Notes:

So I know I promised more chapters of this but I think I might end it at 8 because I'm very happy with what I have.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Micah stirred awake early the next morning. Beside him Michelle was still asleep and she was shivering. He forgot how cold it could get outside at night. He didn’t want to wake her, but he had to do something. He couldn’t just let his girlfriend sit here shivering.

Wait.

Yesterday had actually happened?

Michelle was actually his girlfriend?

A small smile grew on his lips as he thought of yesterday’s events, Michelle grabbing his arm while asleep, Michelle’s confession, him kissing her and her agreeing to be his girlfriend.

Micah glanced over at the cold Michelle who was curled up in a ball next to him. His arm tightened around her almost automatically when he remembered his task at hand, get her warm.

Micah moved slightly, repositioning himself so he could pick her up and bring her inside. But that movement was enough to have woken her up. He stilled instantly when she shifted away and started to stretch, yawning in the process.

She then turned, her sleep filled eyes meeting his.

He couldn’t help but chuckle at the expression she was making at him.

“What’s so funny?” She asked him, groggily.

“Nothing. You just look cute when you first wake up.” He replied sincerely.

“Ha, right.” She replied sarcastically, before moving to stand up.

Micah followed her movements as if it was fate itself controlling him.

“We should get you inside where it’s warm.” Micah told Michelle, placing his hand of her back and directing her towards the door.

“Micah, I’m fine.” Michelle replied, allowing him to guide her.

“Michelle, respectfully, you were shivering in your sleep.”

That earned him a light laugh and then a small sigh of relief when they closed the door behind them.

Micah, knowing they probably wouldn’t be able to rejoin their groups without waking them up, decided to take Michelle to the kitchen.

Michelle sat on a stool while Micah moved to turn the kettle on. He got out her favourite pink mug and sat it on the counter before turning to her.

“Do you want your normal, or something else?” He asked unsure.

“My normal?”

“The tea you drink almost every morning.” He clarified.

“You kept track of what I drink every morning?” She asked him, an amused smile touching her lips.

Micah looked away quickly, feeling his cheeks heat up in embarrassment.

He heard a quiet laugh come from Michelles direction before he got an answer.

“I’ll just have some hot chocolate please.”

Micah, having been grateful that she had let that go, turned and took out the ingredients. He quickly made her hot chocolate before turning to her and handing it over in silence. He watched as she took it in her hands and took the first sip. She gave him a thumbs up before returning to drinking her warm beverage.

Okay, good she liked it.

Now he just needed to grab her a blanket, or two.

He started moving towards the hall linen cabinet when Michelle interrupted his mission.

“Where you going?” She asked sheepishly, grabbing his hand as he passed.

Micah turned to face her, only to realize she looked nervous.

That made him smile, she was rarely openly clingy. Her being willing to ask meant she trusted him a lot.

“I’m just gonna grab you a blanket from the closet. I’ll be two seconds. Promise.” He said, offering a smile before leaning down to give her a quick kiss and disappearing to the hall.

He promptly returned with a thick, fuzzy grey blanket, that to be frank, looked like he had skinned a large animal for. He hoped it would be enough to warm her up.

When Michelle saw it, her eyebrows knit together in confusion.

“Micah, what is that?” She asked bewildered.

“The biggest blanket I could find!” He replied proudly.

She gave him a weird look which made him feel a bit self conscious.

“What? You were really cold earlier.” He defended, his smile slipping.

To which Michelle smiled and rolled her eyes at him, and held her hand out for it.

He handed it over to her and moved to sit on the stool beside her as she wrapped it around herself.

They had been sitting in the silence of the kitchen for a while when Shiloh barged in. Or rather, flew in. She halted to a stop when she saw Michelle.

“There you are! We thought you got kidnapped or something!” Shiloh exclaimed. Before she evidently noticed the blanket, her eyebrows practically went to her hairline.

“Michelle, what did you have to kill to get that thing?”

Michelle just laughed and glanced at Micah quickly before throwing him under the bus.

“Micah got it out for me because I was cold.” She said with a smirk.

Traitor.

Shiloh then turned to him.

“You’ve got bad taste.” She stated bluntly.

“Hey! I’ve got great taste thank you very much.” He said, his voice rising defensively.

“Oh really?” Michelle teased.

“Yes! I mean I have you as a girlfriend so..” He said meeting her eyes, but was quickly interrupted by the sound of Shiloh’s gagging.

Michelle’s cheeks turned bright red as Shiloh started to over react at his statement.

“Alright, alright. That’s enough of that.” She said grabbing Michelle’s hand, dragging her to the door, presumably to go back to their sleepover.

Michelle didn’t protest as she was being dragged out, but she did turn and wave before disappearing with Shiloh.

He watched as they went, sighing slightly. He knew that the teasing would be the new normal until people got used to them being a couple.

But teasing or no teasing, he was glad to have Michelle in his life.

Micah crept back into the lounge an hour later, only to be met with all the boys being awake and waiting for him.

“And where were you this fine morning?” Judah asked, crossing his arms and raising his eyebrow at him.

“Umm” Micah stuttered out a reply, looking to Elijah for help.

Elijah only shook his head at him, practically saying ‘You’re on your own’.

“Well come on, we don’t have all day.” Judah prompted.

Micah reluctantly sighed before answering,

“I was with Michelle.”

Several dramatic gasps sounded around the room at the revelation, Judah’s being the worst.

“Oh, the betrayal! Ditching the boys for a girl.” Judah exclaimed loudly before fake fainting onto the couch.

“How could you man.” Josiah added.

“Oh, like you wouldn’t have done it had it been Gala.” Elijah chipped in sarcastically.

Josiahs cheeks heated slightly before he turned to Elijah.

“Wait. Why are you defending Micah?” Josiah asked confused.

“You knew didn’t you?” Daniel asked.

“The double betrayal!” Alex gasped.

Micah only rolled his eyes at that. Man, when did everyone in the agency start a drama club.

“Guys, chill out. She’s my girlfriend. I’m allowed to see her.” Micah stated trying to get ahold of the situation.

“Yes you are, but you practically ditched us for her.” Daniel stated.

“That wasn’t on purpose! We were just talking on the balcony and then we kinda fell asleep outside.” Micah explained.

“And you two just happened to find each other out there?” Josiah interjected sarcastically.

“No, I went to the kitchen for a snack and saw her talking to Elijah outside.” He said defensively.

“You left us too?” Judah exclaimed, pivoting to Elijah.

Elijah only held up his hands and said,

“Unrelated.”

Judah turned back to Micah, probably assuming Elijah wouldn’t say anymore.

“So you’ve been gone since last night?” He asked.

“Yeah, but like I said, not on purpose. We fell asleep.” Micah repeated.

“You fell asleep? HOW?” Daniel exclaimed.
