Chapter Text

The lock clicks open, and I walk in, his hand laced in mine.

Lia, Sloane, and Micheal are standing in front of us.

"Where have you BEEN?" Micheal starts, raising an eyebrow.

"You left the house at 2:07 and you had left for exactly 194 minutes. Cassie's sleeve has mint chocolate ice cream smeared all over her right sleeve, and Dean has the receipt sticking out of his pocket." Sloane points out . . precisely.

"Alright, who gave her coffee?" Dean crosses his arms, intently looking at Micheal.

"Anyways, YOU TWO WENT ON A DATE AND DIDN'T TELL ME?" Lia dramatically exclaims.

"First of all, it wasn't a date. Secondly . . . I have no other point." I elbow Dean, hoping he'll add on.

"We just needed to go out for a bit." He looks at me, smiling a bit.

"That's exactly what people who went on a date say." Lia responds, smirking.

"I can see the hospital wristband, Cassie." Sloane says, pointing at my wrist.

"You didn't think we were that stupid, did you, Dean?" Micheal says, not even glancing at me.

"Lia and Sloane? No. You? Absolutely."

Micheal lunges at him, but Sloane steps in front of him.

"Statistics show that two peers fighting can lead to escalation into more serious conflict. We don't want that, right?" Sloane looks at him, and he sighs.

"Whatever, dude."

Well, at least Lia's having fun.

She's laughing at Micheal, of course.

Agent Briggs walks in, wearing . . . Agent Sterling's robe??

"Look what the cat dragged in." Micheal says, looking at Agent Briggs up and down.

"Guys, please go to bed. It's been a long day." He says, rubbing his eyes.

"Cassie went to the hospital." She blurts out.

"Cassie?! Are you okay?" He looks worried.

"I'm fine, I just had a panic attack."

"Positive?"

I nod at him, and he claps.

"Alright, everyone back to bed."
