I wanted to let you know that I’m going to modify and rewrite this fanfic. It will likely take a long time, so I’m marking the story as "Hiatus"—partly because I know editing the chapters will take a while, and partly because my posting schedule will be very irregular, so I don't want you expecting new chapters anytime soon.
There’s also something I didn't include in the tags: this story will differ from others I’ve read. Most of them rely on misunderstandings that lead to Cale getting scolded and make serious issues seem trivial. This story aims to help them understand Cale.
Honestly, I reached a point where I started hating characters who have brains but choose not to use them—specifically the adults, and—to be frank—Raon and On. I know that sounds harsh, but they are both very intelligent; they ought to understand, at least a little, what Cale is feeling. Say what you will, but Raon is a dragon first and a child second; he is aware of many things.
In my opinion, the way Cale is cared for and treated actually hurts him more than actual injuries. I’m mentioning this because my views might differ from yours, and I wanted to give a heads-up before facing criticism. I feel like I’ve seen enough fanfics where Cale can’t be happy—where he ends up dead, betrayed, abandoned, or simply never understood, despite everything.
I also plan to publish other reaction fanfics, but none will deviate from this approach. If you don't like it, I’d appreciate it if you didn't leave negative comments; otherwise, you are welcome to read my work.
