Chapter Text
After getting themselves together and to have Jecka fully explain everything, they’ve got back on the road while it’s still nighttime out and dark as ever when driving the same exact road for 2-3 hours, to have the rest of the girls and Nicole to be asleep while Jecka and Megan were the only two up to be switched and continuing driving.
-snoring from Nicole, Emily, and Ari-
“Ugh.. This is a long stretch of road between where we're at and the city, huh..?”
“Seems so.. And I can’t seem to keep my eyes open for another two seconds or so because of all the sleeping and snoring throughout the back..” Megan said, trying to keep herself awake while on the road.
“Aww… She looks so peaceful sleeping there..” Jecka said to Nicole’s sleepiness.
“Yeah.. Hopefully that’ll be me when you take over the wheel and have someone else wake up for the next one.”
“But how when they’re all asleep–”
“I don’t care if it’s either them doing it while sleeping, I just want either you or them AWAKE to take over the wheel so I can rest.”
“Fine then. I’ll take over the wheel. Just pull over and I'll take over until we land somewhere that’s not Oklahoma if you trust me with your car after being in Kentucky.”
“I trust you this time, Jecka. Don’t screw this up or try to kill us.”
“Oh, don’t worry, Just sleep your ass in the seat, and let me have my moments.”
“Alright, alright.” Megan said, laying back and resting quicker than she has ever done.
After trusting Jecka with her car, despite her starting to become tired hours before, she drives back onto the highway and drove as far as she can till she makes it into Oklahoma City, which from their perspective when everyone has woken up by the sun’s rays disturbing their eyes, they realize that they’ve made to the city in time to where the blonde was sleepy and drowsy throughout last night.
-yawns-
“Nmh.. That was a long amount of sleep, knowing I have to get up and take Megan’s spot on– Wait. Why is Jecka driving..?” Nicole says her wife tired out while keeping her driving the same.
“UghhhH! Morning..” Ari said, stretching her arms out in comfort.
“Hi and morning to you too.”
“Is Megan still driving..?”
“Apperently not, cause Jecka is taking over for her, while we were sleep..”
“Good morning, honey..” Jecka said to Nicole without looking behind her.
“Morning. If I may ask, are we in Oklahoma City?”
“Yes.. We are, We’ve been in the city for a few minutes to have me sleep my head off after Megan had me take her the wheel.”
Aww.. poor baby. I’m sorry you have to do that. You could’ve woken us up to take over if you were tired.”
“It’s ok, Nicole. Even though I talked to myself about what we can do when we get here. And strangefully, I think it might’ve came true.”
“What came true?”
“That we could see Mika at a random time during the day whenever we’ve woken up from our sleeping..”
“So you’re saying that she’s right around us, right now?”
-Jecka nodded slowly-
And as Nicole and Ari looked behind them, lord and behold of the brave introduction of Mika Saro, the girl that Jecka had on her mind constantly with Nicole always first, to seeing how she looked the first time in years as a new person, while having the old scars from their childhood still on her, walking from where they’re looking at in the car.
“That’s her??”
“Yeah.. It is! That’s her!” Jecka shouted, getting out of the car, waking Megan and Emily up from their seats to her noises.
“Come on!” Nicole said, telling Emily, Megan, and Ari out of the car to see her.
“What the fuck is happening?! I need to get my Xanax and shit!” Emily said, juggling her pills from her chest.
“We found her!”
“Who!?”
“Jecka’s best friend, Mika!”
“How did we even do that when we got here?” Megan asks, stretching her legs and arms out of the car.
“I don’t know, but ask Jecka how she found out about it when she woke up.”
“Mika! Is that really you?!” Jecka shouted, almost not realizing that Mika looked a lot more different compared to what she knew years back.
“Hm..? Do I know you?”
“It’s me, your best friend Jecka! Do you remember?”
“Not exactly on my mind right now, but I got to get to work.” Mika said, explaining that she’s a fully ledged office worker that made her look different from perspective.
“But wait! We came from New York to find you down here! I know that you’re the person that I know from our childhood.”
“Look lady, I don’t know what nonsense that you’re saying to me, but I’m late for work because if my boss finds out i’m late because I’m talking to random strangers, I’ma be fired.”
“O. Ok. I’m sorry. But I have one request for you.”
“What is it now?”
“Hey! Don’t be rude to my wife! She came all the way from our home to meet you because of you being her best friend that has been splitted up for years after she moved and you went to jail!”
“Ok.. It didn’t have to come to this.. But I’m in such a hurry to where I could knock you two out!”
“See! There’s the Mika I know!”
“I DON’T KNOW YOU!!”
“AHHH!”
“We gotta stop her!” Ari said.
“Right! STOPP!”
“Oh, y’all want some too?!” Mika shouted after punching her best friend and Nicole.
“Stop! Stop! That’s your best friend and her wife that you just punched!”
“Look! I don’t know you girls, but you’re making me want to kill y’all now!”
Listen! LISTEN! You may not know about us and why we’re messing with you, but we know about you thanks to Jecka’s memories that she kept with her after you were in jail and didn’t see her when she was trying to say goodbye when moving to Virginia!” Megan stands for the blonde.
“Wha..”
Now realizing what Mika has done, she finally knows that her gang side is starting to show after taking a couple of glances back and forth where it reminded her of the time when Jecka was in that same position after being affiliated with a different predicament that had her breaking down in tears in front of them, and just ran to work without saying a word, only to have them wonder if she’s ok.
“No.. No.. what have I done…”
“Nmh.. Nmh.. AHHH!” Mika shouted, taking her bag and starting running to work to not have her fired.
“Well that was a shot out of something..” Emily said.
“Are you guys ok?”
“Yeah.. That goes to show that her defensive side is showing, despite not knowing that she doesn't remember me at all..”
“I don’t think that was the correct answer she gave when looking back and forth between me and you.”
“Huh..? How would you know?”
“Cause after I told everything you said about her, with us going through many different trials or errors along the way we came down here, the look on her face means a lot from what she is now starting to remember.” Megan said.
“Damn! She didn’t have to hit me that fucking hard!”
“At least it was fun to watch–”
“Oh shut the fuck up, Emily! You didn’t do anything!”
“Besides from everything that transpired, I know that it’s not going to be the last time we would be seeing her.” Megan said, picking up a loose paper that Mika dropped.
-gasps- “Her old address.. It’s the one in Montana, but here!”
“Coincidence, maybe??”
“And right as she ran for her work, she whispered something about her coming back here for us.”
“Oh, Mika.. I’m sorry!” Jecka started crying her tears out for her best friend.
“It’s ok, honey.. It’s not your fault.. We’re all here for you.” Nicole said, showing her soft side to Jecka’s comfort towards her.
“Thank you, Nicole..”
“Anytime.”
“Ok, so are we just going to stand here or what are we gonna do?”
“Don’t ruin the moment right here!”
Agreeing to be back the same spot hours later, since Mika goes the same way back home to her apartment to have the girls meet her in the same place where they found her, just to have them figure out everything that Jecka has to say about Mika to have her remember, only realize that Mika already remember everything.
“That was a lot of fun being here!” Jecka shouted with the girls.
“You can say that, especially with these dresses that we paid for!”
-Mika humming her fav song-
“Mika is coming back! We gotta meet up with her before we lose her again!” Jecka said, running towards the spot.
“We made it, but she’s not here.” Ari said.
“There she is! Jecka shouted, which alarmed Mika to have her look up.
“Mika! I’m happy to see you–”
“Why are they still trying to talk to me? I don’t know you at all, Jecka. If that’s even your real name.” Mika said.
“But.. I remember you..”
“Oh? What is it that you remember about me, since I had a best friend that didn’t say goodbye to me?”
“Well, that person who didn’t say goodbye.. It was me. This is who I am right now years later.” Jecka said, holding Mika’s hands.
-gasps sharply- “Jecka…”
“Mika..”
“Oh my god!!!” Mika busted out crying in her arms, hugging the life out of Jecka that finally remembers everything by that one touch of her hands.
“It’s me, Mika! Oh my god!!”
-Mika sobbing loudly-
“Just let it all out, girl.. I’m right here..” Jecka said, hugging her tighter than she can ever grasp on.
“Aww.. this is so touching towards them finally reconciling with each other.” Megan said.
“And I'm here to experience that with her.”
“Let’s give them a hug, just so we don’t look like we’re just letting them hug by themselves.” Ari said.
“You’re right, Ari. Group hug!”
After giving the two besties a group hug from the rest of the girls as comfort and helping for Jecka and Mika, they have a lot to talk about for how many years they’ve been apart while knowing about why and how it happened with each other in the meanwhile, which had Mika taking them to their apartment to reconcile more and more about their friendship becoming more tighter and inseparable thanks to the girls helping her.
