Chapter 45: A killer vacation
Noli had been planning a vacation, just for the killers, just a small things for everyone to get together as their own group, sure the survivors all had their meeting, which was mostly why he was doing this, because even though everyone was allowed, he felt that the killers needed some time to regroup alone as friends, he had finally gotten 7n7’s permission on the promise that he was going to keep a close watch on c00lkidd, and had finally gotten a date set, and tonight was the night that he packed up, he had moved in with 7n7 at this point, staying in the guest bedroom which had been turned into his own, he walked over to c00lkidd’s room.
“You ready for tomorrow kid?” Noli asked, leaning against the doorway, c00lkidd was attempting to pack only plushies, Noli sighed.
“Yup!” c00lkidd said, Noli chuckled.
“You sure? You should probably pack some clothes with your plushies.” He said, c00lkidd looked at his suitcase.
“... No, I think I’ll be ok.” He said, Noli sighed.
“SEV I THINK YOU NEED TO HELP YOUR KID PACK!” Noli called, 7n7 walked over and looked in, then chuckled.
“Alright c00lkidd, you need to pack correctly.” 7n7 said, c00lkidd pouted, and 7n7 walked in, explaining that he could still bring plushies, he just needed to bring enough clothing to last for the trip, and after a quick few minutes of instruction, 7n7 also packed a bag of toys and snacks for c00lkidd to keep him occupied on the drive there.
“Ok, now, you need a shower, then it’s bed time.” 7n7 said, Noli looked at 7n7, thankfully after Noli moved in and started splitting the rent 7n7 had been getting more sleep, and had even started saving to go back to college, meanwhile Noli was happy being the cool uncle and being able to help his friend out.
“Ok!” c00lkidd said, and then he grabbed his pajamas and ran off to the bathroom to shower, 7n7 smiled and looked at Noli.
“After he goes to bed, you want to watch some bad movies and eat popcorn?” 7n7 asked, Noli laughed a little.
“Obviously, bad movies and popcorn is my jam and jelly.” He said, 7n7 laughed, Noli smiled.
“Well then, I’m going to get the popcorn started, and if c00lkidd comes out before it’s done then you can make your special blend, I seriously don’t know how you make it taste so good.” 7n7 said as he walked down the hall, Noli smiled and went back to his room, making sure that he had everything packed and ready, he did, he looked at the purple suitcase, he had gotten everyone on board to go to a small beach town and spend a few days there, when he had mentioned it everyone was on board which was pleasant, the hardest part had been convincing 7n7 that c00lkidd would be ok, and even that only took around 30 minutes of persuasion after a few minutes of thinking how awesome this would be, 7n7 lightly knocked on the doorframe.
“You’re up, kid’s out so I’m going to go read to him.” 7n7 said, Noli smiled and nodded.
“Got it!” He said, he walked into the kitchen, pulling out some butter and salt, he took off a good chunk before microwaving it, then when it was melted, he added some salt, mixed it in, and poured it onto the popcorn.
“There we go, that’s gonna be good.” He said, bringing the bowl out before flicking to a streaming service in order to find a movie, by the time he did 7n7 came out.
“Oooo, this looks absolutely horrid, sounds like fun.” 7n7 said before sitting down, Noli chuckled, he had seen this one before.
“Oh you have no idea.” He said.
The next morning Noli and c00lkidd packed their things on the back, and waved goodbye to 7n7, c00lkidd sat up front with Noli playing on a small game console, while Noli listened to the radio, it was going to be a good time, it took all day to get to the place, but seeing the small hotel everyone would stay at was nice, it may not have been very big, but it felt welcoming and homely, the first ones to arrive were John Doe and 1x.
“Hey! How was the drive?” John asked, Noli shrugged.
“The games kept the kid quiet, and the view was pleasant, so overall pretty good.” Noli said. “How about you?”
“About the same, though we talked the whole way.” John said, 1x smirked and looked at him.
“More like you talked at me the whole way.” They said, John laughed and teased back.
“Hey! You talked a little!” He said, 1x smiled.
“Mostly to keep you talking.” They said.
“Then why are you complaining?”
“I’m not, just setting the story straight.” John laughed until another car pulled up. This time it was Azure.
“Hello! Nice to see you all!” He said, John smiled.
“Hey there! How are you doing?” He asked, Azure walked up.
“A little scared, haven’t spent the night away from Two Time since they were discharged from that attack.” He said, John smiled.
“I feel you, almost debated not coming before Jane convinced me that I should be friendly with you guys on my own.” He said, the group talked for a small while longer until Sixer appeared.
“👋❗🙋⬇️” (Hi! I’m here) They signed once they got close enough. Noli had at least learned enough to pick that much up.
“I am realizing how hard it is going to be to try and talk with Sixer when Noob or the other survivors aren’t here.” John said, c00lkidd tugged on Noli’s shirt.
“What are they saying?” He asked, Noli smiled.
“He’s just saying that he’s here.” Noli said, Sixer then smiled and pulled out a pad of paper and a pencil, then started writing.
“I have a solution to that!” They wrote, c00lkidd laughed while 1x smiled.
“Smart thinking.” They said, then they yawned. “Another thing of smart thinking would probably be to get set up in our hotel rooms though.” They said, John chuckled.
“Yeah, probably.” He said, Noli smiled.
“You guys going to all share a room?” He asked, one rule that 7n7 set was that only Noli was allowed to sleep in the same room as c00lkidd, which Noli fully agreed with.
“It was easiest to, and saved space for the hotel so we all decided to yeah, although if I remember correctly you and c00lkidd have to sleep in your own room?” Sixer wrote, Noli nodded.
“Yup, and I agree with it, mostly because it’s not only safest, it’s also just flat out good for you guys, cause he has a bedtime.” Noli said, it wasn’t that he didn’t trust anyone, quite the opposite, he trusted them a lot, but children made people mad easily, and at least two people had anger issues, despite Noli knowing that they both were talking to people about those issues.
“I honestly agree with everyone on that decision, glad that we are all on the same page.” Azure said, everyone nodded and went inside, carrying their luggage, Noli got a room for himself and c00lkidd, while 1x got one for everyone else, thankfully the rooms were across from each other, close, but not so close that people would keep people up. After checking in Noli and c00lkidd went into their room, there were two large beds, Noli dropped his stuff on his side, and c00lkidd immediately unpacked his stuffed toys onto the bed, Noli got c00lkidd to clean himself before doing the same himself, they then watched some shows on the TV before Noli shut off everything, and went to sleep.
Azure, John, 1x, and Sixer had to find a way to split 2 beds between them.
“We could fit two people onto 1 bed for each bed.” John said, Azure and 1x looked at him.
“Ok, who would you sleep with? What would the pairs be?” 1x asked, John thought for a moment, then looked at Sixer, who entirely ignored the conversation, and had left a note.
“I’ll just sleep on the floor.” It said, John read it.
“I can sleep on the bed with someone, you guys can trade off who for each night.” He said, 1x looked at Azure, then looked back at John.
“Give me some blankets and pillows and I can sleep on the floor.” He said, John looked at him.
“You sure?” He asked, 1x shrugged.
“Slept sitting up for my time in the banlands, at least this will be more comfortable.” 1x said already stealing a pillow from the bed Sixer hadn’t taken from and laying it out. Before taking a small extra blanket.
“Ok then.” John said, Azure shrugged.
“We could always trade off who sleeps on the floor.” He said, John nodded.
“Great idea.” He said, after that, everyone, except Sixer who had fallen asleep already, washed off and cleaned up, before basically passing out on the beds.
The rest of the trip was fun, a lot of the days were spent at the beach, except one day where c00lkidd managed to convince everyone to go to an amusement park, and the nights they all ate at restaurants, all was good, and it was all a good time, until they all went home. Getting home, Noli noticed that 7n7 wasn’t there, but he remembered that Azure said that the survivors were having their own vacation, and we're going to get home around the time the killers did, so Noli thought that 7n7 probably just wasn’t home yet, and went to bed, but waking up, he got a note.
“Come find them, in the alleyway door, on spectral street. Don’t bring anyone who wasn’t a part of it.” The note was fully anonymous, and Noli immediately texted everyone else, who said that they had the same notes. Noli couldn’t just leave c00lkidd, but taking him was risky, but in the end he decided to take the kid.
“No matter what will happen, you stay right at my side, ok?” Noli said, c00lkidd sniffled and nodded, and the group arrived, they searched around and found the door, and with a collective deep breath, and walked in.
