Chapter Text
Gregory walked through the house, his brow furrowed and his expression wary. Luke walked beside him, looking frightened. He truly missed his parents. Gregory understood perfectly. He missed them too.
But the difference was that mine would never return...
Gregory's jaw tightened slightly. The past couldn't be changed, even if he wanted to. But it still hurt a lot. It hurt to know that the being born from him, Rab, had killed them.
"Hey," Abby called, approaching them, happy and excited.
"Hey," Gregory replied.
"Gregory, can I ask you something?"
He nodded. "Sure."
"In your world, is there a version of Chica?"
Gregory was completely shocked, remembering the past and how he had planned to destroy her. At that moment, he thought it was what they deserved, since they had attacked him first. But then, after learning about his past and going to Pizzaplex and taking the Glamrocks' programs out of there, he felt pretty bad. They weren't the bad guys in this story. They never were.
The bad guy was that damned endoskeleton.
"Gregory?" Abby asked, confused.
"Yes, there is!" Luke answered for him.
Gregory thanked Luke for that. He was still really caught up in those memories of the past and the guilt that surrounded them.
"That's amazing!" Abby exclaimed happily. "Could I go see her when you go back to your world?" Luke remained silent and looked at Gregory. Gregory clenched his jaw even tighter. "Did something happen?" Abby asked, worried.
"Well..." Gregory began, still very nervous. "What's happening is that she's... She's recovering."
"Recovering?" Abby asked, saddened and worried. "Is she okay?"
It was all my fault...
"Well... She'll be..." Gregory murmured, trembling slightly. "But for now, she needs to rest..."
"Oh..."
Gregory hoped that answer would be enough for Abby. The truth was, they had been rescued during that descent. But they still hadn't woken up, and there was a chance they wouldn't. And it was all his fault...
Gregory started walking away; he needed to be alone.
Abby and Luke started calling after him, but he needed to lose himself in his thoughts. He needed... He wanted to cry...
