Chapter Text
Liko crossed her arms in annoyance. She glared at the sweatshirt sitting on her bed, washed and neatly folded. It drove her crazy that she probably would NOT see that adorably kind and smart boy again. She wondered how to take action. A light knock at the door sounded.
"Come in!"
Dot entered the room and said, "Hey, Liko. You have anything else you wanna do in Cortondo today? We're taking off tomorrow."
Liko grinned. "Actually, I do! Anything the ship needs?"
Dot thought for a moment. "Maybe just some snacks from Pikachu Pantry for the flight to Levincia."
"Great!" Liko grabbed the sweatshirt along with Charcadet's Pokeball and ran out the door.
Dot noticed the sweatshirt for the first time and called after her, "Liko, when did you buy that sweatshirt?"
--
Liko walked with her shoulders back towards the convenience store. She was going to find Amethio. Liko was determined not to let him slip by without at least a phone number.
Charcadet trailed along behind her, trying to match her quick pace.
The nearest Pikachu Pantry store had a bright and cheery yellow sign above the door. Liko burst through the doors, checking the list Dot had sent. It consisted of chips, chocolate milk, instant coffee sticks and cup ramen, and ready-to-eat lunchboxes for when Murdock was unavailable for cooking. A normal Brave Olivine shopping list.
Liko grabbed a quick basket, trying to get the hell out of there to try and find Amethio. She found the chocolate milk and chips right away. Charcadet hurried to keep up with her, flying through the store. But of course, something had to get in her way.
The cup ramen was too tall for her. Liko again looked up to the ceiling, incredibly annoyed. She tried jumping, she tried reaching, she even tried getting Charcadet to stand on her head and grab them.
Still just centimeters out of her reach.
But, to her surprise, Amethio came to her rescue again. He reached the ramen with ease and gently put it in her shopping basket.
Liko was in heaven. It was just like those fantasy books Dot would never admit to reading.
"I found you again, Miss Liko." Amethio laughed, tousling her hair. "I forgot how short you were."
Liko shook her head, but decided to forgive him. It was fate. She had to have Amethio.
--
Outside the store, Liko and Amethio exchanged his sweatshirt for her phone number and promised to keep in touch.
"Be sure you always carry an umbrella, keep lots of fat-rich berries with you, and if its fire shrinks to a dull glow, it's likely very malnourished," Amethio said, his voice at lightning speed. "And they love challenges, but if their opponent is much too strong you'll need to step in," he advised.
Liko, overwhelmed with info, just said, "Just text it to me, okay?"
Amethio stopped. "Will do." And with that, he was gone.
Liko felt a bit sad that their next meeting would likely not be for a while. But of course, she knew fate would bring them together again.
--
And not a moment after he had left, Liko's Rotom phone buzzed.
Amethio: And be sure to keep it away from flammable house furniture when practicing its Ember attack!!!!!
