Chapter Text
30 years ahead of time.
How could this happen?
Riddle had read about mages from far ago who could travel through time, but that magic was forbidden and no longer taught.
So how exactly had he ended up here?
Riddle had distant memories of similar things happening before.
Memories where he had traveled to a beach and went to other worlds.
Those seemed like a distant dream his mind had produced.
Part of him hoped this was a dream.
Another part…..
Well, he shouldn't dwell on it too long.
“Well what do you think Glodfishie?”
Oh, yes Floyd was stuck here with him as well.
It could have been anyone really, but of course it was Floyd.
“Hm?”
Floyd huffed,” What are we supposed to do, Goldfish?”
Riddle quieted down noting that Floyd had let go of the student they had been interrogating.
Subconsciously his grip on the book tightened.
Floyd glanced down two toned eyes staring at the book in hatred.
“The book did it! It yanked us from our time and straight into here,” he shouted, waving his arms around to gesture.
Riddle rolled his eyes, “Oh honestly are you still on that. The pages are blank. We’re both competent mages if it had magic at least one of us would have detected that by now.”
For all his talk Riddle wasn’t entirely sure what he was saying was the truth.
Even he was beginning to doubt the book’s innocence.
The red head exhaled attempting to gather his thoughts together ,”Well..standing in the middle of the hall certainly won’t do anything.”
He paused thinking of the next course of action they had already disrupted two students, something Riddle didn’t want to allow no matter the timeline.
Plus it would be unwise to draw attention to themselves.
At the same time it’s clear they'll need help from other people especially since they had no idea how they got here themselves.
Gripping the book even tighter, Riddle cautiously moves down the hallway.
He didn’t check to see if Floyd was following him as he could hear the eel’s footsteps trailing behind him.

Dire Crowley was an amazing headmage sure he had allowed a few students to overblot, but that was all in the past!
He paid no mind to the horrible accusations that he was an "incompetent headmage.”
He’s kept the school running for over 100 years!
And contrary to popular belief he cares very much about his students health and safety.
Imagine his surprise while he’s filling out very important paperwork, Crowley gets a knock on his door.
“I thought I told the students to talk to Crewel if they need something,” he thought.
His first idea was to ignore the knocking and hope the student thinks he’s not here.
To his shock (and annoyance) the knocking resumed.
Sighing he slowly gets up from his desk plastering on a kind smile (though it comes off more pissed than anything).
Mentally preparing a speech about how you should never bother important people he opens the door.
Staring back at him are a younger Floyd and Riddle Leech.
The small Riddle stares at him with such intensity it makes him feel a bit scared.
“We must talk,” he says, leaving no room for discussion.
The red head then invites himself and by extension Floyd into the room.
“Oh yes of course!” Crowley squeaks, taking a seat at his desk in an embarrassingly clumsy manner, “Do tell!”
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Floyd stared at the headmage.
Seriously, how did this man still have a job?
Riddle and he not so patiently waited for Crowley to digest the information that had been thrown at him.
“Well…this is a…issue.”
Yeah no shit!
The bird cleared his throat," Since this is such a huge matter I’ll have to consult the housewardens as well as the staff. After a discussion we will inform you on what has been decided. For now you can just stay here.”
“With all due respect-” Riddle started, but Crowley was already out of the room.
“Are we listening to Manta Ray Goldfish?”
“Well what else can we do?” Riddle questioned,”It’s not like we can just return to our dorms, in other words we’re practically stranded right now.’
Floyd hummed in response watching Riddle take a seat in one of the lounge chairs (the one Crowley decided to invest in using the school’s donations).
The eel flopped down on the chair next to Riddle throwing an arm over the “previous” housewarden's shoulders.
“Off with your head!”
“Bind the heart.”
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“You’re joking.”
The headmage was met with the judgemental stares of the housewardens for some odd reason.
He didn’t even have anything to do with it this time!
“I wish I could say I was, but sadly I am not. Now being an amazing headmage I am figuring out how to send our guest homes as we speak! The only issue is they have nowhere to go.”
The story Crowley had gone with was telling the housewardens that two mages had been transported here by mistake.
It was merely a magical accident and they would be home soon enough.
Crowley knew that everyone would be a bit more hesitant if he mentioned they were from the past so he decided to conveniently forget that rather small detail.
“So you want to keep them in one of our dorms?” the Pomefiore housewarden question.
“Yes, as well as having your dorm keep them a secret,” Crowley glanced around nervously as if the press was inside the meeting room,”We also would like to keep this out of the public for as long as possible.”
None of the housewardens questioned why Crowley was so set on keeping this a secret.
Pick and choose your battles fit the situation quite well.
“Well I can't because my dorm is too crowded, someone’s bound to say something.” The housewarden of Heartslybul spoke up.
“Yeah I don’t think it’s a good idea to have them stay in my dorm. Normies kinda scare my students.” The Ignihyde housewarden whispered.
“I’m sorry, could you speak up ?” Crowley said.
“THEY CAN'T STAY IN MY DORM!”
“Oh well alright,” Crowley sighed,” What about the rest of you?”
Finally the Pomefiore housewarden spoke up,” I personally don’t have a problem with those two students staying at my dorm.”
“What I don’t get is why we’re having the debate when it’s pretty obvious they should just go to Octavinelle.”
Everyone turned their head to the Savanclaw housewarden.
Pleased with the focus on them they continued,” Isn’t that dorm supposed to be hospitality or something. Just dump them on Iris. I'm sure he’ll find a use for them.”
Iris, who had been watching the whole ordeal silently, decided this was a good time to speak up,” Actually the Octavinelle dorm represents benevolence.” Iris paused, taking some time to think,"Although giving people a needed shelter would be considered an act of it. Therefore I do not mind housing these guests.”
“Could have just said you would do it.” Someone grumbled.
Iris ignored them, turning his focus towards the Pomefiore housewarden, “ You said you wanted them.”
The other housewarden scoffed, “Nope, they're all yours.”
Crowley clapped his hands, “ Splendid well that settles it these new comers will be staying in Octavinelle for the time being.”
