Chapter Text
It’s been around a week now since 1x moved in with Shedletsky. Luckily she didn’t need to interact with him as much due to the fact he had to go to work way more because of the whole being gone from the face of Robloxia for a year thing. So that meant 1x had plenty to do throughout the day! Such as playing cool math games on Shed’s computer, crashing out over Papa’s Freezeria, attempting to download games off Steam, watching whatever shit was on tv, crying at shows that were somehow actually peak, and sleeping. What a fulfilling life!!
Okay but she seriously needed to actually do something with her life. She wanted to go outside and walk around a few times but she didn’t have keys so she could either accidentally get locked out or have the house robbed. The second option sounded fine until she realized a hypothetical robber could sneak into her room and take her stuff as well. It’s not like she has super valuable shit but it matters to her at least.
She went to thinking about the stuff she did when she was younger and hanging about in the Heights. Well John Doe and sometimes Brighteyes would look after her most of the time. She’d usually play hide and seek, tag, weird Barbie roleplays, or beg to go down to Robloxia. Obviously she wasn’t going to do that now. She would’ve practiced sword fighting but she still had no idea where her swords went. So she had to continue doing a whole lot of nothing.
1x dug through the pantry but it seemed like Shedletsky had nothing good. “Yo, where’d all the good stuff go?” She asked as Shedletsky washed the dishes.
“Oh yeah I’ve been running low on groceries, ‘specially since I’m back to having two mouths to feed. I was planning on going to a grocery store later. You wanna come with?”
“No.”

She had to go anyways. 1x dragged along behind Shedletsky as he grabbed a cart and went inside the store, Rostro or something. There was a bunch of stuff at the place like Christmas decorations, couches, and giant bags of shitty popcorn. The two just headed over to the food section though. Shedletsky scanned the grocery list.
- Milk
- Chicken
- Bread
- eggs
- Apples
- Lettuce
- Chicken pot pies
- cheese
- Whatever’s on sale
Seemed easy enough to get. 1x dragged behind him bored out of her mind. She thought fresh air would do some good for her but she just wanted to go back to the house.
“Oh hey they’re still selling pumpkins!” Shed pointed out, “I really wanted to try making Jack-O-Lanterns for Halloween but I didn’t have enough time. Oh yeah during Halloween C00lkidd and his little gang found my house! Luckily I had candy and all their exploit devices were confiscated so our house didn’t get set on fire!”
“Okay.” She really did not give a fuck. She looked around until she saw a giant box of…ROBAR EXTREME CHOCOLATE CRUNCH?!?! “Yoooo! I thought they stopped selling these ages ago!”
Shed stopped walking to head over to where 1x was looking, “Do you want a box? I can get you one if you want.”
“No it’s fine.” 1x quickly got out. Shedletsky still put one in the cart anyways. Annoying.

Shedletsky looked over at the grocery list as 1x stood on the shopping cart picking at her nails. “We got the most of the stuff. We're pretty sure we just need milk and chicken pot pies.” Shedletsky noted.
“Why do we need chicken pot pies?”
“Sometimes I’m too lazy to make lunch so I used to just microwave them and eat them.”
“Okay,” she kicked her legs off the ground a little to push the cart forward.
“Be careful don’t fall,”
“I’m not eight geez dude.” She pushed the cart forward again before getting off. “So the stuff should be at the freezer area right-“
“Auntie 1x!!” 1x turned to see a little red demon child run up to her to squeeze her.
“Uh- hey Ck?” 1x awkwardly patted his head.
007n7 chuckled as he headed over the Shedletsky. “Long time no see,”
“Yooo hey! How’s things been going after you got out of y’know?” Shedletsky asked.
“Things have been going pretty good actually! Elliot spared me a job because of the c00lgui being confiscated by your gang so I finally got a stable job with weekends off. I’ve been trying to spend more time with C00lkidd too after everything. I feel real bad for leaving him sponge most of his life. Enough about me, how’s living with 1x going? Has she tried to kill you yet?”
“Surprisingly no. I think she’s just using me for free shelter and food though. I’m not complaining of course! I just hope that she gets comfortable though.”
“You could try out therapy for the both of you. Elliot recommended me a place that’s got a lot of good therapists. I think it’d be a good step to becoming a better father.”
“I don’t really know,” he looked behind him to check if 1x or Ck were listening in but the two were just messing around, “She’s barely tolerating me as of right now. She hasn’t even had a doctor appointment in goodness knows how long. I’m honestly just trying to take baby steps so the kid doesn’t hate me even more.”
“Hey I mean you’re a different person now quite literally right? You just gotta keep trying to be better everyday. You can’t do one grand gesture of kindness and have your relationship be fixed. You just have to be kind everyday.”
“I feel like I’ve heard that before,”
“I stole it from a show I finished recently,” 007n7 looked behind Shedletsky’s head to see that…Ck and 1x weren’t there he looked around more and- “C00LKIDD?!”

“-and I thought that was pretty stupid so I told Bluu that we should’ve done my plan instead!”
“Uh huh, hey where’d you drag us kid?” 1x asked.
Ck looked around and yeah they definitely weren’t with his dad. “Shoot! He’s gonna kill me if I get lost!! We have to find him before he notices!!!” He grabbed 1x’s wrist again.
“Hey-“ she stopped him before he could start getting more lost in the store. “Aren’t you supposed to wait for your dad to look for you when you get lost? That’s what I was taught at least.”
“But my dad’s gonna get mad!!”
“Why would he??? Wouldn’t he be like more worried? You’re just some ten year old kid wandering off in a store he’d be more scared you got kidnapped than upset that you ran off!”
“I’m not ten years old anymore!”
1x raised her eyebrows, “You aren’t?”
“I mean I only turned eleven earlier this month, but I’m still eleven!”
1x sighed and ruffled his hair, “You’re still a kid though let’s just stay here, stop wandering off, and wait for your dad to find you.”
“What about Mr. Shedletsky?” Ck asked.
“What about him?”
“Wouldn’t he also be looking for you?”
“…He knows I can take care of myself.”
The two just stood there for a few minutes before hearing n7 yelling Ck’s name. “C00lkidd! C00000lkiddddd!!” The brunette turned to see Ck standing there with 1x. “Oh thank god there you are!” He ran up and hugged him lifting the child off the ground.
“Papa!!” 1x looked at the two and rolled her eyes before noticing Shedletsky standing there.
“We got all the stuff, do you wanna go check out 1x?” He asked.
“Yeah sure,” she turned to Ck, “Bye Ck, bye Ck’s dad.”
“Bye 1x!!!” Ck waved excitedly.
“Bye 1x bye Shedletsky have a good day!” n7 chuckled.
1x waved back at the kid before she left with Shedletsky to go to the hell that was checkout lines. It was nice seeing Ck again.
