Chapter Text
Kazuha stepped closer.
Slowly.
Deliberately.
“You once said fireworks leave something behind,” he said.
Yoimiya blinked slightly.
“…Yeah.”
“I think you do the same.”
Her breath caught.
“I wasn’t certain at first,” he continued. “Whether this feeling belonged to the conversations… or to you.”
He reached up—hesitated for only a fraction of a second—then gently brushed a strand of hair from her face.
“I know now.”
That was all the warning she got.
Before he kissed her.
Soft.
Unhurried.
Certain.
Yoimiya froze for half a second—
Then melted into it.
When they pulled apart, she let out a quiet, almost disbelieving laugh.
“…Okay. Yeah. That was worth the wait.”
Kazuha smiled faintly.
“I agree.”
She looked up at him, something steadier in her expression now.
“So what are we?”
He considered the question.
Then answered simply:
“Something that continues.”
Yoimiya grinned—this time softer, but no less genuine.
“Yeah,” she said. “I like that.”
She reached for his hand.
And this time—
Neither of them hesitated.
Above them, the sky stretched wide.
No fireworks now.
No fleeting bursts.
Just something quieter.
And somehow—
More lasting.
