RUMBLE
Noelle slowly opened her eyes. The last thing she could remember was that giant thing Berdly had created sending them falling down. How long had it been? Minutes? Hours? Days? The dream had long since turned into a nightmare. She got up and began to walk out of the ruined mech, still disoriented, when in her peripheral vision she saw…!
BANG
An Avian Titan Spawn had charged toward her, only for an injured Susie to block it with her axe.
*NOELLE! RUN! -Susie yelled before the Titan Spawn charged again, knocking Susie out cold.
*Oh my god, Susie! -Noelle shrieked.
When the Titan Spawn turned up her, Noelle cast IceShock desperately and encased the Spawn in ice. But just as quickly as it was sealed, it began to shake and crack its icy tomb.
Noelle tried to use HealPrayer on Susie but her HP had been sent very low.
She healed 60 HP, only sending Susie’s Total up to -428.
So instead, she desperately carried Susie over to the mech, and found Kris and Ralsei, who immediately understood.
The Three, no words said between them, entered a battle with the freed Spawn.
*AVIAN TITAN SPAWN
*AT 19 DF 1
*A shard of fear, taken the shape of a bird. It appears in places of deep dark.
*Fortunatly, this specific Spawn has already been weakened by Susie.
The party finds is true, as the Titan Spawn had its health reduced to 34%, or 1020.
The party dosent utilize this however, as Kris simply BANISHES the Spawn.
As the group begins to calm down, Berdly wakes up from within the robotic grave.
*What… what the hell happene..!
His query was quickly interrupted by Ralsei flying over and grabbing Berdly by the neck. He began to float slightly, and to his credit, Ralsei looked very intimidating in that moment. Berdly even swore he could see tiny flames circling him.
*You IDIOT!
*Do you have ANY IDEA what you’ve brought upon us all?!
*I… I Didn’t know!
*I couldn’t have known!
*Why… didn’t you tell us… if it was that important…?
Berdly’s words, although they meant well, only invoked more rage within Ralsei. Ralsei’s hands began to smolder when Kris ran up to him and shook him, knocking Berdly out of his grasp.
Kris didn’t speak. They barely could on their own due to the parasite that had taken their freedom. But they could change their expression. They looked at Ralsei, their face cut in some places and their eyes tired (not just from the fall, but from their recent lack of sleep.) as they started into Ralsei’s equally tired eyes. Their expression conveyed a simple request.
*(Please. Stop.)
Ralsei stood there. He stoop there for quite a bit. He didn’t
know what to say. Who would? Ralsei then shook. He shook for a few seconds before collapsing and bursting into tears. He burrowed into the arms of Kris, who held him without complaint.
They stayed like that for a bit. Ralsei needed it. He needed it so badly.
*This… this wasn’t supposed to happen… -Ralsei whispered through tears.
*We were supposed to…
*We should have been..
Kris, with what little autonomy they had, managed to choke out,
*Ralsei. It dosent matter that this is what happened. All we can do is move forward. All we can do is… proceed.
Kris knew that feeling better than anyone. Watching the future fall apart around them while all you can do is stand around helplessly.
1 hour later…
At this point, Susie had been healed. However, Queen had been greatly damaged in the fall, and was completely unresponsive. Ralsei theorized that they could fix her up at the palace.
The road to the palace was long. Many of the paths leading to the Palace were now either blocked by debris, or infested with Titan Spawn. While the Fun Gang battled a few of them, they were sparse, and they never battled more than 2 at a time.
Eventually, they arrived at the long carpet leading into the Mansion. It had seen better days. The Palace was leveled, the flashy neon lights destroyed and half the building either gone or ablaze.
The party looked over to the far left. The Avian Titan towered over the Cyber Field (it had naturally wondered over to the field) and was causing havoc as usual) and shivered. They hadn’t been able to get a good look at the thing with all the chaos surrounding its birth, but now they could see it clearly. Its torso and lower half were completely pitch black, with avian claws and feathers, occasionally forming the pattern of a Titan Eye. The wings were completely white, and the head mostly resembled Berdly’s, however it was black, save for the giant star covering what would be the eyes.
Berdly stepped toward the Palace, and defiantly stated:
*I just want this dream to be over already…
Susie and Ralsei flinched. The two looked at each other before saying together to Berdly and Noelle:
*Theres something we have to tell you two.
