Chapter Text
The door clicked. Behind it a large and tall figure stood in the irregularly sized doorway, doing the nightly checks to make sure that everyone was in their rooms.
Boosfer, check.
Baablu, check.
Wemmbu, check.
All of them were asleep.
Yet something seemed off.
It was too quiet.
Boosfer would usually be out, either with his friends or with some random girl. Doing illegal things that almost got him arrested on multiple occasions. He had to be bailed out of jail a few times before, it was almost like he was intentionally trying to make his father lose money, yet it didn't even make a dent in the end.
Baablu would be on his video games, completely focused on the screen while texting his friends while sneaking downstairs to grab snacks every now and then. He was the least problematic, besides the fact he was completely useless.
Wemmbu would be working. Like he should be. But Wemmbu was not working. He was sleeping. That was the issue. A third failure to add to the other two, a waste of time. A lost cause of a son.
What a disaster.
The door to the main bedroom was pushed open. She was still laying there. Motionless and most likely in pain.
Like she should be.
Her actions had consequences, and this was the aftermath.
What a failure of a family.

Morning came and Wemmbu was the first to wake, always before his alarm at five-thirty. He wanted to stop the habit of that, but his efforts to suppress it before were futile.
He tossed the covers off of himself and made his way to his private bathroom that he was glad that existed, because his father was usually up at this time.
And if he saw him…
He shook his head, letting the thought die. Instead, he started his morning routine.
A few steps of skincare, which was surprising since he had really smooth looking pale skin. He hadn't had any trace of acne the entirety of his teenage years, which was rare for people like him that were constantly put under high levels of stress.
Five-thirty struck, he scrambled to turn off his alarm. Almost falling on his face in the process. He sighed and went back to the task at hand.
Boosfer was up now, earlier than usual, making an unnecessarily loud noise that resembled a yawn. The noise unsurprisingly woke Baablu from the other room, he was always a light sleeper.
No noise came from the hallway as it was now past the time their father had to leave. He would be going on a trip for two weeks. The brothers did not care to know where or what for, they were just glad that he was leaving them alone.
Wemmbu took the silence as a sign to move.
Once he opened the door, Boosfer and Baablu did the same shortly after. Once they officially deemed the coast as clear, they marched to the stairs and went down to the kitchen where they prepared to leave.
Baablu left first without hesitation, since he would be driving today. The two oldest switched every two days, it was a system that Wemmbu was not included in since he had not gotten his driver’s license yet.
It’s not like it would matter if they even got pulled over.
Boosfer waited for Wemmbu, which was rare, because Baablu usually did. He was probably conflicted with the events that were so close to occurring last night.
They barely made it back to their rooms without being noticed by their father.
Their mother was completely out of the picture due to her being bedridden because she has some “unknown disease” when really their father just poisoned her medication. He said that she “was getting too involved with things” and was simply “removing her” from the family and business picture.
Baablu was paranoid that they were also going to get drugged. So they all had collectively decided to not eat or drink anything around their father. They refused everything from the maids and butlers, even if they seemed innocent and were just doing their job, they were the enemy too.
They worked for that man, they could not disobey. Who knows what would happen to them if they did…
Everything in this god forsaken family was a threat to their lives. They were sick of it.
The car turned on with the usual rumble that had gotten old years ago. Wemmbu was sitting in the front this time, with Boosfer laying down taking up the whole back seat. He claimed that he had a “better view” when he was literally just looking at the roof of the car.
Wemmbu turned around, “You’re a weirdo.” Wemmbu probably had the most noticeable accent out of all three of them, and that was most likely the only thing he’s said all week.
“AHH! HE SPEAKS!?” Boosfer yelled, causing Baablu to wince “Yes, did you not know our brother could speak?” He paused and took a right turn, “Well yeah! Our sociopathic father caused him not to do it ninety-five percent of the time!” He scoffed and straightened the wheel.
Boosfer snorted, “Yeah, that fucker.” He smirked mischievously. He redirected his attention to his younger brother. “Why am I weirdo!?” He sat up and Baablu swerved the car just to spite him. “HEY! Dude-” Boosfer was clinging on to Wemmbu’s seat and the other tried to pry his fingers off. “Wear a seat belt next time.” He teased with a soft chuckle.
Boosfer pouted for the remainder of the drive.

Once they reached the school campus, Boosfer sat up, Wemmbu looked forward instead of out the window, and Baablu searched for their parking spot while thankfully avoiding pedestrians.
They always waited until the first bell rang. They liked going to school more than being at home, but that doesn’t mean they didn’t enjoy going.
The school itself was huge for it just being a normal high school. Their mother had suggested that they go to a public school in order for them to learn how to socialize. But more importantly, it made them feel like normal students. Not privileged, not held upon a pedestal, normal.
That was really all they wanted to be.
A loud sound echoed throughout the campus, Boosfer practically jumped out of he car. He knew he would have been dragged out by one of his brothers, he just didn’t know who… That was the scary part. Baablu got out second, finally turning the car off. It has been getting warmer outside lately, something he definitely does not like. “Ugh, I hate spring.”
“Gah-what!? Spring is like the best season, bro.” Boosfer shouted with passion and then quieter, “How do you not like spring…”
“I like spring.” Wemmbu added while swinging his bag over his shoulder. Boosfer turned to him, “See! Even he agrees.” While gesturing to him with both arms. Baablu scoffed, something he does too much.
“Let’s just go.”

The inside of the building was much cooler, having already turned on the air conditioning system because some of the teachers (including Baablu) could not handle weather over seventy fahrenheit.
Students crowded the halls, having three minutes until they had to be in their classes. The busiest time between passing periods.
Wemmbu was almost being crushed by the amount of them in the same spot as him. He was standing alongside Baablu because Boosfer had headed off to his own class since he was a senior. Or, a super senior.
It wasn’t that the oldest brother was stupid, he was not allowed to drop out, he was also intentionally staying in school to prevent himself from graduating while also keeping both of his younger brother’s sanity intact.
But more importantly, he refused to inherit their father’s place.
When he eventually graduates, which will most likely be through pity, that would be when the inevitable would arrive.
The teachers knew exactly who the three brothers were. But the students did not, they did not have their last names listed anywhere. Only Wemmbu, Baablu, and Boosfer. Three normal brothers and students at a normal high school.
Yeah, normal.
Completely normal.
The last bell rung, Baablu must have slipped away earlier without Wemmbu noticing because he was no where to be seen.
Conveniently, Wemmbu was right in front of his class, Baablu must have dropped him off here while he was lost in his thoughts.
He walked in, the door was open and... Barely anyone was here. Just his table partner, Parrot X 2. Like, who names their kid that? Who even names their kid Wemmbu? Never mind.
He made his way over to his seat next to Parrot, who looked like he was taking mental notes of everything that the teacher was doing. Thankfully, this specific teacher did not care that he was late, he knew who his father was and what would happen to him if he marked him tardy. Or what he would think would happen. In reality, Wemmbu would take the beating, not the adult, never the adult. The adult was always right in every situation-
"Yo?" Parrot spoke to him while nudging his shoulder, "You good, bro?" Wemmbu nodded instantly, deepening Parrot's suspicion. "Huh... Okay." His eyes narrowed as he brought his attention back to the front of the classroom where the teacher had written the daily agenda.
"Textbooks." He announced, everyone stood up. Parrot specifically, shot up out of his chair rushed over to get his and Wemmbu's textbooks, since he knew that Wemmbu preferred not to interact with others. He was the teacher's pet after all, nothing more.
Wemmbu nodded to him as he sat down, gesturing a silent thank you. Parrot sat and instantly locked in, flipping to the exact page first try. Wemmbu tried to do the same, but failed. Parrot grabbed his book without warning, and succeeded once again. Wemmbu shot him a frown while the other did the complete opposite.
The teacher got everyone's attention with the sound of a marker cap being taken off.
He started to write the equations on the board that would be needed for the-
Test...
Wemmbu was done for.
