Chapter Text

As it turns out when you don't have anything that you have to do you kinda just don't do.. anything. really.

But unfortunately just because Ultimates don't have to go to class like regular students that doesn't mean they don't have to do anything.

So that means Kame had submit evidence that she was ‘perfecting’ her talent, whatever that means... In reality she was just people watching, (read: watching people trip over a rock she had set up) at a cafe to figure out how exactly she was going to continue to prove she deserves her talent.

“This is ridiculous-” She fiddles in the spoon in her cup of tea, unsweetened of course, she had a preference for the less sweet things in life.

“Oh look who it is!” Her absentmindedness wss broken as she immediately looks to the voice shouting in her direction, the relaxed looking guy not being one she recognized (though that wasn't unusual).

“Who are you?” There was a certain sharpness to her words, and it's easy to see that Kame can't say anything without seeming rude. Honestly she really didn't mean it to be any harsher than how she usually was, It was really just a question.

“Huh? We met the other day? Holland?”

Oh.. the Urban explorer.

“Right,” Kame hums thoughtfully before looking away from Holland and the two others who were following him, both of whom she didn't recognize,  thoigh that just meant they weren't very important. “Did you need something?”

It was such a nice day, warm but not too hot, her cake was made so well, and she was in such a good mood.

All of these things made it clear to Kame that if she were to be forced into an interaction with these people her day would be absolutely ruined.

However... just as she was about to very politely decline any further conversations she was cut off by a loud, aggravating voice.

“GAH! Is there ever truly a NEED to speak with a classmate!” So Kitan (?) was here too, thats nice. It was a bit of a surprise for Kame since she didn't prepare for the assault on her ears.

“No. I'd rather we never speak at all.” She huffs an uncomfortable look etching itself on her face as the three seats at her table suddenly become filled.

They've made themselves awfully comfortable without an invite…

“You humans are sooo mean~” The third person finally decides to speak though it doesn't help Kame put a name to their sheepish face.

They must not have met before.

Probably.

“Occasionally.”

~°~°~°~

It wasn't long before the table becomes filled with mindless chatter, and it.. wasn't horrible.

There wasn't ever this much talking before, Konoka didn't speak all that much and trying to talk to any of the other girls at school was a death sentence.

But socializing with sheep really starts to rot your brain after a while, If you could even call what Kame was doing socializing. Truthfully it wasn't much different from what she was doing before, there wasn't any push for her to join the conversation.

That's nice.

But it could really make one wonder what the group was doing here, Kame's presence didn't add much and the only one to order anything was the weird religious looking one. (though that one had ordered more than a few things. The gluttony was crazy for reals.)

They could've just kept walking, a quick ‘hi' and then back to whatever they were doing.

But instead of doing anything like that they were just sitting at her table talking about nothing and doing nothing.

“When are you going to leave.” Kame finally spoke up after sitting in her own uncomfortable silence, the annoyance was clear on her face, though she didn't look much different from usual.

“Eventually~” The religious weirdo at her left perks up, for the first time in a while looking away from the sweets and at Kame herself.

The amount of eye contact would make a lesser man fold.

Kame was not a lesser man.

Still though she eventually scrunches her nose slightly and turns to look back at her half empty drink, this guy was weird..

She doesn't let the weirdness stop her though and so she stands, gathering what little items to leave.

“Oh! Kame!” Holland takes the chance to finally talk to her instead of keeping his focus on his.. boyfriend?

“We're going to go to karaoke, you should come.” There's a lazy smile on his face as he extends the offer to her. It's like Holland's real talent was keeping any group conversation warm and friendly.

However there was no world in which she wanted to do that.

“No.”

“Are you sure-”

“Don't ask again.” She scowls and begins to walk away, reminiscent of her leaving class the first time they met.

“Okayy we'll see you theeerree!” The freak waves her goodbye looking away from their desserts for the first time in forever.
