Chapter Text
Louds like to Party!
The final bell rang at Royal Woods Elementary, and all the students were swarming to get out and get their vacation started. One student in particular was Lana Loud. She was going home as a hero to herself and frogs everywhere.
She was livid after hearing Mrs. Johnson was going to make Lincoln’s class dissect live frogs. She was fully prepared to take the frogs and run, until her big brother told her she could just talk to the principal. And sure enough, it worked. Instead, the class worked on these computer simulations that wouldn’t harm any frogs.
But that wasn’t the only reason to celebrate. A certain white-haired boy had already put some fliers in his classmates’ lockers. These fliers detailed a special event the Loud house was holding later this week.
“I wish I could be there Lincoln, but I’m going to Hawaii for spring break. My dads just surprised me.” Clyde just got done explaining to his best friend why we wouldn’t be in town for the week.
Even though he already knew about it, Lincoln still feigned surprise at the news. “Oh, ok. Well, I hope you have fun buddy. Send me some pictures when you get the chance.”
“Right back at you.” The two boys gave each other a hug before Clyde walked back to his dad’s car to head to the airport.
After watching Clyde and his dads drive off, Lincoln went to tell his sisters his plan for at least one night during spring break.
It was Friday night and Lori Loud was ecstatic. It was spring break and she was able to convince her parents to let her have a party. She had to make sure they could trust her though, so she was making sure it was sophisticated. Everything quiet, organized, and grown up.
Lori was setting stuff up in the basement. Her parents had already gone out for date night, and she was making sure everything was perfect. While she was in the basement, she heard some noise coming from the living room. After making her way up to the living room, she found her siblings with a bunch of random stuff around them including Luna’s amps, the twins’ bouncers, and what looked like a chocolate fountain.
“Guys!” Lori caught her sibling’s attention. “What are you all doing? This stuff doesn’t look appropriate for a sophisticated party.”
Luan came in with Mr. Coconuts. “It isn’t. This stuff is for our separate party.”
Lori got confused. “Separate party?”
“Mom and Dad didn’t tell you?” Lincoln spoke up. “We asked if we could throw a party while they went out too.”
“Oh.” Was Lori’s response. “Alright, just keep it up here and send my classmates to the basement when you see them.”
“No problem.” That’s when there was a knock at the door. “I’ll get it.” Lincoln opened the door to see Bobby and Ronnie Anne. They entered the house and Lori led Bobby to the basement before he could ask why they were leaving what he thought was the party.
A couple hours later, the upstairs party was in full swing.
Luna was rocking out on her guitar, the twins were bouncing around, Lisa was gorging on junk food alongside Lily, Lincoln was showing off his party tricks, Lucy was holding seances, Luan was telling jokes with Mr. Coconuts, and Lynn was basically running around getting into random contest with anyone she can find. Which, at that moment was arm wrestling Mollie and a high schooler, at the same time.
Now, some might think that Lori was stewing in her own despair at her unsuccessful party. Well, they’d be wrong. By this point, Lori was already noticing how much fun everyone was having upstairs, so she just said, ‘What the heck?’ and announced her new attitude by yelling out she Leni are having an impromptu fashion contest in the basement, which many ran downstairs to join.
Everyone was having the time of their lives that night.
Well, almost everyone.
While the party at the Loud House was going on, a certain next-door neighbor was trying to get some sleep. Unfortunately, Mr. Grouse was getting anything but thanks to the extra racket keeping him up tonight.
It was bad enough when the old man had to listen to the regular noise every day, but it got even worse on special occasions. Sometimes he wondered why he even put up with it anymore at his age.
Well, while he was up, he might as well take another look at that retirement home that had a vacancy. He remembered it being called Sunset something.
Well Fed
Lynn Sr was in the kitchen putting the finishing touches on his famous wiener schnitzel. A Wednesday classic in the Loud House. It was dinner time and the family cook took out a couple of oven mitts to carry the dish to the table.
“Ok everyone, hope you’re hungry for some-“
The Loud patriarch was interrupted when out of nowhere, his only son came barreling into the dining room and crashed into him, causing dinner to fly out of his hands and onto the floor.
As the girls came over to help the two up, Rita asked her son what happened that caused him to run into the room like that. Lincoln explained to his mother that,
“I was coming down the stairs, until I slipped on someone’s skateboard.” As he was holding up the skateboard, everyone suddenly looked over to Lana, knowing he was referring to her. That’s when they noticed that the six-year-old tomboy was currently on her hands and knees, chowing down on the now spoiled dinner, alongside Charles, Cliff, Walt, and Geo.
Lana’s only response was a quick “Huh?” with her mouth full, that made everyone grimace in disgust.
“Sorry about dinner dad.” Lincoln turned back to his father.
“It’s fine son.” Lynn Sr responded. “It was just a dish I worked an hour and a half on.” One quick glare from his wife shut his complaining down. “But what’s important is that we’re both alright.” The man finished with a hint a fear.
Rita accepted that response. She then looked down to the spilled food again and questioned, “Well now what are we gonna do for dinner?”
That’s when all the Loud kids looked at each other with growing smiles on their faces, realizing that this rare opportunity just fell into their lap.
“PIZZA!”
Now full from a satisfying meal, the Loud kids were now preparing to go to bed in the bathroom.
“Dinner was literally great.” Lori spoke up as she was looking in the mirror.
“I know.” Lola just spat out some toothpaste. “Why can’t Daddy feed us good food like that all the time?” She asked
“You know how pop star is.” Luna chimed in while applying her face cream. “He’s just gonna hit us with the ‘big family, small budget’ talk like he always does.”
“Guess it was fun while it lasted.” Lynn Jr admitted while she was picking her nose. “Back to the boring basics.”
“Maybe.” Lincoln steps up with a smile on his face. “But I wouldn’t bet on it just yet.”
His sisters are confused by this, but Luan comments, “That’s his ‘idea’ voice. You got a plan Lincoln?”
“Oh yeah.”
“Those that mean I can get out now?” Lana is shown to be sitting in the bathtub. Upset over dinner being initially ruined cause of her, Dad forced her to take a bath as punishment. With soap.
Lori looked at her phone and told her, “Five more minutes.” This made the young mechanic grumpily sink into the water.
The next afternoon, the Loud parents had just entered the house after coming back from the grocery store. They were about to enter the kitchen when they looked over to see their kids dressed in costumes while sitting at the dinner table.
“The Loud Kids’ Congress is now open!” Lincoln started the meeting with a bang of one of his sneakers on the table. “The floor is now open for discussion for new dinner suggestions. Who would like to go first?”
Lynn Sr was confused about that statement. What did they mean by new dinner suggestions. Was his cooking suddenly not good enough for his kids? As he was about to speak up, he was stopped by his wife.
“Honey…” Lynn Sr started before Rita interrupted.
“I know you love your recipes. But you have to admit, this is the most organized they have been about anything.” Rita was surprised how her kids were debating something without it devolving into a fight. “Let’s just see how this plays out first.”
Reluctantly, the Loud patriarch stood silently and let the kids talk.
Luna raised her hand. “Might I suggest Bangers and Mash fellow dudes?” Her voice was heavy with the British accent. Lincoln wrote the suggestion down.
“Could they be made with blood sausage?” Lucy asked. “Those are the best kind.”
“Sounds creative.” Lincoln commented. “Lola?”
“How about a great big cake with lots of frosting and candy.” The little princess suggested with a big smile. Though Lincoln had to bring her back down to earth.
“Not exactly dinner food. But I like we’re your heads at.”
Lana raised her hand. “I’ve got some ideas.”
“I’m assuming it involves eating insects.” Lisa piped up, unamused.
Lana grew a little nervous. “I’ve got two ideas.”
“Is it something we feed the pets.” Lori asked with a knowing look.
Lana was now frowning. “I have one idea.”
“Is it even food?” Lincoln asked with his own frown. With that, Lana just sat back down while crossing her arms.
While the kids were throwing around more suggestions, the parents were impressed by how they were able to give each other a chance to speak and debate without arguing. Eventually, the kids wrote down what they wanted Dad to try to cook and gave the list to him.
While still a little hesitant, Lynn Sr decided, “Alright gang. Let’s try em.”
That night, Dad decided to try his hand at this feta and cherry tomato pasta Leni had suggested. She showed him some videos on how other people have made it to give him some references. After gathering all the ingredients he needed, the family chef took a crack at the dish, while adding his own flare to it.
At dinner that night, all the kids took a bite of the pasta and were amazed by it. To Lynn Sr, it felt good to hear his kids actually praise his cooking rather than eat with deadpan expressions all the time.
After everyone was done eating, Lincoln concluded the evening by proposing from now on, they vote on dinner at the end of every week. Birthdays, holidays, and special occasions not withstanding of course.
“All in favor say ‘aye’.” Lincoln announced.
“Aye!” Everyone called out.
(Mini) That Went Shell
After Mrs. Johnson assigned the partners for the egg project, Lincoln immediately gave the egg to Ronnie Anne, telling her it would be safer at her house.
A week later, Ronnie Anne walked into class with a perfectly intact egg in her hand.
Those two enjoyed that waffle breakfast alongside Clyde and Penelope.
The same can’t be said for Rusty and Girl Jordan.
