Chapter Text

Ewron did not reach out to Katie when her husband seemingly disappeared. He did not reach out at all.

As a priest he had shame in the failure that occurred during the wedding. He knew how much this meant to Katie, which both filled him with anger and sadness. He wanted it to be him but if it was what Katie wanted then he had truly failed her.

Katie was so hurt and seemingly had no interest in coming to his ruined church. Ewron spent a fair amount of time on his own during her mourning. He had nothing to offer her, or anyone. He felt for Katie in every way he could, he filled his every waking moment thinking about her. Though he hardly saw her.

Weeks passed when he saw her again. The ruined church was long forgotten, the priest had resorted to building a more central business unlike his Zabka. A casino, money that could go to his church and faith. His days seemed mindless.

Then came Katie. She moved in seemingly quick. Setting up her own place next to his casino, much like their past businesses where he had first met Katie.

Their interacts were the regular, the annoyed back and forth they always performed. Even as Ewron’s heart ached, even as he prayed with her name on his lips each night.

When her headquarters was established he was quick to make entering easy access. He’d break windows, breaking in even when she wasn’t home. Everything smelled like her within the building, everything felt like her. Even his photo on her enemies list.

At times he’d break in at night when he knew she was home. He’d make sure to be quiet as he made his way to her room. He knew her headquarters like it was his.

He’d never do anything. He’d never touch his god within permission. That was a privilege. Yet, at times as he watched her he wondered if she even remembered. If she’d still listen to his prayers. If he was still her priest.

Then she would stir like she’d heard him and his heart would race. Her beautiful feathered wings, her hair and her peacefulness. The power she held over him.

He would get on his knees and pray to her, worship her in a whisper beside her bed. Smell her, see her and hear her. Sometimes he would lay on the floor beside her, he could never sleep afraid she would find him. He’d go home and he wouldn’t sleep, riding the high of having been so close.

Then one night. Katie was not alone. He’d heard of the stupid Federation egg. He hadn’t known it was Katie’s. He’d watch from afar like he always did.

He watched as Katie and Multi watched over their child. Like a family. Like a couple. Tomate was still ignoring her, a thought Ewron could not fathom. Neither Tomate or Multi cared for Katie like he did.

Yet, the more he watched the more he doubted. Katie was happy, more than she had been since the wedding. Since he had let her down. The wedding could have been perfect. Maybe then she would’ve kept going to church.

Maybe Multi wouldn’t be in the picture, Multi and her child. They took up her time so often she was never alone now. She didn’t sleep alone. Multi would spend the nights on occasion and he could never see his intentions much less how holy he was.

Katie was a god, Multi was some psycho. Everyone knew it. He didn’t deserve her. When Dark Cucurucho told him his goals, he agreed easily. If he could get rid of the child maybe she would continue to sleep alone.

Ewron would do anything. He needed Katie. He worshipped her completely, she was everything there was on earth. She was the creator of everything to him. She was everything. No one could take her away from him.

It was easy to break in like it always was. Multi was not sleeping over. The egg would be dealt with by Dark Workers. He could get to Katie. He could explain.

He walked through the house calmly as the workers did what they needed to. He stayed silent as he entered Katie’s room.

He stood there like he always did, watching her breathe. She looked as beautiful as ever. As heavenly as ever. She was so amazing, he felt blessed to lay his eyes on her. He had missed it. The moon hitting her so well. He could remember the setting sun hitting his stained glass windows in the church. How beautiful she had been there as well.

He walked closer and kneeled beside her bed, his eyes watching carefully.

“Katie..” His voice sounded small, like a wounded animal. He looked like one as well, his eyes all big and pouty.

Her wings ruffled but she stayed asleep. He raised his voice only slightly.

“Katie.”

She startled then. Of course she recognised the voice, only that it was so out of place her body practically flinched at it. Her eyes were wide when they landed on Ewron’s.

Sitting up now he was below her on his knees. Without realising it, his hands were clasped together. She didn’t speak, simply staring at him. She couldn’t tell if it was real.

“Ewron? What the fuck?”

She shifted once more, suddenly aware of her disheveled hair and her nightgown. She didn’t bother to cover her body but only to sit straighter and fix her hair.

“Katie, oh Katie.” Ewron sighed and came closer to the bed so his whole front leaned on it. Desperate to be close to her.

“They do not see your power, Multi he..” He added dramatic pause for effect. “I saw him kill sweet Nacho, he has been lying you have to believe me I would never lie to you.” His voice was desperate.

Katie stared at him for a long time. Processing what she’d heard.

“Ewron what are you talking about?”

“Katie he is bad and Nacho is gone. They have left you.” He had to fight himself from sounding happy. He was lying like he always did. Only this time it would work.

“Katie you deserve more. You know I can give you more. I would never, I could never betray you.” He rambled, as his hands reached for hers unsure of himself.

Katie got out of bed quickly to check Nacho’s room. The workers had already taken him. Ewron scrambled after her.

“He betrayed you Katie.” He watched her carefully to see how she would react, how he could help her.

She stared at the empty room for a while before moving. She was moving to leave, to storm out. Possibly confront Multi.

Ewron rushed after her, grasping her hand.

“Katie, sweet Katie please. He is not worth you. Let me reassure you. Let me worship you.” He laughed a bit manically at the last part, thinking back to the church. Being her priest. Being the one to worship her.

He quickly got to his knees, pulling her toward him. He loved looking up at her. Her nightgown complimented her even in it’s loose fit. She looked like an angel. He was almost hard that the very sight of her.

“He did you wrong, I can kill him myself just let me show you my devotion.” He smiled up at her desperately. His eyes were like dark saucers.

If Katie was being honest, she’d been ignoring Ewron. The way he would look at her almost like a kicked puppy. She’d been so busy lately it was easy to distract herself from him.

Now Ewron was here on his knees all over again. She wanted to insult him, she should insult him. But his devotion fed her ego in every way possible. She got a kick out of him like this. She’d missed it even.

Her hand laced into his hair, fisting it tightly. He’d whimper at the rough tug. Katie wasn’t stupid.

“What the hell did you do?”

It wasn’t so much a question but a command. One she knew he’d follow, he’d follow anything she said. At least that’s what she assumed.

Ewron would do anything to keep Katie, even disobey.

“I only saw Multi take Nacho’s corpse Katie, I swear. I would never lie to you.” His voice was frantic. He made his way closer still kneeling before her. His hands levitated only over her hips. His body was buzzing being this close to her. He didn’t even notice his hard on.

Katie’s grip tightening and Ewron whined in return. His face all pouty and pathetic.

“I’m leaving.”

Katie’s words were venom, practically final. She tossed Ewron away by his hair, causing him to fall back. As she walked away Ewron scrambled after her.

“Please, please, please.. Kurwa please!” He begged her gripping her arm and turning her back with tears in his eyes.

“Stay with me please kurwa! Let me be your priest, let me worship you please!” He begged pathetically, desperate and needy. He’d kept it all in for months it had festered in his very soul.

“I have a family now Ewron, I’m not some silly bride anymore.” She was being harsh, it did nothing to calm him down if anything it made him want her more.

“You were never a silly bride Katie, you’re a complete god.” Ewron was shaking, “You’re powerful and beautiful. They don’t deserve you. I’ll give you anything you want, everything you want.”

Katie stared down at him for a long while. Watching him closely. He was breathing heavy. She could see now he was hard. After all her harsh and rude words he was just as needy as he had been in the church. So desperate to be hers.

“Are you unhappy in your role as my priest Ewron?”

He was quick to respond with a sharp and quick shaking of his head. “Of course not, I just… I want to worship you. I need to. I’ve prayed every night. Every night Katie. You are my complete faith. I believe and think of nothing but you.”

Katie knew he was being honest there, if not lying about everything else about Nacho and Multi. She could practically smell his jealousy. She’d seen him watching. He knew she’d seen too. It was almost like he wanted her to.

“Your devotion is sickening.” She stated grabbing his face. He couldn’t talk like this so Katie simply looked over his disheveled state.

Katie wasn’t one for caring about consequences. She would do what she wanted and that was that. Even if she had better things to be doing. Like saving some kid.

Her grip tightened on his jaw and dragged him to her lips. It was quick but at the break away Ewron’s lips left slightly open.

“Please.. kurwa please Katie..” The words hardly left his mouth, they were less than a whisper. Like breathes from his chest escaping from his heart.

Katie only smiled down at the poor priest. She then tugged him along with her. Pulling him toward her room. She walked the rest of the way, listing to him scramble from where the tug had made him tumble over to follow her.
