Chapter Text
“I think that’s the last box,” Keefe heaved as he basically threw away one of the boxes carrying Biana’s stuff.
“Hey! Be careful! That box has some of my favorite shoes in it,” Biana said frowning.
“You said that about another box too!” Keefe stood up, stretching out his back in an exaggerated way. “Ugh, you killed my back. How did you carry these crates in heels?”
Biana shrugged while turning to look another box with her clothes inside. “I think I’m just better.”
Keefe shook his head while grinning. He looked around his apartment. “Well, guess you’re my roomie now!” Biana groaned.
“…and my new coworker!”
Biana gasped and turned back to him. “You asked? And he said yes?!”
Keefe nodded enthusiastically. “Took little convincing since there’s like… no one working. Tam’s chill like that.”
So the managers name is Tam, Biana thought. “So when will I get to go and meet him and- and start the job?”
Biana was excited. She hadn’t had a job before. She hadn’t needed too before because of her family and their status, and she liked having extra free time. But now, she was older and going to college, and she thought that getting a job was best to improve herself and her resume.
And maybe it would be fun!
“I had told him you’d be here Friday, and that I’d be a little late to work because I would be helping you and Fitz unpack. We agreed this weekend or earlier in the week would be good if you wanted to start right away.” He paused to think, scratching the of his neck. “Honestly, though you could just come with me and at least see the restaurant in person! Only if you aren’t jet lagged though. I don’t want you going if you might fall asleep.”
Keefe was sweet to be considerate of that, but Biana was too excited to be in a new place to sleep.
“I’d love that! That’s perfect! I get to see the city too.”
Keefe grinned. “Yeah! But we should probably leave now…” He grabbed his car keys from his side table. “C’mon! To the Batmobile!”
They headed outside and down to Keefe’s car which they were previously in. It was evening time, so it was pretty chilly. While he drove, Biana looked around the city. It was really pretty, especially with the lights and small shops all close together. This would be a nice place to take a walk with someone, she thought.
When they arrived at the restaurant, Biana saw the big sign with the name “The Lost Diner” in a glowing cursive font. Then she noticed the big windows and the warm light coming from inside.
“This looks cozy,” she murmured. Keefe laughed beside her.
“Not on a Friday night it will be.” Keefe parks and quickly gets out, Biana following beside him. She takes note in how he parks in one of the manager spots, even though she knew he wasn’t one.
She quickly adjusts her outfit in the reflection of the car. Biana was wearing an outfit she liked. It was a soft and comfortable light pink dress that ended mid shin level, similar to something from 50s, but something Biana designed herself. Biana loved clothing and fashion, and she loved dressing up. She had parents dress with some white heels that matched the mini white fur jacket she had on. And of course, a head band.
“Stop ogling yourself.” Biana snapped her head towards a smirking Keefe who tried to look annoyed.
“Don’t be hypocritical, Keefe.” Biana walked by him, heading to the door. “Sophie doesn’t like that in guys.”
“H-hey! Don’t bring her up like that!” Biana made a smug face matching the one Keefe had before. Now, his face matched the color of her dress.
“You’re such a bully,” Keefe said while opening the door for them. “Now where is he… Aha! Tam!” Keefe called, and this guy turned around and-
Oh.
Biana tried her best to keep a straight face as the guy named Tam walked over, but she felt her face heat up either way. He was overly handsome and very good looking. He had short, messy black hair with silver tipped bangs that went stunningly with… well his face. His features were sharp and clean.
He wore a black attire; a button up and jeans with a matching apron around his waist. It was simple, but it looked really good. Why was this man working in a restaurant? He should’ve be a model!
”Keefe!” Tam snapped, walking up to them. “You can’t show up late and yell at me from across the diner!”
Despite being scolded, Keefe wasn’t fazed, which was in character for him. “Nice to see you too man. Look who I brought!” Keefe wrapped an arm around Biana’s shoulders pulling her closer. “This is Biana Vacker!”
Tam turned to her, and the anger on his face vanished. His features softened, only slightly, to look at her. His eyes were still wide from telling Keefe off, but his face more blank. They probably stared at each other for a second to long, and Biana didn’t want to make it weird.
“Hi!” Biana finally said, smiling. “Um, I’m Biana! Yeah, nice to finally meet you!” She held out her hand. After a second, he looked down and hesitantly shook hers, it was quick though. Maybe she shouldn’t have done that. Maybe he didn’t like handshakes.
“Yeah.. yeah, um, my name is Tam. Like Keefe said.” He turned after his shoulder to glance back at the tables. “I need to go back to the tables, but, ah,” he pointed at Keefe. “He’ll show you around and stuff. And for you,” he looked at Keefe and that bit of anger retuned, “you need to clock in now, show her around and then quickly help Linh and I with tables.”
A sneaky smile appeared on Keefe’s face. The one where he was going to do something evil. “Oh, yeah, don’t you worry about it Bangs Boy. I got this.” Tam shot Keefe a glare before walking away.
Hopefully he didn’t notice the blush on her face wasn’t just makeup.
Keefe looked at Biana, with that dumb, smug expression still on his face. “C’mon, I’ll show you the restaurant. Oh, and introduce you to Linh!”
