Chapter Text

Murasakibara let out a sigh. A sigh full of want to be home eating, and in bed with Muro-chin, watching telly with Muro-chin and baking with Muro-chin and-

“Hold on, hold on,” Aomine asked, “he deadass said that to you?”

Kuroko shoved the phone into his nose.

“See for yourself.”

Aomine started to scroll up to the messages from yesterday, reading them under his breath. Kise popped his head on Aomine’s shoulder and read, his eyes and mouth getting comedically larger as he went down.

“I don’t know what you expected honestly,” started Midorima, “We live in Japan, a country still not legalising gay marriage, so of course some people are going to be against it.”

Midorima was wearing a pride flag pin, his lucky item of the day.

“Kagami-kun and I understand that, I just thought he could have been more open to the concept,” muttered Kuroko, his words only intelligible to the rest of the miracles. Kagami hadn’t joined since he was still in shock.

“I’m glad I called a gathering then, which you all surprisingly attended,” Akashi said.

“You literally put the words obligated Aka-chin..”

“Swish swash mish mosh Murasakibara,” Akashi replied, with a small, devilish smirk tugging his thin pink lips.

Aomine and Kise started to make weird noises in the corner, resembling ‘ugh’, ‘oeughhhh’ and ‘gluiohoho’. The rest of the GOM gave them looks till Aomine showed what he found…

“Tetsu, why the fack do you have pics of Kagami’s biceps and abs in a folder called ‘beastly boy baller balls?” Aomine started to flick through the pictures, flashing the other members with stuff they really didn’t wanna see.

“He’s hot,” simply stated Kuroko, leaving Midorima sitting next to him in utter shock.

“Omg anyway, that Hguaga guy is ruthless!” exclaimed Kise, “Who calls their friends ‘rainbow monkeys tainting the world’ or ‘rainbow coloured twinked freaks’ or ‘rainbow dick suckers’.”

“He likes to use the word rainbow a lot,” remarked Akashi, whilst flicking his hand to call a waiter over.

“Hiya what can I g-geeee,” trailed the waiter.

He had soft, chestnut coloured hair, large brown eyes and thin, pouty lips. He wore a stereotypical American waiter uniform with oil spills to decorate it. He also had a thin silver chain draped around his neck.

“Furihata-kun?” questioned Kuroko, “You work here?”

The waiter (now discovered as Furihata) started to stammer up a storm, blabbering on about how he had to cover his brothers shift and how he does not work here since it’s against school policy.

“Furihata-kun, I won’t tell it’s fine,” sighed Kuroko, “Could I have a vanilla milkshake please?”

“Yeah su-”

“You’ve gotta eat something, get a salad with bread crumbs,” scolded Kise.

“Okay, please add a salad with that I suppose..”

Akashi was still staring at the menu, eyes flickering over each item whilst the others placed their orders. Once Aomine and Murasakibara placed their orders that could feed 100 people combined, Akashi looked up ready.

“Do you-”, Akashi began, but stopped when he noticed Furihata taking a step back. He cleared his throat before asking again.

“Do you do the milkshakes with low fat milk or reg…” Akashi looked up at the boy who was at least  a metre away now, “Could you please stop moving back?”

“Oh sorry, haha my legs just move.. on their own som-sometimes,” awkwardly chuckled Furihata, who then moved toward the edge of the table. He was gripping the table so hard his knuckles turned white.

“What can I get you, A-Akashi-san?”

“Could I have the strawberry Juju blast with low fat milk and a Caesar salad?” heaved Akashi with his patience running thin.

“Coming right up!” exclaimed Furihata with fake enthusiasm before he ran away from the table.

Akashi gave Kuroko an annoyed look.

“Akashi-kun, you didn’t have to seem to so annoyed and rude.”

“I didn’t even say anything rude, he was just scared of me for no reason, which I can’t be held responsible for,” Akashi crossed his arms, rolled his eyes and pouted slightly.

“If you don’t recall, you tried to throw a pair of scissors at Kagami-kun, which he still hasn’t forgiven you for, whilst Furihata-kun was standing behind me.”

“Oh, he still remembers,” blinked the crimson-red head, “And may I add I was confident Kagami would dodge.”

“Right.”

Aomine passed Kuroko’s phone to the owner and let out a sigh before slumping onto Kise and picking his nails.

“So, what are you guys gon do about it?”

“I’m not sure, I don’t want to force it onto him, but I don’t want him to be uncomfortable with us,” mumbled Kuroko.

“Maybe say it was a joke or something Kuro-chin,” suggested Murasakibara, whilst nibbling on a Maibou bar.

“Nah seeing those messages, you can’t go back Kuroko-chii.”

“They shouldn’t have to fake it anyway, just carry on and ignore the bastard,” Aomine said annoyed, earning surprised glances from the others.

“That-that’s the kindest thing you’ve said Aomine-chii!” squealed Kise.

“OH SHUT YOUR TRAP!” Aomine screamed whilst grabbing Kise’s locks, which earned glances from other customers.

Akashi sighed for the 10th time today before asking, “Does his opinion really matter to you?”

“He’s my friend Akashi-kun, my teammate and if he doesn’t like something then I at least want to know why,” replied the shadow, eyes trained on Akashi’s.

“But it’s pretty certain he doesn’t want to be your friend? Why fight for it when you like Kagami more?” Akashi placed a hand on the table to hold his chin.

“It’s not a matter about liking someone more, he’s still someone I value in my life,” demurred Kuroko.

“I don’t understand, he clearly doesn’t value you, It doesn’t make-” Akashi flickered his crimson eyes at the boy (who’s currently trying to mask his trembling) holding a plate with their drinks and meals.

“S-sorry should I leave and come back or?” asked Furihata politely.

“Nah it’s fine just drop them off bro,” Aomine nodded his head lightly, feeling a bit sympathetic for the waiter.

Furihata started to place the drinks and food onto the table. He put the strawberry milkshake down next to Akashi and put a striped red straw in. Akashi took the drink and started drinking in frustration. The drink gave his lips a reddish tint, complimenting the slight pout he had. A drop still lingered on his lips.

Once Furihata finished distributing the drinks and swallowed. He couldn’t help but gesture at his own lips and say, “U-um Akashi-san, you’ve got a drop on your…”

Akashi browsed Furihata’s face before licking his lip slightly.

“Thank you,” murmured Akashi, fiddling with his straw.

Furihata nodded slightly before walking (jogging) away. Midorima looked at Akashi weirdly, eyebrows furrowed.

“Was there a need to say that?” he remarked.

“What the kid?” asked Kise. For some reason Kise was redoing his eyeliner.

“Well yes, it was just weird,” Midorima replied, taking a sip from his orange juice.

Akashi shrugged, picking at the calamari lying on a plate with his fork. Kuroko looked at Akashi opposite him, and noted something before taking a deep sip from his milkshake. Vanilla goodness swirled his tongue. He felt at peace now.

“Mido you sound like a homophobe,” breathed Aomine, a slight smirk dancing on his lips.

“What, i’m not being homophobic,”

“What a homophobe would sayyyy,”

“It’s not homophobic, since there’s no romantic attraction you buffoon and besides i’m literally wearing a pride flag pin,” argued Midorima.

“Akashi-kun.”

“Yes, Kuroko.”

“I understand you don’t get my feelings, but I don’t want to leave today on bad terms, so truce?” Kuroko raised a hand, gesturing a handshake.

“Okay, alright,” Akashi took his hand, “Sorry for lashing out a bit…”

“It’s okay.”

“Yeah guys, don’t let Teiko 2 happen again over a  homophobic captain,” laughed Aomine.

“Don’t joke about that, taht was a really sad era,” sniffed Kise, taking a sip from his virgin ‘Sex on the beach’.

“Don’t start crying, Kise,” confessed Aomine. Kise looked up at him, ‘Omg, he’s being nice again, my tears pain him what a considerate fella-’.

“Your cryings annoying and you’re gonna smudge your eyeliner,”

“FACK YOU,” Kise squelched whilst slapping Aomine on the head.
