My Little Princess, Not Yet

Chapter Text

    Emergency?

Keilusa glanced at Kishiar with a raised eyebrow, silently asking if he had any clue on what was going on. Kishiar shook his head, equally clueless. To outsiders, “Code Black” probably would sound like some dramatic school club code. But to Class Four, it was the ultimate nightmare alert.

It meant they had been discovered by the one person they feared most— Enon.

And the mission was clear — hide every crossdresser and get Yudrein the hell out of there immediately.

“You go!!” Kanna shoved Yudrein toward the back door like he was a fragile package that needed emergency evacuation.

But Devran’s next words made her freeze mid-push. “Hyung is in the building!!”

     “WHAT!!!”

“He’s already on our floor!!” Devran panted, looking two seconds away from passing out.

“How did this happen?! He was here for half the day — why did he come back?!” Gakane wailed, clutching his hair in terror.

     “Maybe he forgot something?”

Revlin offered weakly, trying to be the voice of reason. But no one listened. Positive thoughts and Enon’s name could not coexist in the same sentence. Their brains had officially blue-screening.

“Who snitched on us?!” Hinn glared at Devran with pure suspicion. “Was it you?!”

“It wasn’t me!!” Devran cried, looking genuinely betrayed. “I was out there risking my life to save our asses!”

“You’re terrified of him.” Hinn shot back. “If he so much as stared at you for three seconds, you’d spill everything before he even opened his mouth.”

“IT WAS FINN!!!” Devran finally screamed, throwing his friend under the bus.

The whole class went dead silent.

“Hyung gave him money and he spilled everything!!!”

Everyone had the exact same horrifying thought at that moment — Traitor.

They knew sending Finn on that mission was a risky gamble. But they genuinely believed his burning hatred for Class Two would overpower his love of money. They were sure Devran would be the first to crack under pressure — the guy looked like he’d fold faster than a cheap lawn chair if Enon so much as glanced at him.

Who would’ve thought the traitor would be Finn?!

.Now, not only was Yudrein about to get grounded into the next century by his terrifying older brother… The entire Class Four was staring down the barrel of Enon’s wrath. Lectures. Scolding. And a very real, 100% chance of getting properly smacked around. And knowing Enon, it definitely wouldn’t end there.

Just imagining the upcoming hell made their eyes water. Tears clung stubbornly to their lashes as pure, unfiltered dread washed over them. Some were already mentally writing their wills. Others were wondering if transferring schools mid-festival was still an option.

Kanna silently added Finn to her hit list for later execution. But the loud voices echoing from the corridor snapped her out of her murderous daydream, forcing her into full crisis mode.

“Jump out the window!!” she blurted.

Yudrein stared at her in pure disbelief. “Are you out of your mind? We’re on the fourth floor.”

“There’s a thin concrete ledge outside!”

“It’s not meant for people to stand on!”

“Ahhhhh?!! Then where the hell am I supposed to hide you?!”

Kanna clutched her hair like she was one second away from ripping it out. In her panic, she glanced sideways searching for a way out, and finally noticed Revlin and the others who were crossdressing desperately crawling under the tables, backpacks in tow, trying to change at lightspeed.

Their figures looked like a bad spy comedy.

Kanna’s eyes shifted, landing on the table near the back door. She immediately turned toward the visitors, momentarily forgetting their presence altogether.

Keilusa and Kishiar were sitting there like VIP audience members at a private show — perfectly calm, and elegantly sipping their drinks, clearly enjoying the chaos far too much. Kanna forced a sweet, apologetic smile as she spoke to them.

“I’m so sorry, dear visitors, but please bear with us for just a moment.”

Just as she finished speaking, Kanna spun around as though she was possessed, grabbed Yudrein by the collar of his shirt and without giving him a chance to react, she dragged him toward the table near the back door. In one swift motion, she yanked the tablecloth up, pulled him down, and pushed him underneath, letting the fabric fall back into place to conceal him completely.

She dashed away briefly, only to return moments later with Yudrein’s backpack in hand. Lifting the tablecloth again, she tossed the bag toward him.

“Change your clothes.” she ordered quickly.

The cloth dropped back down, plunging him into darkness.

Kanna straightened up, turned to the rest of the classroom, and clapped her hands sharply to draw everyone’s attention.

“Everyone, please act as naturally as possible!”

Her classmates stared at her like she had just suggested they juggle flaming knives while smiling. Kanna looked toward the two men with a stiff smile on her lips, completely ignoring the gazes of her classmates as if silently pleading for them to join in the act.

Surprisingly, both men nodded so easily in agreement.

The classroom door slammed open with a vengeance barely a second later. Enon stormed in, dragging a very smug-looking Finn under one arm. The traitor was smiling like he’d just won the lottery, happily clutching his blood money in his hand. For someone who had sold out his entire class, Finn looked ecstatically over the moon.

Enon casually tossed Finn aside like a discarded backpack. The happy boy hit the floor with a thud totally unbothered. Enon’s sharp yellow eyes swept across the classroom, his brows furrowed, before locking onto Kanna like a heat-seeking missile.

    “Where is he?”

    “Who?” Kanna asked innocently.

“Don’t play dumb with me. You know damn well who I’m talking about.”

“Oppa, I told you already. Yudrein has been assigned to café promotion. He hasn’t been here all day.” Kanna said, lying as smoothly as a professional con artist.

“Really?” Enon said flashing a fake, annoying smile, “That’s weird. I’ve been all over this damn school, and I still couldn't find him anywhere.”

Of course he hadn’t gone home, Kanna thought. He stubbornly stayed behind just to hunt Yudrein down. How annoyingly dedicated.

“You probably just missed him. He might be taking a nap somewhere—it’s the end of the festival, after all.”

“Didn’t see him, huh?” Enon repeated, his voice dripped with disbelief. “Or do you mean I just didn’t recognize him.”

Kanna’s smile faltered for a split second. “…I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Enon stared into Kanna’s big, unwavering blue eyes for a long moment before letting out a heavy sigh. “Forget it. I’ll find him myself.”

“Oppa, please — we have guests right now. You can’t just tear the place apart!”

Kanna pointed desperately toward the table by the window. Only then did Enon finally notice the two men sitting there like they were enjoying a private show. His expression went blank as he forced a respectful but clearly insincere tone.

“Sunbae-nim… what are you doing here?”

“Hello, hubae~” Kishiar waved lazily with one hand, elegantly crossing his long legs. Keilusa simply nodded in greeting and took a slow, refined sip of his drink.

“Is it unusual for guests to visit a school festival café?” Kishiar asked innocently, his eyes sparkling with mischief. “I thought that was the whole point.”

Enon clicked his tongue. “Huh. I just figured you two would be over at Class Two instead of hanging around here.”

“Ah…Class Two.” Kishiar’s voice stayed light and playful. “Regrettably, I seem to have developed a poor sense of direction today.”

“Poor sense of direction… yeah, right.” Enon scoffed.

“People do get lost during festivals.” Keilusa added calmly, backing his brother up without missing a beat. “It's the busiest time after all.”

Enon stared at the two brothers, thoroughly unamused, then turned back to Kanna, who was glaring daggers at him.

“If it’s only these two, causing a little trouble shouldn’t be a problem.”

But Kanna wasn’t about to let him off the hook that easily. She instantly changed the subject with the grace of a seasoned politician.

“Oppa, you’re the worst!” she wailed, latching onto him like a koala on caffeine. She wrapped her arms around him tightly and continued her dramatic performance. “How could you even think of sending our precious guests to Class Two?!”

“That’s right, oppa!” Hinn jumped in, shaking her head with theatrical sorrow. “Class Two is our eternal sworn enemy! This is betrayal of the highest order!”

The real betrayal was her own brother Finn selling them out for pocket money, but nobody was brave enough to mention it. In fact, the entire class silently agreed to let that particular truth stay buried.

Besides, only Kanna and Hinn had the audacity to speak so boldly in front of Enon. The rest of them stood frozen like soldiers in front of a very scary drill sergeant — lips sealed, eyes wide, barely breathing.

“Oppa, you have absolutely no idea what they’ve put us through during this festival.” Kanna continued, looking up at him with big, pitiful puppy eyes that could win Oscars.

    “Really?” Enon asked, completely unconvinced.

     “Yes!”

The whole class nodded desperately in perfect synchronization. Enon’s gaze slowly drifted across the room, taking in every gaze that looked towards him. He then spoke evenly.

“Is that why you all decided to crossdress?”

The entire class went dead silent the moment those words left Enon’s mouth. Every pair of eyes snapped toward Finn with murderous intent. Kanna looked two seconds away from leaping on him and snapping his neck like a twig. But Finn didn’t even glance up — he was too busy happily hugging his blood money like a greedy little goblin.

“Yudrein, I know you’re here.” Enon called out calmly. “You can come out now… unless you’d prefer to be grounded until college.”

No answer. Not a single rustle. Nothing.

Enon let out a low, dangerous chuckle and pushed his hair back in irritation. “Fine. We’ll do it the hard way.”

He raised his voice like a game show host announcing the final round.

“Anyone willing to block the doors gets a hundred dollars!”

Finn and Hinn immediately bolted like Olympic sprinters — one to each door — planting themselves like overpaid bodyguards. Their loyalty had been bought in seconds.

The second the exits were secured, Enon gently but firmly pushed Kanna aside and started marching toward the tables. Kanna’s heart nearly stopped. She let out a panicked squeak and lunged after him, wrapping both arms around his waist like a human seatbelt and yanking backward with all her strength.

“Oppa, I already told you! He’s not here!”

“If he’s not here.” Enon said, still walking like a tank, “Then you have no reason to stop me from looking.”

“No—! Aaaahhh! What are you all doing?! Quit watching and help me!”

The rest of the class snapped out of their terrified freeze. They stumbled over each other in a chaotic wave, grabbing onto Enon’s arms, shirt, and waist like desperate koalas. A whole flock of tiny chicks desperately trying to halt a determined big brother.

Enon’s irritation level skyrocketed. He kept pushing forward carefully, peeling the little gremlins off him one by one, but these kids had a surprisingly strong grip born of pure fear and survival instinct. They refused to let go.

It was less of a search and more of a slow-motion comedy wrestling match.

Yudrein, still trapped under the table, hadn’t even had time to change out of his clothes. And even if he did, he’d still have to scrub off the makeup or risk instant exposure. Feeling utterly helpless and seconds away from doom, he decided “screw it ” — better to run now and deal with the legendary grounding later.

Besides, there was no way he was letting the man who had just rejected him witness him getting publicly scolded like a naughty puppy.

Taking advantage of the loud chaos above, he started crawling out like a runaway bride on all fours. But just as he peeked out — Enon grabbed the tablecloth and ripped it off with dramatic flair.

A loud, undignified scream erupted, and a disheveled boy clutching his backpack emerged, looking up with teary, panicked eyes.

“Hyung, please don’t hit me!! I didn’t do anything, I swear I’m innocent!!”

Enon clicked his tongue in annoyance and moved on to the next table. The entire Class screamed and piled onto him with all their strength, trying to slow him down, but Enon powered forward anyway. Just as he reached for Yudrein’s table and lifted the cloth—

Yudrein burst out from the opposite side like a panicked puppy, sprinting toward the back door, while holding his backpack. Enon’s eyes widened as he roared at the top of his lungs.

    “STOP RIGHT THERE!!!”

But Yudrein didn't stop. He kept running until he reached the door, then grabbed Finn by the collar and threw him aside, shoving him out of the way without mercy. Just as he was about to open the door, Enon’s voice rang out again — this time laced with a clear threat.

“Open that door and you won't see a single cent of allowance for a whole year.”

    “That's terrible, Oppa!!”

Kanna cried out in genuine horror, her face draining of all color. Losing allowance? That was basically a death sentence in her book.

But Yudrein? It didn’t even matter.

He barely used the money anyway. All the cash his hyung gave him just sat untouched in a drawer in his desk, collecting dust. He had no idea what to spend it on, so the threat landed with all the impact of a gentle breeze.

Without hesitation, he cracked the door open just a little. But before he could slip through, Enon’s voice rang out again, even sharper this time—

“I swear to God, Yudrein. If you walk out that door, I’ll enroll you in every damn private academy in the capital!” Enon shouted, still catching his breath. “You’ll be studying from sunrise till midnight. And if that’s not enough, I’ll drag you to the hospital with me and lock you in my office until my shift ends!”

A collective chill ran down everyone’s spines. Kanna, Gakane, and the others turned pale as ghosts like they’d just heard their death sentence. Even Kishiar flinched at the sheer brutality of the threat. The only one who looked completely unfazed was Keilusa — who genuinely loved studying and saw private academies as a fun weekend activity. In fact, the poor guy probably thought it sounded like a solid plan.

     Yudrein, however, was not Keilusa.

He hated studying with a burning passion. He had even refused to attend any private academies when he started his senior year. Still clutching his backpack like a shield on his face, he slowly turned his head and peeked at Enon through a narrow gap between the bag and his face, studying his older brother’s expression for a moment.

“Wouldn’t that interfere with your work schedule?” Yudrein asked, calmly — though he had taken the threat far more literally than intended. “Besides, private academies are expensive.”

He pointed it out with complete seriousness, as if he was doing Enon a financial favor. Then, he tilted his head slightly, delivering the final blow with deadpan sincerity.

“You’ll regret that after three days.”

While his classmates stared in horror at what he had just said — each of them wondering where he had found the courage to speak to Enon like that when the man was clearly at the peak of his anger — Kishiar was engaged in a battle of his own.

Namely, trying his utmost not to burst out laughing.

The classroom had fallen completely silent. No one dared to speak. No one even seemed willing to breathe too loudly. And yet, in the middle of that suffocating atmosphere, Kishiar's shoulders trembled ever so slightly. The corners of his lips twitched upward despite his best efforts, amusement threatening to break through at any moment. The contrast between Enon's fury and Yudrein's utterly fearless and serious response was simply too much.

Beside him, Keilusa glanced at his younger brother, immediately recognizing the signs of his barely restrained laughter. He let out a quiet sigh before shifting his gaze back to Yudrein.

For a brief moment, genuine sympathy crossed his face.

The poor boy had no idea what kind of attention he had just attracted. Or perhaps worse — he knew, and simply didn't care. Either way, Keilusa found himself sincerely feeling sorry for him.

“That’s your concern?!” Enon said in disbelief. “The tuition fees?!”

“…Hyung appears to have overlooked a significant obstacle.” Yudrein said evenly. “I thought it was worth mentioning.”

Enon’s jaw tightened. He had the sudden urge to grab the boy by the cheeks and stretch them until he no longer had the energy to keep running his mouth. But, somehow, he restrained himself — At least until he caught him — Enon let out a tired sigh and pushed a hand through his hair.

“I swear, one day you're going to drive me into an early grave.”

“That sounds concerning.” Yudrein said seriously.

Enon sighed, finding himself unable to say anything more. “Enough. I'm being serious. Don't take another step.”

Yudrein and Enon exchanged a silent look — or rather, Yudrein did. Enon was unable to see his face, which remained hidden behind the backpack. Quietly, Yudrein weighed every word that had come from his hyung's mouth, considering them one by one. Eventually, he let out a tired sigh of surrender and released his grip on the door.

“That's what I thought. Now step away from the door.”

Enon waved his hand in a lazy shooing motion, signaling Yudrein to step away from the door.

Yudrein obeyed, shuffling sideways from the exit like a crab, all while still clutching his backpack tightly over his face as a makeshift shield. But Enon didn’t stop there — he kept whooshing his hand dramatically, herding the reluctant boy all the way to the middle of the classroom like a very stubborn cat.

Only when Yudrein finally reached the center did Enon stop his hand movements. He glanced down at his own waist and said loudly.

“You brats, let go of me!”

Everyone slowly and reluctantly released their death grips, peeling off him one by one like sad little stickers. Even the ones who had been hiding under the tables crawled out, still half-dressed in their chaotic Mirror Pair outfits. They looked even funnier like that.

    “What the fuck!!”

The second Enon got a proper look at them, his brain short-circuited. He cursed loudly without thinking, nearly collapsing on the spot. One hand flew to the back of his head as if physically trying to contain his rising irritation and prevent his soul from leaving his body.

He previously had assumed they were out roaming around or slacking off now that the festival was ending… but no. These little gremlins had been hiding from him the entire time.

Enon stood there in stunned silence for a moment, staring at the ridiculous scene.

I don’t know whether I should praise their insane dedication… or scold the hell out of them for hiding this from me.

Enon sighed, regaining his composure, and began walking toward Yudrein. Then he stopped in front of him. “Remove that backpack.”

    “Why?”

Yudrein’s hand tightened firmly around his backpack. His response wasn’t defiant — only a quiet request for a reason. Which, naturally, made Enon even more suspicious.

“Maybe so we could actually have a serious conversation?” Enon said, pinching the bridge of his nose.

“I don't see how removing the backpack is relevant.” Yudrein replied calmly. “We can hear each other perfectly fine. Besides, removing it would create additional complications.”

Enon’s teeth were practically grinding. “And what kind of complications are you referring to?”

“…The sort that would not exist if I kept it on?”

    Pfft—

Every head in the room snapped toward the source of the sound.

There was Kishiar, completely folded over the table, clutching his stomach as he tried so desperately to muffle his laughter behind one hand. His shoulders shook violently as if he was having a full-body seizure. The man was openly losing it, treating their collective suffering like prime-time comedy.

The students stared at him with pure betrayal and resentment in their eyes — imaginary tears practically rolling down their cheeks.

Keilusa shot his brother with a sharp elbow to the side, trying to make him stop. But Kishiar couldn’t stop, the man was too far gone — the sheer entertainment value of watching a tiny boy in a female clothes use a backpack as an armor against his terrifying older brother was too much.

On the other hand, Enon, who had been laser-focused on Yudrein, finally reached his breaking point. He lunged forward and grabbed the backpack, yanking it hard.

    Or at least he tried.

Yudrein instantly clamped down like a steel trap, locking the backpack firmly against his face. Enon’s irritation exploded. He started pulling again and again, shouting with uneven breaths.

     “REMOVE THE FUCKING BACKPACK!!!”

     “No.”

Yudrein didn't budge an inch. If anything, his grip got tighter and tighter. His classmates immediately started cheering him on like it was the final round of an underground wrestling match.

     “Don’t let go, Yudrein!”

     “Hold strong!”

“Protect the backpack at all costs!!”

    “Remember the academy!!”

     “Remember the allowance!!”

     “Remember the hospital jail!!!”

“Yudrein! Hold it like your life depends on it!” Devran screamed.

Gakane turned to Devran with a dead-serious expression. “…But isn’t his life actually depending on it right now?”

“Ah, for fuck’s sake — LET GO!!”

Enon roared. He yanked the backpack upward with all his strength, but Yudrein clung to it like a baby koala on its mother’s back — zero chance of letting go. Enon, now completely fed up with this circus, suddenly released the bag and switched tactics. His hands shot to Yudrein’s sides and started tickling mercilessly.

    Yudrein flinched hard. “—!”

He instantly let go of the backpack, bending to shield his ticklish sides. Enon smiled in victory for half a second—

    Thud.

Yudrein’s heel reflexively kicked him right in the shin.

     “Fuck!! That hurts!!”

Enon hissed, fighting the urge to crouch down and clutch his leg. He swallowed the pain and stayed standing tall, glaring at his little brother. Yudrein had already switched defenses — both hands now stubbornly covering his face instead of the backpack.

.Behind Enon, the entire class started whispering in pity and mourning.

“Rest in peace, Yudrein…” one of his classmates sighed dramatically.

“You fought so bravely…” another added, wiping away a fake tear.

“We’ll remember you, buddy.” Devran said, clutching his chest in exaggerated sorrow. “You were such a good man… well, decent at least.”

“Might your soul find eternal peace.” Revlin prayed with full sincerity, folding his hands like he was at a real funeral.

“Yudrein, if you die can I have your game console?” Hinn blurted out, eyes sparkling with pure excitement.

“Hey! I was eyeing that one first!” someone immediately protested.

“Yudrein, can I have your gray hoodie?”

     “I want your sneakers!”

Ever shook her head seriously. “Yudrein’s feet are smaller than yours. You can’t have them. That would be disrespectful to the dead.” She paused for half a second, then added, “I’ll take them instead. For memorial purposes.”

While half the class was busy holding a dramatic funeral for their still-living classmate, and the other half was already splitting his belongings like hungry vultures, Kanna’s blue eyes were trembling in pure horror at the scene unfolding in front of her.

    “Ahh!!!! My heels!!!!!”

She screamed at the top of her lungs, hands clutching her face in pure horror, before bolting forward. She shoved Enon roughly aside, bent down, and grabbed Yudrein’s leg with surprising strength — causing the poor boy to lose his balance and crash backwards onto the floor with a thud.

But Kanna didn’t bother. Not about Enon, nor Yudrein. All that mattered were her precious heels — the ones she had been saving like sacred treasures, and the one she had bought specially for graduation and never once worn herself. She had entrusted them to Yudrein because she thought he wouldn’t be moving around much.

Now, looking at the tragic state of her beloved shoes, Kanna was on the verge of tears.

The right heel — the one that had heroically collided with Enon earlier — was completely ruined, snapped clean off and dangling like a broken limb. Kanna clutched Yudrein’s leg tightly like a grieving mother and began shaking it furiously, as if trying to punish the offending foot itself.

    “My babies!!!!”

Enon felt a pang of guilt seeing Kanna like that. Even Yudrein, whose head was still throbbing from the fall, couldn’t help but feel sorry for her as she clung to his leg like a grieving widow.

“Hey, don’t cry. I’ll buy you a new pair.” Enon said, patting her shoulder comfortingly.

    The change was instantaneous.

Kanna immediately dropped Yudrein’s leg like it had burned her and spun toward Enon. The fake tears vanished in a flash, replaced by sparkling, hopeful eyes.

“I want the new pair that was launched this spring — the white one!”

Enon looked into those dangerously bright blue eyes and knew he had walked straight into a trap. Still, he surrendered with a calm sigh.

     “Sure.”

“Wow, Oppa! Thank you so much!” Kanna beamed.

“You okay there?” Enon asked, glancing over at Yudrein, who was still sprawled on the floor covering his face.

     “…I’m fine.”

“Are you sure?” Enon asked, concerned. “That was a pretty bad fall.”

    “Yes, I'm sure.”

“I’m sorry, Yudrein.” Kanna apologized softly and politely. Then she turned back to Enon with a bright smile. “Don’t worry, Oppa. Yudrein has such a strong skull. He once headbutted Devran during PE and Devran fainted on the spot.”

     “……”

“That’s right, hyung.” Gakane nodded seriously. “Yudrein’s head is a certified fatal weapon.”

Devran shivered visibly in the corner, haunted by the traumatic memory. He could still feel the phantom pain from that PE session.

     “Kanna.” Enon called out calmly.

     “Yes, Oppa?”

“You have a very strange definition of ‘reassuring’.”

Kanna let out a nervous “haha”, smiling awkwardly before reaching down to ruffle the back of Yudrein’s head. Enon could only let out a long, exhausted sigh of surrender.

“Hey, why don’t you just lower your hands?” Enon said. “It’s not like I’ll scold you just because you cross-dressed and put on some makeup.”

“I know,” Yudrein replied, voice muffled behind his hands. “But you’ll definitely take some lame pictures and make fun of me until I’m eighty.”

     “……”

Enon went suspiciously silent. The kid wasn’t wrong. At that very moment, Enon was secretly holding his phone up with the camera already open, finger hovering over the shutter button, ready to capture the moment Yudrein’s face was revealed. After an awkward cough, he slowly slipped the phone back into his pocket.

“First of all,” Enon said, “I wouldn’t make fun of you until you’re eighty.”

     “..….”

     “Ninety, maybe.”

“Thank you for confirming my concerns.”

Enon sighed. “If you remove your hands, I’ll buy you that new game console with the noise-canceling headphones.”

The words had barely left Enon's mouth before Yudrein immediately lowered his hands, revealing his face without the slightest hesitation, as though the earlier confrontation with his hyung had never happened at all.

There was no trace of resistance, nor any sign that he had spent the last several minutes stubbornly refusing to cooperate.

“…Tch.” Enon pinched the bridge of his nose. “I don’t know whether I should be impressed or deeply concerned.”

“I think your finances are the more immediate concern.” Yudrein added. “That console isn't cheap. The headphones alone cost a considerable amount.”

“You and that damn mouth of yours.”

Enon was truly exhausted — and much of that exhaustion stemmed from Yudrein's sharp tongue.

His little brother had an infuriating habit of turning even the simplest conversation into a debate, dissecting every statement with relentless precision until the original topic was barely recognizable. It was a trait that reminded Enon, much to his displeasure, of a certain senior.

Unfortunately, that very senior was currently sitting a short distance away. And, even more unfortunately, he was looking at Yudrein, not with amusement or exasperation but with eyes that had grown noticeably softer and warmer.

A gentle smile rested on his lips as he listened to Yudrein speak, his attention fixed on him with such unwavering focus that it immediately set off alarm bells in Enon's head.

...Why is he looking at him like that?

Enon stared at the scene for a long moment, Then he felt a headache coming on. He shook his head sharply, as if trying to physically dislodge the absurd thoughts that had begun creeping into his mind.

What the hell am I even thinking?

The idea was ridiculous. Completely ridiculous. Enon immediately forced his attention back to Yudrein, determined to dismiss the strange unease that had settled in his chest. But the moment his gaze landed on him, something else caught his eye, a small wound sat on Yudrein's lower lip.

At some point, while they had been talking, his little brother had crouched down in front of him, and only now did Enon notice it. The cut was shallow but familiar — the kind Yudrein always ended up with after biting down on his lip too hard while thinking, worrying, or stubbornly refusing to admit something was bothering him.

Enon's brows drew together, his eyes lingered on the injury for a moment longer, concern replacing his earlier irritation.

     When did that happen?

He opened his mouth, intending to ask about it. But before a single word could leave him, Yudrein suddenly blurted out—

    “It was Hinn and Finn.”

    “What?” Enon asked, visibly puzzled.

He had been far too occupied with Kishiar's strangely attentive gaze on Yudrein— and then with the small wound on Yudrein's lower lip — to properly register anything his little brother had been saying.

Yudrein did not repeat himself immediately. Instead, he raised a hand and pointed toward Finn. His expression was completely serious.

“This all started because of the twins.”

The declaration landed with the gravity of someone unveiling the culprit behind a major incident and for a moment, only silence followed.

Not in their wildest dreams — let alone in reality — had any of them imagined they would one day witness Yudrein snitching on someone.

After all, Yudrein possessed an almost unshakable reputation among his friends and throughout the school. He was dependable, steadfast, and fiercely protective of those he considered close. The sort of person who would quietly shoulder the consequences himself before exposing a friend to trouble. If anything, everyone had always assumed that getting information out of Yudrein was harder than extracting secrets from a locked vault.

And yet here he was, pointing directly at Finn without hesitation, remorse, or even a trace of internal conflict. The sheer absurdity of the sight left his classmates momentarily stunned.

His friends stared at him as if he had suddenly grown a second head. Others looked between Yudrein and the twins, trying to determine whether they had somehow entered an alternate reality without noticing.

Because if Yudrein of all people was openly snitching, then something had clearly gone terribly wrong with the natural order of the world, Or perhaps the world was simply ending.

Honestly, at this point, both explanations seemed equally plausible.
