Chapter Text

The air reeked of smoke and iron, Strong winds causing the smell to spread around the area, cheap swore he could hear the sound of burning leaves right behind him, the wind picking up even harsher howling, causing them to rattle, however it wasn’t his main concern. Not even close, Cheap stared at the rotting man below him. “…” he tried to speak maybe say something but nothing came out, he was to in shock with the sight below him,

Camman didn’t look like a warrior anymore, his chest-plate was extremely cracked, damaged with large amounts of slashes, blood filling up the cracks, Same pattern included his helmet and shoulder pads, While the bottom half of his armour was untouched it didn’t make a difference. Cheap could only watch Camman weakly struggle. Despite the condition he was left in, Cam didn’t give up,

he never has and never would. Using both of his hands He tried to push up from the wooden floor, feeling a mix of sharp splinters and his own blood spreading around finger tips and palms. Applying pressure to his hands only caused more pain to the fresh burns. whining in agony before pushing up on his body, getting on one knee, letting out a harsh sigh as he tried to get up, however his attempt was pointless, he was to weak, just before he hit half way up. it wasn’t long before his whole body completely gave up, forcing him to fall forward onto the scarred wood with a loud thud.

Landing on his arms. Causing Cam to scream in pain- then being cut off with a choked gasp. feeling blood pool into his mouth, it started to leak down his chin, dripping onto the wood staining it. his heart pounding violently in his chest. His body was shaking making everything hard to process, like it was ever easy to take in it the first place. “It hurts..” was the only thing he managed to force out of his breath before collapsing.
Cheap took a step back, panic and worry filled his confused mind more, unsure of what to do,
what could he do? what can he do.

Cheap looked over to his warriors sword. long forgotten wedged between one of the wood logs, before panning back at cam. Expecting more struggling or anything but nothing came out. he wasn’t moving. Out of panic cheap bent down getting on his knees in front of cam, staring at the back of his chest plate. noticing the large holes with stained blood and material flaking.

cheap grabbed cams waist as best as he could from this position, “gently” pushing him onto his back, causing a large number of whines and whimpers, Cam gasped from the new uncomfortable position, throwing his arms down on each side to weakly grasp onto something. Despite the fact he wasn’t going anywhere (foreshadowing LOL)

it wasn’t long before this action stopped, any sign of movement was lost.
Cheap couldn’t even focus enough to see if Camman was still breathing. His crossed eye disability wasn’t making this any easier, including the bulky chest plate. As cheaps mind was spinning a memory flashed in, remembering something Tucker taught him. Cheap grabbed one cams arms, pressing his palm to cams scarred wrist-

the pulse was there.

a tiny, erratic flutter, like a trapped moth, cheap let out a deep sigh before rechecking. then it wasn't there.
cammans low breathing hitched, before he threw his head back, with a light thud.

Cheap stared at cams face from his distance, while lightly shifting uncomfortably on his knees, with only hope in his eyes as his watched. A dry rattle caught in the back of cams throat, shutting his eyes with one last breath. His agonised shaped mouth turned into a light smile.

“You have it in you cheap. You’ll make me proud.”

was the last words he was able to get out of his drying throat. Cams hand twitched against nothing, fingers curling once more before going completely still, the tension dropping from his knuckles all at once. Cheap felt the arm he was holding go limp.  His eyes widened, unsure of what to say, what could he say? It was to late. The person he looked up to was gone.

The only person that believed in him was gone. Nothing but his cold corpse was left. cheap knew he should be showing more emotion right now, grief? sorrow? sadness? even anger but, nothing came he could only stare in shock. Unable to show emotion. His grip on cams arm only got less strong the longer he was there, kneeled down.
…

Cheap was forced out of his thoughts. Or memory if you will, the best he could remember anyways, he stared at the stone grave he had made, was quite proud of himself as he got back to placing down his newly crafted sign. Writing words of his “own choice” The scent of fresh slashed wood was still strong in the air.

But after the last block was placed he started to zone out in thoughts once again. He didn’t understand anything then and still couldnt get his mind around it. His mind only replaying the words. The last words his mentor ever said.

“You have it in you cheap. You’ll make me proud.”

It only kept spinning. Maybe he actually had it in him. Thinking about the recent revenge taken and his enemy’s head as his own,.. maybe he was better then he thought, But that begged the question why could only one person see it? Cheap Let out a deep sigh before saying something out loud. Despite the fact no one would hear it.

“You would probably tell me, “this isnt the end just another beginning”- ..
I'll never be you, you know that but I'll do my best to carry your legacy,
“hope your proud of me, where ever you are.”

Suddenly his vision falters, Even with his poor eye sight cheap knew this wasn’t normal, for him anyways, Eyes felt heavy, it was such an uncomfortable feeling, squeezing his eyes shut to stop the “sight” , but the darkness brought no relief.

A forced shutter rushed throughout his body causing cheap to shift on his feet, maybe this will effect him more then he initially thought,
clenching fists at his sides as his breath violently hitched. Cheaps eyes flashed open, panning up, looking at the scattered ceiling, tracing jagged branches that fused into wood walls, his jaw locked, trying to fight the sob climbing up his throat,  It wasn’t long before tears started to pool down from his eyes, running down his cheek, ending somewhere on the floor to disintegrate.

Cheap only questioned himself in this moment.

“Why was i feeling like this? “

“Why am I holding onto myself? “

“Why am I shaking? “

“Why does Camman believe in me.”

Cheap
