It was nice. Rouxls hadn’t spent time like this with anyone in quite a long time, except for Lancer, but that could hardly count.
He couldn’t tell completely if the strange man felt the same, mostly because it seemed like his smile was etched deep into his face, but also partially because of his oddly…professional tone..? He spoke like every word was rehearsed at least a dozen times regardless of where the conversation went or how
“So- what was-eth that strange talke earlier?”
“AH. YES. THAT. I PREFER NOT TO TALK ABOUT IT.”
Rouxls squinted slightly and took a sip of his tea, “Fine thenst….what is this place?”
“YOU ASK A LOT OF QUESTIONS.” Rouxls opened his mouth to retort but Gaster continued, “IT’S THE PLACE IN BETWEEN.”
That only made Rouxls more confused.
“In betweene what? I know I cameth here by pacing so what- this is in betweenst those two spotse?”
“YOU ARE PARTIALLY CORRECT. IT IS TO BE EXPECTED THAT YOU DON’T FULLY UNDERSTAND. DO NOT BE ALARMED, THIS DOES NOT REFLECT ON YOUR OVERALL KNOWLEDGE.”
“Uh- thankes????”
“THAT WAS NOT A COMPLIMENT WARRANTING A POSITIVE REACTION, MERELY AN FACT.”
“Ah- well, thankes anyway.”
“AGAIN, THERE IS NO NEED.”
“Okaye- stubborn much.” Rouxls cocked his head slightly, a small smirk escaping onto his face.
“I AM NOT BEING STUBBORN, I AM MERELY-“ “Statinge a fact yes yes I understandeth.”
Gaster simply stayed silent after this interruption as he didn’t know what to respond with. Rouxls, on the other hand, was visibly trying not to laugh, something he was pathetically failing at.
“. . .I DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOU FIND SO FUNNY.”
Still laughing a bit, Rouxls tried to compose himself and cleared his throat, “Sorry, sorry, uhm… thous tea is prettye good by the way! I doth drink it two often but I mighte after this hah.”
“WELL I AM GLAD IT IS TO YOUR LIKING, AFTER ALL, I DO NOT HAVE ANY OTHER FORM OF SUSTENANCE AROUND HERE.”
“Oh really? I could bringeth thou some food and such if thou’d like!”
What Gaster meant to say was “WHY WOULD YOU EVER WANT TO SEE ME AGAIN, LET ALONE HELP ME?” Instead, what came out was “THAT SOUNDS LOVELY, THANK YOU.”
“Well, with that I supposeth I should go thenst, I’m sure one of the monarches requires me! I’ll be seeing thou tomorrow!”
And with that, Rouxls got up and left, leaving his tea and a very confused Gaster.
