guardians. And this wasn’t sitting well for them if she was right.
“So are we not on our Earth anymore?” asked Chibi-Usa to her first friend. The guardian of space and time nodded with a grim look on her face. “Yes, this place. It is an earth of a completely different world.”
Usagi having a rare serious look on her face once again walked forward past her friends and was now in front of Sonic.
“The thing this Eggman person tried to take. It was called the legendary silver crystal. It’s a powerful artifact that was passed down to the moon kingdom of my world for a really long time.” Usagi started.
“Usagi!” Luna cried in a defensive tone. Sonic’s friends jolted a bit, the sight of seeing a normal looking cat talk like them or humans was a bit surprising to them to say the least. “What are you doing? We haven’t confirmed if we can trust these creatures, you shouldn’t be-”.
“Let them talk Luna.” Mamoru replied calmy. Luna turned to Usagi’s boyfriend with concern. “But… we don’t what if they are..”
“We’ll just have to trust Usagi’s judgement on this one” Artimus said as he walked beside Luna. “After all, Mamoru is the only one of our whole group with powers, and until we find a way to restore the girls’ powers we need any allies we can.”
“He attacked us with a strange machine and he was able to forcibly pull the silver crystal away from me. But for whatever reason, the silver crystal shattered and broke into seven fragments known as the rainbow crystals and flew to this world.” Usagi continued.
“We had an inkling Eggman was plotting something that involved other worlds.” Tails said. “Guess we know you all aren’t from this earth.”
“I don’t really understand it myself but that white gemstone your friend is holding was able to tell me what happened to the silver crystal.” Usagi responded as she pointed to the white chaos emerald in Shadow’s hand as Sonic and the others looked at it while Usagi recounted recounting her story.
“Whatever that madman’s strange device did to try and steal the silver crystal was, it also robbed us of our powers. That gem and the silver crystal’s energy may have clashed with one another’s and cause it to malfunction not long after it made us lose out abilities.” Ami added.
“That man, may have escaped without the silver crystal, but he’s still on the loose and while we are planning on finding the rainbow crystals and restore the silver crystal, we’re have to keep that gemstone out of his hands too when this is all said and done. So, at the very least, you can hand over that thing.” Haruka stated with much authority in her voice.
“Well, that’s where we’re gonna have to disagree with you there.” Sonic said with a bit of uncertainty while rubbing the back of his head. “Whatever Eggman is planning with your special crystal, if he does end up getting it, then we’ll need this chaos emerald along with the other six to try and stop him. Heck I’m sure that’s why he went t your world for that crystal, to find something to help him get the chaos emeralds.”
This bit of information understandably shocked the guardians. The fact that not only had they needed to find the seven rainbow crystals again but, now there were seven other powerful gems they’d have to hunt down too. “Seriously?!?” Rei exclaimed. “This world has its own Rainbow crystals???”
“So, they’re called ‘Chaos Emeralds’, fitting name as the energies I sensed in that one were well indeed chaotic.” Hotaru said coldly.
“We’ll then, thanks for that bit of info.” Haruka replied as she began walking towards Shadow. “But if that was your way of trying to keep that thing, then all you’ve done is prove to us we need to collect all of these dangerous relics and safe guard them!”
“I’d Like to see you try, but consider this a warning. You claim you’re without power, so anything that happens next will be one sided, especially since you’re threatening the ultimate lifeform.” Shadow responded matching Haruka’s energy as he himself began walking towards the guardian of Uranus.
Usagi, seeing her fellow guardian and friend trying to attempt to fight Shadow even though she was still powerless caused the moon princess to become filled with fear for her friend’s safety. Usagi ran in front of Haruka, spreading her arms out to block her way. At that same time Sonic quick Zipped over and grabbed Shadow’s shoulder.
“Whao, Shadow. Come on! You heard them, cuz of Eggman they Don’t have any powers, We can’t just beat them up cuz they’re scared and don’t know what to do after being through who knows what?” Sonic stated with a firmness in his voice, trying to get Shadow to cool down.
“Haruka please don’t! I get that these emeralds sound dangerous but with out that white one, we wouldn’t have gotten here! I’m sure somehow it broke the silver crystal so Eggman couldn’t get his hands on it. Why else would the rainbow crystals come here as well as send us here too?” Usagi begged. Haruka stared at Usagi, her face grimaced as she looked at the moon princess.
“Usagi. You have to admit; This Eggman, him shattering the silver crystal, These chaos emeralds, These creatures and this whole other earth.” Haruka said gesturing to Sonic and the others. “We’ve gone from the frying pan into the fire. Without our powers we need to take whatever can give us an advantage and do whatever it takes to make sure we’ll win this battle, even if it means-”
“NO!” Usagi shouted tears beginning to well in her eyes. The sharpness in her voice both shocked and startled both sides. “If you’re thinking what I think you’re saying…I..I Don’t want that to happen! I don’t want any of you to try and die just to restore the silver crystal if the situation gets to much! If there’s a way we can restore our powers and the silver crystal without any of you all getting hurt or worse, then we’ll find a way!” Everyone looked at Usagi as her tears rolled down her face, the guardians knew that Usagi cared for all of them and after everything they went through in the past, they all knew that Usagi never wanted them to throw away their lives. Sonic and the others also saw how determined Usagi was to make sure her friends wouldn’t be harmed.
Shadow then handed the chaos emerald to Sonic, surprising the blue blur. “The choices on what you do with that is yours to make.” Shadow said as he turned and began walking towards a palm tree close to where Rouge was standing. Sonic looked at the chaos emerald now in his hand, then he turned to Usagi, both her and Haruka then looked at sonic with curiosity. “Look, I’m sure whatever Eggman made you all go through sucked. But like your friend here said, there IS a way to make sure you all don’t die trying to get back what you lost cuz of the old Egghead.” Sonic began. “We’ve fought Eggman before, loads of time when he tried to take over the world. We do what we can to make sure the world isn’t run by that sleaze bag, If the one issue you have with us, is you don’t trust us then by all means, let us help you find these rainbow crystals and get you guys back home.”
Sonic then extended the hand that held the chaos emerald back to Usagi, the gem glowing faintly. Usagi, and the others were stunned; after all that happened in the past 20-30 minutes, they were shocked to see Sonic, who had just explained what the chaos emerald was, willingly give them back the gem, despite their initial claims of seeing Sonic and the others as untrustworthy and them seeing the emerald as dangerous. Michiru walked up to Haruka placing a hand on her shoulder. “Seems as though we can and should trust these folks after all, don’t you think Haruka?” Michiru asked.
“He and his friends did just save our butts. So, we owe them that much” Rei said with a soft smile.
“they’re pretty strong too, especially those three guys. to have beaten all those giant robots. Not to mention brave.” Mako added as she then began to blush a little and was blissfully reminiscing. “Kinda like my ex-boyfriend.”
“For sure! Plus we’re gonna be exploring a whole entire earth that’s different from ours! Just think of all the cute clothes and guys who’re living here!” Minako responded.
“I am interesting in seeing if our histories line up or if there are differences, not to mention if this world has cultures our own world doesn’t.” Ami admitted.
Usagi then laughed, wiping away her tears as she was relieved that her friends were now trusting Sonic and the others. Usagi then turned to Sonic, smiling. “Thank you, we really would like you’re help dealing with all of this.” She said bowing her head a little. “Oh! I almost forgot, My name’s Usagi Tsukino, It’s nice to meet you.”
Sonic then lifted his free hand and gave a thumbs up while winking.
“I’m Sonic. Sonic The Hedgehog. Great to meet ya’ Usagi.”
“Well this should be interesting.” Setsuna thought to herself as she smiled seeing Usagi not only was able to keep her friends from doing anything rash but was pleased to see the moon princess building bonds with powerful allies like a leader should. Usagi then took the chaos emerald from Sonic’s hand. Suddenly the white chaos emerald began to glow brighter again. Everyone was shocked as the emerald seemed to be reacting to nothing.
“Wha, WHAAA!!! What’s happening?!?!” Usagi cried as she once again began to glow white.
As everyone watched the white light of the emerald shone so bright they were blinded, and covered their eyes and faces to shield themselves from the brightness. Meanwhile Usagi was beginning to change….
“Moon Prism Power, Make Up!” Usagi instinctually cried
As Usagi’s outfit began to change, a familiar power seemed to flood the young girl’s body. Soon the light faded and when everyone uncovered their eyes, to their surprise, Usagi had transformed. Usagi was now wearing a sailor looking uniform with a blue skirt, a big pink bow, long pink-ish red long boots, strange accessories in her Odongo buns and a golden crown with a small red gem in the middle. Usagi had somehow regained her Original Sailor Moon form.
“Usagi! You’ve become Sailor Moon again!” Luna exclaimed
“Did that chaos emerald restore some of her powers?” Rei asked still shocked. While the guardians were surprised one of their own regained some of their lost power, Sonic and the other were shocked and at a loss for words.
“Umm…. What the heck just happened?” Sonic asked
