Chapter Text
The morning had been peaceful.
Suspiciously peaceful.
Enrai had spent most of breakfast arguing with Kaminari over the last piece of toast.
Kaminari had lost.
Nobody was surprised.
Afterward, Enrai had settled on the couch with a coloring book while Izuku sat nearby reading.
Bakugou was in the kitchen.
Everything felt normal.
Then the doorbell rang.
Iida looked up.
"I'll get it."
Before he could stand, a staff member appeared at the entrance carrying a large package.
"This was delivered for Bakugou."
Bakugou glanced over from the kitchen.
"For me?"
The package was wrapped beautifully.
Too beautifully.
Dark paper.
A silver ribbon.
No return address.
Bakugou frowned.
"Who sent it?"
The staff member shook his head.
"Unknown."
Aizawa immediately looked up.
"Don't open it."
Bakugou crossed his arms.
"I wasn't planning to."
Kaminari leaned forward.
"Maybe it's a secret admirer."
Bakugou glared.
"Do you want to become a corpse?"
Kaminari leaned back.
"Never mind."
Mina walked closer.
"Can we at least see the card?"
Aizawa inspected the package carefully.
No visible wires.
No obvious mechanism.
Nothing suspicious.
Still, he didn't like it.
"Bring it here."
The package was placed on the table.
Bakugou approached.
Enrai was still coloring.
He barely paid attention.
Until Bakugou touched the ribbon.
The little boy's crayon slipped from his fingers.
It hit the floor.
He stared at the package.
His face went completely pale.
Izuku noticed immediately.
"Enrai?"
The child didn't answer.
His breathing had changed.
Short.
Fast.
His eyes were fixed on the silver ribbon.
"Enrai?"
The boy suddenly stood.
"Don't."
Everyone looked at him.
His voice trembled.
"Don't open it."
Bakugou frowned.
"Why?"
Enrai shook his head.
"Just don't."
Aizawa immediately stepped between the child and the package.
"What's wrong?"
Enrai backed away.
His eyes never left it.
"I've seen that before."
Silence.
Izuku crouched beside him.
"Where?"
Enrai's breathing became faster.
"In my world."
Bakugou's expression hardened.
"What was inside?"
Enrai shook his head.
"I don't know."
"You don't know?"
"I never saw it."
"Then how do you know?"
Enrai's eyes filled with tears.
"Because..."
He swallowed.
"Mama told me not to touch gifts from strangers."
Bakugou went still.
The words were harmless.
But Enrai looked terrified.
Izuku gently placed a hand on his shoulder.
"It's okay."
Enrai shook his head.
"No."
His voice became smaller.
"It happened before."
Aizawa looked toward Bakugou.
"What happened?"
Enrai's eyes flickered toward him.
For a moment, he wasn't looking at the Bakugou standing in front of him.
He was looking somewhere else.
Somewhere far away.
---
The memory came without warning.
A different room.
A different house.
A much younger Enrai.
He remembered sitting on the floor.
His Mama had been standing near the doorway.
There had been a package on the table.
A beautiful one.
Dark wrapping.
Silver ribbon.
His Mama had stared at it for a long time.
Then his voice had become cold.
"Don't touch it."
Little Enrai had looked up.
"Why?"
"Because I said so."
Mama had picked it up.
He remembered Papa entering the room.
"What is that?"
"Nothing."
Papa had frowned.
"You don't look like it's nothing."
Mama had sighed.
"Someone sent it again."
"Again?"
"Again."
Enrai remembered the way Papa's expression had changed.
And then—
the memory vanished.
---
Enrai blinked.
He was back in the dorm.
His small hands were shaking.
Bakugou had crouched in front of him.
"Hey."
Enrai stared at him.
Bakugou's voice was softer than usual.
"Look at me."
Enrai did.
"It's not the same world."
Enrai's eyes filled.
"But it happened there."
"I know."
"They sent gifts."
Bakugou frowned.
"Who?"
Enrai hesitated.
"I don't know."
"Someone who liked Mama?"
The child nodded.
"Too much."
The room became quiet.
Aizawa looked at the package again.
"Don't open it."
This time nobody argued.
The package was immediately moved away.
Enrai watched until it disappeared from sight.
Only then did his shoulders relax.
Izuku gently rubbed his back.
"You don't have to tell us anything else."
Enrai looked up.
"But..."
"It's okay."
Izuku smiled.
"We'll figure it out."
Bakugou stood.
His eyes remained on the package.
Something about this bothered him.
Not because of the gift itself.
Because of Enrai's reaction.
The child hadn't been merely frightened.
He had recognized it.
And somewhere inside a five-year-old's memories was something none of them were ready to see yet.
Enrai suddenly grabbed Bakugou's hand.
Bakugou looked down.
"Don't let him take you."
Bakugou froze.
"Who?"
Enrai's fingers tightened around his.
"The person who sent it."
Bakugou crouched again.
"I'm not going anywhere."
Enrai stared at him.
"Promise?"
Bakugou's expression softened.
"Promise."
The little boy nodded.
But he still didn't let go.
And across the room, Izuku quietly watched them.
Because now there was another question.
One much more frightening than why did Enrai come here?
Someone in his universe had been obsessed with Bakugou.
And apparently...
that obsession might not belong to only one universe.
