Summary:

Announcer gets out from the bush and finds someone to team up with.

Snowball and Pencil become acquaintances.

Notes:

This is NOT AN ACTUAL announcement. Don't worry. I'm not gonna scrap this fic although updates may be slower since I'm losing motivation.

Chapter Text

(Announcer POV)

*past tense*

I was stuck. Metal entwined in vegetation and speakers muffled by branches kind of stuck.

Well... what now? I'm stuck in this bush because Pencil can't take a joke.

Call for help?

I... can't reach my phone. That's a problem.

Maybe I could try?

I reached down and-

Now I'm even more stuck. These twigs are really good at holding my weight.

I heard them crack slightly as I tested my weight on them. Nevermind, this is a bad idea.

I cried out for help. "SOMEONE! ANYONE!! GET ME OUT OF THIS STUPID BUSH!!"

I wriggled and struggled against the wood stems of the bush. One of them snapped and hit my phone, which was just below me.

I need to-

CRACK!

The wooden stems were struggling to hold me up. If I fall, I'll crush my cellular device for communication! I need it for contacting the contestants.

Oh! I know what to do!

With all my strength and willpower, I connected myself to my phone via Bluetooth and started playing macarena as loud as I could.

My phone then proceeded to immediately die, cutting me off from the Bluetooth.

Stupid coincidences that make no sense!!!

I felt another bit of stem snap beneath my body.

My phone! My precious phone! It'll be crushed if these things snap!

That's when I saw it.

Yes... YES!!! The arachnid! The arachnid is back!!

I kept shifting and moving side to side, getting it's attention.

It's legs wrapped tightly around my body. It's jaw opened wide.

Oh no. I didn't think this through.

Before it could turn me into it's snack, a spear was thrown right through it, knocking me to the ground with it. It was soaked in it's own, gross blood.

Woody, half his face ripped off and blood dripping down his arm, swiftly swooped me up and carried me away.

Ah yes, I did this. I saved myself.

OH WAIT MY PHONE IS STILL IN THE BUSH! NO!

I struggled against Woody's grip until I, still being the resilient host I am, gave up... again.

He took me to an area coveted with trees and sticks and lead me into a hut made from entwined twigs and clay.

Pretty small. Barely fit us both inside.

He was shaking, I could see it. He kept glancing at the open entrance.

The arachnid followed along, it's web now coating almost the whole forest.

I couldn't see it but I could tell it was there because it became significantly darker.

Woody gestured frantic nonsense before giving up and sitting there in silence.

(Snowball POV)

*present tense*

I had to keep following Pencil since I didn't feel like being alone. We kept walking until we found a broken piece of wood on the floor.

Pencil stopped first, gesturing for me to stop too.

That's stupid. Why should I listen to Pencil?

Well. I stopped. Not because I wanted to, but because I didn't want to be absolutely flown into a bush.

She crouched there for a moment, hand still clasped around Tennis ball's ankle. "Woody..." She muttered.

Why is she being so cryptic? It's just wood. "What about him?" I asked.

"This is a piece of him." She replied, holding up the wooden fragment.

I stared at it for a moment. "And... how do you know it's actually his?"

"The engravings. It matched up perfectly with his." She retaliated harshly, basically shoving the wood in my face.

Unnecessary much?

She looked pretty annoyed. I'll... shut up for now.

She forced herself to calm down before grasping tightly to my wrist and dragging me and Tennis ball along behind her.

This is boring!

She's such a boring leader.

I would be like... the best leader ever.

I would be-

"LOOK OUT!" Pencil yelled, pulling me directly into her.

Something charged by. It looked like a... deformed version of Blocky...

I froze. Pencil... just saved my life. "...why..?" I puzzled.

Pencil raised an eyebrow. "Why what?"

"Why did you save us?"

Pencil stayed silent, then continued dragging us along.

She's avoiding the question.
