I hate Naruko .

I hate her stupid blonde hair .

I hate the way she walks around school care free.

I hate that my mom wants me to be more like her, less rebellious, less judgemental.

"Sas-"

As if I would ever agree to that, even thinking about acting remotely close to how she acts makes me feel sick.

"Sasuko-"

Just seeing how she behaves around the guys in class is enough for me to want to pull on that ridiculously high ponytail of hers and tell her to get some self respect-

"Sasuko!"

"What!"

Sasuko snapped her head around to her left, broken out of her staring contest with the back of Naruka's head and now staring at Sakuro next to her who had two pencils balanced on top of his lip, making some kind of expression with his lips towards her that was full of pride over his achievement. Sasuko rolled her eyes, the corners of her lips curling up in amusement despite her actively trying to act annoyed at Sakuro after snapping at him, after all she couldn't really be angry today of all days.

It was the last day of middle school.

The last day she would have to stand the stares she would get from popular kids, the last day she would have to eat bland food the lunch ladies put out everyday, the last day the would have to share the same spaces as Naruka all of the time. She would finally get freedom from the social pyramid that she's so hopelessly stuck at the bottom of in school, the only thing that would matter to her now  was summer and what days she could hang out with Sakuro. That was, until she would have to go into High School at the other end of that summer, but she could ignore that right now and just focus on making it to the end of her final day.

The class was loud with other kids laugher and chairs being dragged against the tiled floors, groups of friends sitting with one another one last time before a new chapter in their life was about to begin. The educational video that the teacher had left playing before she left class to go and discuss plans with other teachers for the holidays could barely be heard over everyone talking to each other, no one cared about what teachers where trying to teach them now their time in middle school was up and it was too late to try and drill anything else into them while summer is waiting right at the door. The clock was ticking down the seconds before they were all free, Sasuko could the feel the ticking in her body, chipping away at all the thick skin she's built up over the years from insults to being thrown into lockers to going home with bruised knuckles and split lips from not letting anyone treat her like shit and get away unscathed. Before Sasuko could finish her fantasies of running out of that school forever, she felt a sharp thud on the back of her head, twirling her head around and narrowing her eyes at the group of guys snickering to themselves, sneaking glances Sasuko before she spoke up.

"Which one of you threw something at me"

Silence grew between her and the group of boys, tension thickening as she refused to look away from the boy in the middle, presumably the leader of the rest of them.

"Are you all deaf? I said which one of you threw something at me"

Sasuko's glare narrowed even further as the boy scoffed in front of her, if looks could kill he would've been a pile of ashes on the floor already as she snarled at him.

"I think your just imagining things Sasuko, no one was anywhere near your head with anything."

There was a pause of just a moment. Maybe she had imagined something, or maybe she was just too tired to try and get the boy and his unappealing looking minions to fess up for what they had done, turning back around in her seat and looking over to Sakuro to start a conversation away from what she had just been talking about.

"Not that anyone would want to go near you in the first place anyways"

"The fuck did you just say about me dickhead!"

As soon as Sasuko heard the boy she couldn't contain what she had said next. Spinning around at lightning speed and already about to take a swing at the boy's left side of his face, her fist clenched tight into a ball and her knuckles face directly to they would fit right into the side of the boys nose when-

"Sasuko, its the last day of school. Cant you just let everyone have a nice time before we all don't see each other in the same classes again"

Even though she was turned around and facing the other way, her fist an inch away from giving this boy a broken nose for the rest of the summer when she stopped immediately. Sasuko could recognise that high-pitched raspy voice anywhere, the underlying snarl in those words made her nostrils flare with anger as she turned to Naruka who looked pleased with herself at the other side of the class while a smirk grew on her face and she eyed Sasuko. There was a group of boys fawning over her like she was their saviour, now those same boys where staring straight at Sasuko with gazes that could pierce skin.

"I don't see anyone here asking for your input Naruka-"

Naruka's gaze narrowed on Sasuko before interrupting her.

"And I don't see anyone else about to start a fight on the last day of school so just cut your shit for the day and shut up"

Naruka glared at Sasuko and sent her a foul grin. Her tone condescending as if she was speaking to a little kid, Naruka knew that it would give Sasuko that final push over the edge, there was nothing that could've been done to dull the small sense of happiness Sasuko was just about to feel after dealing with her once and for all.

"You really want to start this now bitch"

Sasuko was shoving herself off of her seat as she barked back at Naruka, marching her way towards her desk. today was her last day of having to deal Naruka's antic's an dit was going to be a very memorable day for everyone watching.

"Why not, its not like anyone's going to care if I get into a fight with 'loser girl'-"

There was a harsh slap sound that ringed though the classroom, cutting off Naruka immediately. The whole class grew more silent than they had ever been all year as they watched Sasuko stand there in front of Naruka and slap her right across the face. She stood there, not putting down her guard as Naruka pulled a hand up to the side of her face that had been hit, feeling the injury in pure shock for a moment.

"Fuck you."

The words were spat from Sasuko's mouth as she stood there, Naruka looking at her in pure shock as if she didn't know that Sasuko would take it this far even though she knew it was a possibility.

"You fucking bitch I'm going to kill you!"

Naruka screamed at Sasuko before lunging at her, pulling her hair and starting a full on fight between them in the middle of the class. The other kids just huddles around the two girls as the pulled punches on each other, kicking and shoving one another into desks while still trying to curse the other out. The students gathered around started chanting, Sasuko could hear the faint sound of other kids shouting, Fight! Fight! Fight!  around her but she couldn't care less, all she needed to do was keep punching and not stop until Naruka did, she could not loose this final fight between them.

Soon enough, both Sasuko and Naruka felt the shouting around them stop, each one of them still pulling punches until teachers pulled them off of each other. The normally large bang of the school bell felt awfully soft on both of their ears as adrenaline still coursed though both of them until their respective parents came to pick them up from the school office. The drives home were filled with angry mothers and disappointed fathers and yelling and discipline but all either of them could think was one single sentence.

That was the most challenged I have ever felt in my entire life, and I've never felt more alive.

Notes:

Yeah that's not the last time they see each other and its not the last time they go to the same schools lol. Also I'm defo not getting the chapter titles from songs....
I just wanted to make this chapter to show u guys reading this that like they used to despise each other when they were younger and they still will do for some time you guys dw but like they just wont randomly break out into fights in class because they'll be in high school in the next chapters and that would probably be like really embarrassing. Anyways if you guys find anything wrong about the fic just comment and tell me because I'm probably chopped at this whole writing thing lol but thank you to anyone reading :D

Notes:

This took so long holy shit like no one tells you how hard it is to make collages, anyways next chapter will be the actual fic dw but I'll upload it tomorrow because I'm busy the rest of the day, I've proof read it but I was half asleep so if there's any typo's just comment them lol if there is anyone that will read this which there probably isn't but that's okay. Also the only person I can credit for fanart I used in my collages is @bleergwh on x, really sorry I cant find any of the other artist's names as I just found the other picture's on Pinterest.
