Chapter Text
The redness in Nom's cheeks began to fade. His pace quickened with anticipation as he walked past the ruined stables. The brunette wiped his sweaty palms, then carefully stepped across an old wooden bridge that creaked as he walked. The path to Scott's newly built cottage was uneven in most places, even causing the knight to stumble as he proceeded up the hill.
This is definitely next on my to-do list.
The kingdom was quiet, Nom's footsteps tapped against the shifting dirt. The clinking of his armor was the only unnatural noise that could be heard. The sun was still high in the sky, bringing a quiet warmth to the kingdom. When he finally reached the top of the hill, he turned to the cottage, steeled his nerves, and knocked on the door.
A quiet voice could be heard, "One moment!"
Nom stood on the porch, closed his eyes and took a deep breath.
Why on Earth am I so nervous?
His eyes snapped open the second that he heard the door creak open, obviously, the plant mage was standing there. Nom caught himself staring, Scott was dressed in gardening clothes instead of his regular blue cape. He was in light green overalls that matched his eyes and brown gardening gloves.
"Oh! Hey Nom!" The plant mage's warm voice chimed
Ok, here it goes..
"Hi Scott!" He nervously said, "I've got something for you! It reminded me a lot of you!"
The mage's eyes widened, "Oo, What is it?"
Nom slowly pulled the flower from behind his back, "It's-uh just-"
Scott gasped, "it's perfect!"
A smile crept onto the knight's face, his eyes lit up. A slight pink shade filled his cheeks as he extended the flower to the man.
"I'll have to put this into my garden, it will be the perfect center for it!" Scott gently placed his hand onto Nom's arm, pulling him into his cottage.
Nom quickened his pace, ecstatic that his gift was appreciated. The inside of the cottage was somewhat bare, yet full of life. A fireplace was on the left of the house, with a comfortable looking light blue coach in front of it. To Nom's right he could see what looked to be a greenhouse type extension of the cottage, with a loft above it. The place felt welcoming, sun poured in through the greenhouse, filling Nom with ease.
How has he already managed to build an entire cottage, and decorate?
Scott's voice cut off the guard's train of thought, "Here will be perfect!"
His voice is so full of joy, the way it rises and falls it's.. mezmerizing.
"Wow Scott, it seems you didn't need much help settling in." The knight remarked.
"Well.. I met you-" The blond paused, then quickly continued, "Oh! and other kind people in blue kingdom, and they all made me realize that being sent here won't be bad at all!"
He's so cute when he blushes..
"Well, I'm going to go and fix some of the kingdom with Owain, he doesn't like it when people flirt too much.."
Nom quickly exited, pretty embarrassed to have explicity told Scott that he was flirting with him. (Despite how obvious it was)
The flower mage shouted after him, "Bye Nom! I'll see you later!"
The brunette looked up from the path, nearly faceplanting, then shyly waved back.
Mae will definitely want to hear about this..
