Chapter 6: Plan and the beginning of recovery; part 1

Summary:

Keigo struggles, commits cannibalism
and Shouto gets some more shitty treatment.

Notes:

Sorry it's so short but I haven't had writing time and depression is currently an unpleasant bitch in my ass. I also liked this ending. Feel free to criticize in the comments, I am all for feedback, good or bad. Anyway, enjoy, and tell me if you did or not!

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Hawks pov:

“Okay, so if we show up” he gestures vaguely at Shouto and himself, “Then we might relax Touya enough to explain?”

Keigo looks up at greenie, and the sparkles in the kid’s eyes was slightly terrifying considering the current circumstances.

“Yep! Then is T- Shouto-kun can explain with you, so they might not put up a fight, at least we hope”

Keigo internally groans, knowing that the chances of this going even remotely well are very small.

“Well, I guess we can't do much until Todoroki is able to uh- function. Take a break kid, go see your class or something.”

The greenette nods enthusiastically, scrambling up and bowing at Keigo before quickly exiting. Followed by Eraserhead and Todoroki.

Keigo sighs, putting his head in his hands. He is so tired, being commission president isn’t as easy as he thought it would be.

He is snapped from his thoughts when Yagi walks in, looking sympathetic and holding two bentos.

“Hey All Might, Whatcha got there?”

He asks, his nose picking up on the delicious teriyaki smell.

Yagi chuckles, sitting across from him and setting the bento between his elbows.

“Here Hawks, take this and eat. You can’t help on the mission if you're exhausted and hungry.”

He sighs, nodding at the skinny man in thanks as he takes the bento and pops off the lid, immediately being slammed in the face by the smell. He grabs the chopsticks on the side of the container, eagerly digging in, melting at the flavourful chicken. (AN:

“Well, I’ll take that as a complement to Inko’s cooking.”

Keigo was too busy stuffing his face to reply other than nodding aggressively.

Yagi smiled fondly, before popping open his own bento and eating with much less aggression.

“So, with all that's going on, how are you feeling right now? I would assume that the circumstances aren’t desirable for you.”

Keigo resists the urge to groan, instead taking a slow and deep breath to help calm him. He sets his chopsticks down to hold his head, fingers tightening around his hair.

“None of this shit is anywhere near desirable.”

Yagi smiles sadly, looking at Keigo with an unfamiliar expression.

“I know, but I mean mentally how is it draining you?”

Keigo doesn’t think before the automatic reply slipped through his lips, an old habit from fear of being found out.

“I’m fine. We should worry about the others if anyone.”

Yagi’s eyes narrow, still softened with kindness but also keen observation and something mildly terrifying. Understanding.

“Hawks, don’t lie to me. I’m an old man. But I used to be a hero too.”

Keigo sighed, not bothering to hide it at all.

“I know All Might but truthfully I— ugh I don't know I’ll be fine– better when we get Touya safe.”

Yagi's eyes softened again as he nodded.

“Alright. I suppose that's an at least partially acceptable answer. Being away from partners is difficult.”

Keigo groaned loudly, covering his face with his hands, to hide the mild blush.

“All Might, with all due respect, please shut the everloving hell up.”

In the infirmary:

Izuku P.O.V.:

The nurse filling in for Recovery Girl was fussing over Shouto, and kept grabbing him. He very much did not like that if his expression of severe disgust was anything to go by.

Katsuki was idly picking at some residue on his jacket sleeve, trying desperately not to start screaming.

Shouto’s eyes were darting around the room as if there were thousands of silent, invisible bees constantly grabbing his attention.

“Child, if Recovery Girl was here, you wouldn’t be able to be healed. When did you last eat anything?”

The nurse asked, pausing the frantic movement to look at Shouto directly in the face, waiting rather impatiently for an answer.

“I– maybe two days?”

He whispered, barely audible over the beeping of the small portable heart monitor. He shrugged, fidgeting with the hoodie saying Musutafu Precinct’s sleeve. That being the only thing available when they took his costume.

The nurse scoffed, very rudely considering the current less than desirable circumstances.

“What the hell kid? You got some eating disorder or something? You’re not even really fat!”

Well that pissed Izuku off. But before he could comment, Katsuki shot up. His crimson eyes narrowed on the woman. His hands crackled loudly, as he shook with barely contained rage.

“What the fuck did you just say to him? Do you know how fucking stupid it is to say that to someone!”

The nurse stepped back nervously, raising her hands placatingly.

“S- Sorry! I swear I wasn't trying to be rude!”

Katsuki snarled, but Izuku pulled him back by the shoulder, shoving him down on the plastic chair.

“Kacchan. Stop, now’s not the time.”

He glared, but didn’t fight back. Shouto was tense, as the nurse looked back with barely hidden disgust.

“Well, you need something light. Otherwise your stomach will reject it. Do you have anything?”

Her tone was just plain enough to not get scolded for snark.

Shouto shook his head minutely.

The nurse sighed dramatically.

“I suppose I can go ask Lunch Rush for simple white rice or plain ramen. Stay here.”

She stomped out rather grumpily, the door closing roughly and causing Shouto to flinch. His leg bounced on the tile, as he sat on the edge of the bed. Izuku noticed the very deliberate avoidance of any eye contact. So did Katsuki.

“Well, what the fuck icyhot?!”

Katsuki snapped, his voice loud and gravely. Shouto flinched again, and Izuku watched his boyfriend’s face fall.
