They ran
And ran.
And ran.
Until their legs felt like they would fall off. Two teens rush into the ER doors of the small town hospital, A tall muscular blonde holding a limp black and white hair boy.
Next to him was a short cut brunette girl with tears in her eyes.
None of them needed to say anything before nurses rushed in calling for a doctor and rushing the bi haired boy on a table and rolling him away while the blonde and brunette stood there.
The girl collapsed while the boy slowly crouched next to her both exhausted.
It was really… bright… and white?
When Sakura opened his eyes, he could have sworn he was basically seeing the light.
The bed under him was comfortable, around him was warm, this was all too good to be true. Well he never had comfort like this.
He wasn’t in heaven right?
Either way there wouldn’t be a spot for him… he is a murder after all.
Sakura fingers gripped on the bed sheets, thin but a luxury for him.
His eyes scanned the hospital room? His eyes landed on the brunette girl sitting in a plastic chair. Her arms folded on top of each other with her chin on top.
Sakura stared at her… Oh. The nice girl at the cafe who was weirdly nice to him.
He couldn’t lie, he felt guilty but at the same time why was she here? Why was he here!?
Sakura managed to move a single inch before Kotoha immediately sat up.
Sakura jumped seeing her suddenly sit up.
”Sakura you awake…” Kotoha muttered softly.
Sakura nodded, “Yeah…” He didn’t know what to say.
What could he say?
He didn’t know her, but somehow even thinking that didn’t feel right. She cared, obviously, but why?
Kotoha felt immediate relief seeing Sakura awake and fine.
Though he was able to read… in every life he was.
”You passed out… Stress on top of malnutrition and other things… You don’t eat much.” Kotoha muttered looking him in the eyes while he finally held eye contact with her.
He nodded slowly, confused but what more could he ask. He muttered “I don’t get that hungry.”
That was a lie they both knew, Mostly Kotoha.
Both of them sat in silence, until Hiragi peaked his head in. Like a cat, Sakura jumped again. Kotoha could practically see the imaginary cat ears on his head.
”Ah, You’re awake.” Hiragi muttered in relief as he slid his phone into his pocket. He contained ”You’re… You’re a great fighter, manage to hold off all on your own.”
That familiar blush colored Sakura cheeks, “i-It’s nothin.” Sakura muttered humbly.
Both Kotoha and Hiragi made eye contact and looked back at Sakura.
”I get it your gonna be a new first year of Fruin.” the blonde sharped tooth boy muttered. “I’m sure you’ll fit right in.”
”Yeah… but I have to say the delinquents like you are trying to play hero?” Sakura said bluntly.
F*ck Sakura was blunt as ever but… he could have sworn he heard those words before somewhere. Before he could speak, Sakura continued he paused for a moment the memories of the fight on the street came back to him he looked down, his fist clenching the blanket.
”So that's what Furin is all about, huh?” Sakura mutters.
”Wha?…” Hiragi pauses but gets cut off.
”Yes.” Kotoha says firmly. “I told you the story Sakura, Bofurin protects this town.”
Sakura nods for a moment before muttering while a small blush creeps up his neck as he grabs the collar of his shirt pulling it over his mouth trying to ‘causally’ hide the blush. “Cool… I think that's cool. I wanna be a part of that.”
Kotoha smiles. Hiragi eyes soften. Sakura avoids eye contact with them, the silence stretches for a moment as a nurse steps in with a gentle smile. “Visiting hours are over, sadly. Please check the visiting hours and come back later.”
Kotoha, and Hiragi nod for a moment meanwhile Sakura looks down and imminently Kotoha can read Sakura how he assumes they won’t be back she quickly rest her hand on top of his and speaks gently to him “We’ll come back the moment visiting hours allow us to come in, and I’ll bring you omurice.”
Sakura head shoots up then tries to brush it off he blushes and nods not needing to say anything.
Both Kotoha and Hiragi step out the door to Sakura hospital room and they both stand in the hallway for a moment.
Kotoha doesn’t get a moment to think before she suddenly feels a hand on her shoulder.
She flinched and looked up, seeing Hiragi looking at her with soft, serious eyes.
Muttering something only she can hear.
”You need to tell me everything…”
Kotoha glanced down thinking of her words for a moment, then she replied to him.
”What… Is there something to tell.” She muttered to him.
Hiragi sighed, Seemed like maybe she was as clueless about this as he was.
”I thought about it… What miracle could have caused this.” Kotoha spoke quietly. “I decided it doesn’t matter… we have him back. That is all that matters, we can't repeat the future.” Kotoha started off sadly and soon ended with her being determined.
Hiragi’s eyes widened then softened, letting out a deep breath and rubbing the back of his neck understanding where she was coming from.
“We have to tell the others… about him, this.” Hiragi said in a low voice to her.
Kotoha thinks for a moment Hiragi is right, seems like everyone Sakura was close with or at least at what it seems remembers him. Everyone is probably as confused as them if not freaking out.
”We have to do it, text everyone and tell them to meet at Pothos.” Kotoha muttered.
Hiragi nodded, pulling out his phone and nudging to the direction of the exit, speaking low to him “Lets go then.” Kotoha nods and they both begin to walk.
