Chapter Text
Yellow enters pinks little corner once more and it met with a lot. He can’t even count how many people are here and the music is so loud he can barely hear himself think.
“and there you go, mew!”
pink says signing a dummies face before throwing them over her shoulder. Yellow a little perturbed by pinks actions, moves to the bar and sits down near her. Pink, instantly noticing her corn colored friend stands up and throws herself beside him wrapping her arm around his shoulder.
“hey yellow! Nice to see you again, mew!”
she says shaking him a little while batting away a fan that keeps coming back. After the second time she hands them a bomb which almost instantly blows them up. Yellow jolts as the puff of cloud reveals a char covered fan.
“pink, as a man o’ the law I don’t think yer allow’d do that”
Pink waves her hand dismissively laughing.
“nah! That tv man helped me make contracts, mew! These smucks have to let me do whatever I want for a chance to meet their idol! I mean its not too useful but I get to punch those weirdos who can’t take a no!”
yellows eyes widen for a moment after hearing that.
“well darn my socks that tv man sure can do a lot of helpin can’t he?”
pink nods before flagging down ramb who just so happens to be working at the bar.
“hey ramb! Get my new buddy something he’ll like!”
“Sure thing luv- holy mackerel yellow?! Did you get into a fight with a roll of paper?!”
ramb says setting down the cup he’d been cleaning for the past 3 minutes. Yellow looks over at his arm, he’s so used to wearing long sleeves he never noticed the thick layers of bandages on his right arm. From the look of it everything was wrapped, even a small scratch he got a few days ago from brushing against a tree has been wrapped. He quickly looks away and faces ramb trying to think of an excuse on the spot.
“I done got kinda hurt while tryna catch one of em criminells. Ise fine tho”
he blurts out mentally berating himself for lying, God he's just so hopeless. Ramb glances over his shoulder out of habit for a second before looking back at yellow a little uncomfortable.
“you’re sure you’re alright luv? You look a little odd now that I’ve got a closer look.”
he says grabbing the same cup he sat down moments ago and pouring a drink for yellow. Yellow quickly dismisses ramb, waving his hand.
“no way! Ises alright!”
yellow says as ramb stands up on a stepstool, now meeting eye to eye with him. He slides yellow the drink who quickly catches it, he tries not to react to the pain shooting up his right arm because of that.
“well if you happen to not be later, I’ll Walk you to your room.”
Ramb says before pink interrupts
“oh and here you’ve never walked me to my room, quite frankly I'm hurt”
she says putting the back of her hand to her forehead in mock sadness while taking a sip of her drink.
“I wouldn’t say I particularly enjoy to mingle in fame, luv”
ramb says as yellow takes a sip of his drink before spitting it back into the cup. Pink sets down her drink and grabs yellow, wrapping her arm around him.
“well I don’t need you, I got yellow right here for me”
she says trying her hardest to make herself sound like shes not joking while failing horribly to not laugh. Ramb sighs and takes the cup from yellow, dumping out the contaminated drink and replacing it with something. still not sure what it is yellow takes a sip, its much sweeter. He nods as a thank you before ramb goes back to pink.
“and anyway I doubt you’d want to been seen with a lad like me.”
pink huffs letting go of yellow.
“it’s the thought that counts, but I doubt you’d know that much.”
yellow glances awkwardly between the two, unsure if they’ve quit joking or are really fighting. Slowly fidgeting with his bandages, he leans away from pink. As the two exchange back and forth yellow is stuck on the guilt he feels for lying. They just look so happy, and here he is, strutting in with a barrage of lies. As he's thinking he sees a blue butterfly land on his hand, normally he’d but happy to see one because it means blues nearby. But now, oh blues nearby. He wasn’t sure why he left in the first place, he just couldn’t bear to face blue, but now he can’t go back without facing him and explaining. He wipes the sweat off his forehead, feeling as if he’d throw up from the anxiety. He tries to stand up but can’t.
“1…2…..3..”
he tries counting down in his head to force himself up but he just can’t, a hot pain radiating all throughout his arm. He closes his eyes and takes a few deep breaths trying to gain enough strength but finds himself leaning on pink. He can vaguely hear pink saying something but he doesn’t bother trying to register what it is shes saying much more focused on what he's done.
‘you’re a horrible cowboy’
‘a liar’
‘a fraud’
‘an insult’
‘it’
‘would’
‘be’
‘better’
‘if’
‘you’

His train of thought is cut off by the feeling of a hand on his shoulder that could only belong to blue. Momentarily pulled away from his self-loathing, the idea of being in blues arms is far too tempting even for an “irredeemable horrible criminell” like himself to resist. Forcing himself around and out the seat he tries to put his arms around blue but before he can his vision fades to black.
He forces his eyes open and is met with the same sight we was met with the last time he woke up, he goes to sit up but is forced back down by blue; his hand going to yellows shoulder and pushing him down. Yellow lays down on his side and looks blue in the eyes who had just so happened to have been laying beside him the entire time. an odd mix of anxiety and comfort fits yellow like a bullet; he can’t lie his way out of this, he has to tell someone. At the same time, he doesn’t have to lie anymore and blues the one who’ll listen to him. Blue reaches out to blue and places a hand on his cheek, a sad look on his face.
“yellow,”
just the sound of his name makes his heart beat so fast its almost painful.
“I don’t know how to say this but, you can’t do this anymore.”
Yellow nods, trying to look anywhere but blue as he already starts crying. Blue moves closer to yellow and just holds him in silence as he starts breaking down. He feels yellows shaky breaths broken by attempted quiet sobs against his neck as he burries his face into blues neck. Blue just looks at the wall as he slightly tightens his grip around yellow and moves one of his hands to rub the back of his head to try and comfort him.
“m’ ssorrie blue…m’ so sorrie..”
yellow mutters between shaky gasps as he clings onto blue for dear life.
“you shouldn’t apologize to *me*, you should say you’re sorry to yourself.”
Yellow pauses for a second, holding his breath to try and stop crying as blue continues.
“you’ve hurt the best cowboy I’ve ever met, I think he deserves a real apology. Wouldn’t you think so?”
Yellow removes his face from blues shoulder and wipes his nose sniffling.
“but, that best cowboy..what if he was a liar…that wouldn’t be very justice-y of him, would it be? So then he wouldn’t be the best cowboy..”
yellow says propping his head on his left hand, looking down at the bed. Blue lets out a soft sigh.
“well then, can you tell why the cowboy was lying? I'm sure you’d know why.”
yellows gaze shifts around as he speaks, a small waver in voice. It’s a challenge to bear his woes to blue, but it’d be easier to do it to him then anyone else.
“I dunno, maybe he was scared… maybe he did it in the first place because they felt like they needed a way to get what they deserve without anyone stopping him. Maybe everything they stopped him he felt like he failed… maybe he wouldn’t stop thinking about it! Maybe his thoughts got so loud that cowboy thought his head was gonna explode!”
He said his tone shifting to an almost malice near the end. Blue is a little surprised by the anger in yellows tone when talking about himself, as a man of integrity he's come to accept all parts of himself, and oh how he wishes his attempts to help yellow do the same worked.
“that sounds to me like the cowboy didn’t hurt anyone but himself. Even if his choices where…”
he pauses to find the right world as yellow lays down a little.
“misguided, I don’t think anyone would blame that cowboy. I’ve made my fair share of mistakes and you’ve forgiven me have you not? So, I think maybe you should forgive him too.”
Blue said before suddenly realizing yellows ugly crying again, he's shockingly good at keeping it quiet. He quickly grabs ahold of yellow, slowly moving him up until he’s sitting on his lap, head resting against his chest.
“’m sorrie blue.. I won’t be mean to that cowboy y’know… m’ sorrie for being so stupid in the first place”
he said shaking a little in blues arms. The sight of that makes blues heart ache, he plants a kiss on yellows forehead before trying to reassure him.
“you were never stupid, you’ve never been stupid, especially right now. You’re being honest and brave right now, that takes a lot more then most people have in them.”
“I don’t ex-actally feel like that right about now….”
he says fidgeting with his bandages, blue removes yellows hand from them and holds it.
“well you’re being braver and more honest then even flowery right now. It’ll be alright I promise.”
blue said leaning his head onto yellow.
“I love you.”
