Chapter Text
Confusion filled the face of the man with black hair, his eyes looked around cautiously. He knew that he was in a hospital obviously, but which one? A hand brushed through his hair, his eyebrows furrowed, and by possibly each second, he could feel his frustration increase.
His gaze swept by a clock he didn’t bother to read. Skeppy felt the uncountable minutes fly by, and it made him uncomfortably odd. ‘Could it be that I'm actually in a mental hospital or something..??’ thought the man frantically, but reassured himself that mental hospitals don’t even look like this.
The man kept mumbling under his breath, "It's just a room, there’s nothing to worry about.”, over and over again, but the tone he was saying it in was quite distressed, confused, and an emotion that the man has always neglected.
The continuous chant was supposed to bring comfort, but it only brought unwelcome feelings, and a terrible headache. Skeppy was tugging on his hair in pain.
Quiet whines and whimpers escaped from him, his whole body felt incredibly numb and fragile that it could break at any possible minute.
The man’s brain fog worsened, and his breathing got tight.
A creaking sound could be heard from the door, it revealed two ladies whose expressions immediately turned into concern and worry.
“Skeppy!” That voice sounded very familiar.
The man tried to turn his head to where the voice was coming from, he could feel the pain increase as he did so. “U-ugh…”
Her image was clouded by the hot tears that welled up in Skeppy’s eyes. “P-puffy…” he sniffled, “It hurts..”
His surroundings were moving quickly, and he felt soft hands attach something on his mouth and nose. His breathing was still quick and vulnerable, but it wasn’t as intense as a few minutes ago.
Skeppy’s eyes felt relaxed, and things were more visible to him.
He tilted his head to meet his friend sitting beside the bed, and the nurse who stood there professionally.
“You’ll eat your breakfast after you finish with the oxygen mask,” said the nurse,“I’ll be back in five, maybe ten minutes to take off the mask.”
The nurse shut the door behind her, leaving the two friends alone in awkward silence.
Puffy’s sigh rang through the room, “Listen, I’m sorry…”
“For what?” Skeppy sat up, puzzled by what Puffy meant by that.
“For bringing you to a party that you didn’t want to go to, I…I didn’t know that this would happen! I’m just so sorry.” She lightly facepalmed.
“Well I’m going to be honest, I don’t remember what happened last night…I mean I remember us going obviously! But like what else happened?”
“You don’t remember what happened?” Puffy looked at him with disbelief, “How can you forget something so traumatic?”
“I don’t know, I just did.” He shrugged lamely.
“Alright, I’ll tell you what happened, so you basically almost got strangled to death.” Her words came out bluntly.
“What the fuck, am I that annoying to the point someone almost killed me” he chuckled, “I feel honored.” he said weakly with sarcasm.
“Uh no, you were actually strangled by something unknown, nobody knows what it was, and the police are still tryna find out what it is.”
Skeppy stayed in silence for a little while, “Eh, that’s weird…”
Puffy agreed with his statement, “Yeah dude I swear right” she crossed her arms around her chest, something wanted to escape her mouth and it was clearly seen on her face.
Skeppy knew that expression very well, “If you want to say something you can.” He said calmly.
“Oh nah, it isn’t anything important. It’s just that my job interview is soon, I’m getting really nervous about it.” Skeppy looked at how she was fiddling with the ends of her sleeve, that’s clearly not what she wanted to say.
“Dude, you’re getting a job?? Holy crap…”
“Yeah…I hope it goes well.”
“What is it, is it like your old job?” He asked.
“Nope, I now work at a CD store man, pretty cool, right??” She smiled at the thought.
“I swear I’ll never understand your obsession with music.” Skeppy rolled his eyes, jokingly.
“Ugh whatever you’re just too boring!”
The door creaked open, and the nurse came to view. “Alright, It’s time to take off the mask.”
The middle aged woman walked up to Skeppy and took off the mask, “Now, you have to eat your breakfast, it’ll help you heal faster, sweetheart.”
Skeppy blushed at the name from embarrassment, “Yeah, I’ll eat it…”
The nurse left the room again after she heard him answer.
“No way, you’re blushing for a woman with wrinkles? Do you want a sugar mommy?” Puffy after the elder left the room.
“You’re making things up!” replied the man, “It was from embarrassment!”
“Hm, yeah whatever you say.” Puffy said with malice. She looked at her wrist watch, “Oh my appointment’s in like thirty minutes, I gotta go.”
She stood up from the chair and took something sparkly out of her bag, a diamond. “Here’s a gift, by the way.”
Skeppy took it gently into his hands, “Gosh man, thank you!” Skeppy's eyes lightened with happiness, despite his weak state.
“No problem, bro.” She waved goodbye to Skeppy as her right hand was on the door’s handle.
“Bye.” He waved back.
