The phantom was lounging on the couch of their Lair when something gold suddenly flashed out of the corner of his eye. His head snapped towards it, and he raised a shield immediately, and the unknown golden thing smacked into the shield and then fell to the floor. The phantom’s fire hair roiled for a second, and he breathed out slowly and in annoyance. Vlad was lounging in his own chair, reading a book and holding a mug of tea, frozen in his seat.
The phantom bent over and picked the thing off the ground, holding it to his eye. It was tiny, barely the size of his smallest claw.
Vlad tilted his head and frowned in confusion. “Is that . . . a needle?”

Danny was eating dinner with his family when he felt a sharp prick of something at the back of his head. “Ow!” He flinched forward and rubbed his head.
His mom looked up at him with a slight frown. “Is everything ok sweetie?”
Danny nodded. “Yeah I just, felt something sharp poke my head.”
Jazz looked around, then picked something up off the floor. “Look Danny, maybe it was this?”
It looked like a, broken piece of needle? Danny squinted at it. “Weird.”
His dad frowned, and took a big bite out of their dinner, not waiting to finish chewing before speaking. “I bet it was those ghosts. Don’t worry Danny-o, we’ll get em back for it.”
Maddie took a small bite of her own food, and swallowed. “Remember to chew, dear.”

Dani was watching an underground fighting ring, cheering and jeering alongside everyone else in the crowd when she felt a sharp prick on her head. “Ow!” She rubbed the back of her head and looked around, glaring at the people around her, but she couldn’t tell if anyone had done it. She grumbled to herself and turned back to the stage just in time to see the guy she bet on knock out his opponent with a solid punch. “Woohoo!” she yelled, throwing her arms up in the air. “Pay up losers!”
