Chapter Text

Unfortunately for Wemmbu, Arachnid had gone away. It was annoying that he already had the opportunity to kill him, Arachnid had miraculously survived the attack.

While Wemmbu was restocking his stuff to prepare and take off to find Arachnid, Yungy was staring at him quietly. Of course, Wemmbu notices what Yungy had been doing. It looked like Yungy wanted to say something to Wemmbu.

“Dude just say what you have to say bro. Stop staring at me.” Wemmbu had spoken with a very noticeable hint of annoyance in his tone.

“So.. What happens now? I mean.. Do I get to like.. To rule over the cave now?” Yungy asked him. Knowing Wemmbu there was some kind of catch to this. Yungy had helped Wemmbu free his friend. The young man wasn’t so sure about what Wemmbu’s intentions were at this moment.

“I mean like, what’s the point? You know what I mean? I like being the strongest but I don’t care about these people. Plus like, I wouldn’t even get to take over this when Arachnid is literally still out there. Meh, just take it. I still have business to settle.” He replied to the young man. The spider on the other hand was very much shocked as we all probably are.

“Well.. Thanks I guess I-” Before Yungy could even finish his sentence Wemmbu had nonchalantly flown away to Egg’s location. “Okay well fuck you then!!” Yungy exclaimed while crossing his arms in annoyance. Jaden just simply looked at him and thanked Yungy before also elytraying away.

“These guys are not tuff at all dude.” The spider said jokingly as he now looked over to the kingdom ahead of him. It was like a dream come true. The Cave civilization was now all his. Well he wasn’t so sure if Arachnid would come back but hopefully now that Wemmbu was still actively hunting him down he wouldn’t dare step in the cave.

Jaden and Wemmbu finally arrive at the house, or also Zam’s old house. Without wasting any more time, Wemmbu went to the room where Egg was supposed to be since the stasis would teleport him here. To his surprise, his best friend was gone.

“He’s gone.” Wemmbu said.

“What do you mean he’s gone, bu?” Jaden approached Wemmbu and he looked around the room. Wemmbu was right, no signs of Egg were anywhere.

“I’m sure he probably went to like your old base, you know? Let’s look around before you do something about it.” The older man had calmed down his friend. Although after a quick minute, Wemmbu calmed himself down and he wasted no time to look for his Angel best friend.

The two had gone everywhere.

Their base.

Capitol City.

Any nearby lakes.

The Cave Civilization.

No sign of Egg anywhere.

Wemmbu starts losing his mind once again.

“Jaden, I swear to God that stupid Spider asshole better not have Egg again or I’ll actually fucking-”

“Wemmbu! We will find Egg okay?! Calm down. We won’t find him if we panic. We can check the area to see if maybe he got lost or something. But I can assure you I don’t think he’s dead.” Jaden reassured Wemmbu. The dragon wanted so badly to believe his pirate friend but there was a feeling in his stomach that something was wrong.

“Fucking hell.. Fine. Let’s look. If I don’t see Egg I’m orbital striking this entire fucking server I swear to God.” Wemmbu rolled his eyes. Jaden knew Wemmbu would lose control if Egg was going to be captured again. He’d go feral if Egg dies.

Jaden convinced Wemmbu to not do anything stupid even if it was already annoying him looking for Egg like he was a kid lost in a grocery store except Egg ran off to the parking lot and Wemmbu being the mom.

The two had gone back to the tree house base of Wemmbu but instead of seeing Egg, they saw a book. Jaden took a look first but judging by his expression, Wemmbu knew it was bad news.

“Give it to me, Jaden.” Jaden complied and gave it to Wemmbu. Wemmbu took a look and saw coordinates. Even worse, it was signed by Arachnid himself.

It was silent for a while. It was obvious that Wemmbu was burning with rage inside. Jaden could sense it. The dragon had thought he had finally gotten his angel friend back, only for him to be captured once again.

“Let’s just get this over with. I don’t want to waste my time.” The younger said sternly. In Wemmbu’s mind was nothing but rage, the urge to kill and destroy everything. All he wanted was Egg back. Why couldn’t he be reunited with his best friend? Wemmbu had simply answered to himself that the universe was unfair and cruel. He couldn’t do anything about it.

Wemmbu and Jaden headed off to the coordinates after a brief restock. The coordinates were 200k blocks away from spawn. On the way to the location, Jaden had tried to somehow comfort Wemmbu with some small talk and reassurance that Egg was safe. It somehow kind of worked but Wemmbu was quiet the entire time.

Although he was quiet, Jaden saw a little bit of hope in Wemmbu’s eyes whenever he glanced at him. Despite always reassuring Wemmbu, He himself felt it was a little bit off about the entire situation. There had to be some kind of catch. Why would Arachnid want the both of them to go to these coordinates? It wasn’t going to end well.

Arriving at the coordinates, Arachnid was over at the edge of a mountain. It was the perfect height to kill someone by pushing them off. Wemmbu was about to attack Arachnid until the man spoke.

“Surprising that you came all the way here, Wemmbu.” He said.

“Where are you keeping Egg again?!” Wemmbu barked at Arachnid.

The older spider was quiet once again. Wemmbu had thought he was just simply being ignored so he got ready to mace Arachnid.

Until..

An Invisible player had maced him instead.

All of the attention had suddenly shifted to the Invisible person who was macing them. Wemmbu told Jaden to fight the invisible player because he had planned to attack Arachnid. The purple blob looked around expecting the spider to still be there. But he was nowhere to be found. Arachnid had escaped once again, so with no choice, Wemmbu attacked the Invisible player.

It wasn’t so hard to fight this invisible player. When they started running away, both of them knew this invis person was low.

The invisible player had run east from the mountain and there was Arachnid, But Wemmbu’s priority was to kill this Invisible player first.

He would regret doing that.

Wemmbu flew up, getting ready to mace the invisible person.

Jaden had popped his totem..

But underneath the invisible player was no other than Egg.

It was too late for Wemmbu.

Before the Purple blob could react and get rid of the mace.

He had already maced his own best friend.

“Eggchan was smashed by Wemmbu using (Gambit)”

Arachnid watched the scene unfold. All he did was laugh at Wemmbu’s face.

“Well well well. Look at this? Wemmbu banning his own best friend is one hell of a view. I’m quite enjoying the front seat view of this.” He mocked Wemmbu.

Jaden was shocked with the outcome of this fight. He did not expect Egg to be the invisible person that attacked them.

Wemmbu was shaken.

He killed his own best friend accidentally. He just killed his own best friend.

Wemmbu recalled all of the times he had failed people. Maybe he was really just a lost cause.

Jaden tried to comfort him but it wasn’t working.

“Jaden. Shut up.” Wemmbu simply said before equipping his elytra and attacking Arachnid. The pirate felt bad for his friend. It was heart breaking to see Wemmbu this miserable. He shut his mouth and he aided Wemmbu in the fight.

Arachnid was satisfied with the outcome. He kept mocking Wemmbu as they fought. Every second, Wemmbu felt the urge to kill this man and destroy everything.

“Who would’ve thought? The famous Wemmbu who has a very dear friend called Eggchan, would kill his own best friend? I wonder what Egg would think of you?” He mocked Wemmbu. At this point, Arachnid did not care about dying. Just the satisfaction of seeing Wemmbu mad.

“SHUT UP!!”

Wemmbu's voice echoed across the mountain.

Arachnid stopped moving.

For a moment, there was complete silence.

Jaden looked toward Wemmbu.

Something was wrong.

The purple blob stood completely still, his mace tightly gripped in his hand. His breathing had become uneven as he stared directly at Arachnid.

Arachnid, however...

Smiled.

There it was.

The exact reaction he had been waiting for.

“Finally,” Arachnid muttered.

Wemmbu's head snapped toward him.

“What?”

Arachnid chuckled.

“You really don't get it, do you?”

Jaden immediately became suspicious.

“Wemmbu, don't listen to him.”

“Oh, I think he should,” Arachnid replied.

Wemmbu didn't move.

Arachnid slowly stepped backward.

“You think this was about killing Egg?”

Wemmbu's grip tightened.

“Shut up.”

Arachnid ignored him.

“You think I brought you all the way out here because I wanted to fight you?”

“Shut up.”

Arachnid laughed.

“No. I knew I probably couldn't beat both you and Jaden.”

Jaden's expression changed.

Arachnid continued.

“But I don't need to.”

Wemmbu stared at him.

“What the fuck are you talking about?”

Arachnid looked toward the mountain below them.

“I know you, Wemmbu.”

That made Wemmbu stop.

“You're predictable.”

“Don't.”

“You lose someone, and you panic.”

Wemmbu's expression darkened.

“You feel helpless, and you get angry.”

“Stop talking.”

“And when you get angry—”

Arachnid smiled.

“You stop thinking.”

Wemmbu suddenly charged toward him.

Jaden immediately grabbed his arm.

“Wemmbu!”

“LET GO OF ME!”

“Don't let him get into your head!”

Arachnid laughed.

Jaden looked at him with disgust.

“You planned this.”

Arachnid shrugged.

“Of course I did.”

Wemmbu stopped struggling for a moment.

“What?”

“I knew you would come after me.”

Arachnid continued.

“I knew you would bring Jaden.”

His eyes moved toward the pirate.

“And most importantly...”

Arachnid looked back at Wemmbu.

“I knew exactly what would happen if Egg suddenly disappeared.”

Wemmbu slowly looked toward the ground.

Arachnid's smile grew.

“You would panic.”

Silence.

“You would search everywhere.”

Wemmbu's breathing became heavier.

“And when you found my coordinates?”

Arachnid chuckled.

“You'd come running.”

Jaden slowly stepped in front of Wemmbu.

“You're fucking insane.”

Arachnid laughed.

“Maybe.”

He looked around at the destroyed landscape.

“But look at him.”

Wemmbu wasn't looking at Arachnid anymore.

He was staring into the distance.

The death message replayed in his mind.

Eggchan was smashed by Wemmbu using Gambit.

Again.

And again.

And again.

Arachnid noticed.

“You know what the best part was?”

“Don't,” Jaden warned.

Arachnid smiled.

“I didn't even have to kill Egg.”

Wemmbu froze.

“You did it for me.”

“ARAchnid.”

Jaden's voice was sharp.

“Shut the fuck up.”

Arachnid continued.

“I just gave you the mace.”

Wemmbu slowly looked down at Gambit.

“I gave you someone to chase.”

His hands began shaking.

“And you did the rest.”

“SHUT UP.”

Wemmbu's voice was quiet.

Arachnid grinned.

“You killed your best friend.”

“Shut up.”

“You finally got Egg back—”

“Shut up.”

“And then you killed him.”

“SHUT UP!”

Arachnid laughed.

Jaden immediately stepped toward him.

But Arachnid didn't care.

This was what he wanted.

He wasn't trying to win the fight.

He had already won.

Wemmbu suddenly turned around.

Jaden blinked.

“...Wemmbu?”

The purple blob wasn't looking at Arachnid anymore.

He was looking toward the sky.

Jaden felt his stomach drop.

“Wemmbu.”

Wemmbu opened his inventory.

Arachnid stopped laughing.

Jaden watched as Wemmbu began pulling items out.

“Wemmbu, what are you doing?”

No response.

Another item.

Then another.

Jaden recognized them.

His eyes widened.

“Wemmbu.”

Wemmbu continued.

“Don't.”

Jaden slowly approached him.

“Put those away.”

Wemmbu equipped his elytra.

Arachnid's smile slowly returned.

“Oh?”

Jaden grabbed Wemmbu's shoulder.

“Wemmbu, listen to me.”

“Move.”

“No.”

Wemmbu looked at him.

For the first time, Jaden could see just how far gone he was.

There was nothing but anger in his eyes.

And underneath it—

Grief.

“Jaden.”

“I'm not moving.”

“Move.”

“No.”

Wemmbu pushed past him.

Jaden immediately followed.

“Wemmbu, don't do this.”

Wemmbu took off.

Jaden flew after him.

Arachnid stood on the mountain, watching them disappear into the distance.

He quietly smiled.

“Right on schedule.”

Wemmbu landed at a nearby mountain to stock up.

Jaden landed beside him.

“Okay. Stop.”

Wemmbu ignored him.

“Wemmbu!”

The younger man opened an ender chest, getting multiple shulker boxes.

Then another.

And another.

Jaden followed him inside.

“What are you looking for?”

No answer.

Jaden stopped.

His heart sank.

Several orbital strike cannons were stored inside.

Jaden stared at them.

“...Oh no.”

“Wemmbu.”

He began preparing it.

“Wemmbu, stop.”

No response.

Jaden's voice became more desperate.

“WEMMBU.”

“What?!”

Wemmbu finally turned around.

Jaden flinched slightly.

“Don't do this.”

Wemmbu stared at him.

“Why not?”

Jaden didn't immediately answer.

Wemmbu laughed bitterly.

“Seriously, Jaden. Why shouldn't I?”

“Because you're angry.”

“Yeah.”

“You're not thinking clearly.”

“Yeah.”

“That's exactly why you shouldn't be touching those things right now.”

Wemmbu looked at the orbital strike cannons in his shulker and his inventory.

“Egg is dead.”

Jaden went silent. Wemmbu's voice cracked slightly.

“Egg is fucking dead, Jaden.”

“I know.”

“And Arachnid is still out there.”

“I know.”

“He gets to just run away.”

“Wemmbu—”

“He gets to laugh.”

Wemmbu turned toward Jaden.

“He gets to sit somewhere and laugh about what happened.”

Jaden didn't respond.

“So I'm going to make sure he doesn't have anywhere left to run.”

Jaden stepped in and mined the shulker filled with orbitals.

“No.”

Wemmbu stared at him.

“Give it back.”

“No.”

“Jaden.”

“I said no.”

Wemmbu walked closer. Jaden didn't move.

“GIVE IT BACK JADEN!”

“I'm not letting you destroy the entire server.”

“I DON'T CARE ABOUT THE SERVER!”

Wemmbu yelled. His voice echoed through the mountain

“I don't care about the Cave! I don't care about Capitol City! I don't care about anyone!”

Jaden stared at him.

“I lost Egg.”

Wemmbu's voice became quieter.

“And you're asking me to care about a bunch of morons?”

Jaden's expression softened.

“No.”

“Then move.”

“But Egg wouldn't want this.”

Everything stopped. Wemmbu stared at him.

“Don't.”

Jaden immediately regretted saying it, but he continued.

“Egg wouldn't want you to destroy everything because you're hurting.”

“Don't talk about him.”

“Wemmbu—”

“DON'T FUCKING TALK ABOUT HIM!”

Jaden remained still. Wemmbu turned around and grabbed one of the cannons.

Jaden quickly stepped forward.

“Wemmbu!”

“Get off me!”

Jaden grabbed the other end. The two began pulling against each other.

“Let go!”

“No!”

“JADEN!”

“You're proving Arachnid right!”

That made Wemmbu stop. Jaden's breathing was heavy.

“Arachnid wanted this.”

Wemmbu stared at him.

“He wanted you to lose control.”

“He knew exactly what would happen.”

Wemmbu looked toward the ground.

Jaden continued.

“He knew Egg was the one person you couldn't lose.”

Silence.

“And now you're doing exactly what he wanted.”

Wemmbu's eyes slowly moved toward the orbital strike cannon.

His hands trembled.

Then—

He laughed.

Jaden looked confused.

“...What?”

Wemmbu looked up.

“You're right.”

Jaden sighed in relief.

“Okay. Good.”

Jaden relaxed.

For a brief moment, he thought he had actually gotten through to him.

Then Wemmbu opened another shulker box.

Jaden's face dropped.

“Wemmbu?”

The pirate checked the shulker box.

Inside were even more supplies.

More Tnt, More redstone.

More equipment.

Jaden stared.

“Dude.”

“I'm not going to destroy the entire server.”

Jaden sighed.

“Okay.”

Wemmbu looked at him.

“I'm going to destroy every place Arachnid could possibly be hiding.”

Jaden's eyes widened.

“That's not better!”

Wemmbu equipped his elytra.

Jaden immediately ran toward him.

“Wemmbu, wait!”

Wemmbu took off, Jaden quickly followed. The two flew high into the sky. Wemmbu headed toward an open area.

He landed. Jaden landed beside him.

“Wemmbu, please.”

Wemmbu ignored him. The purple blob focused on placing down tnt.

Jaden watched in horror.

“Don't activate it.”

Wemmbu began preparing another one.

“Wemmbu.”

Another chunk of tnt.

Then another.

Jaden's voice became quieter.

“Please.”

Wemmbu stopped. For a moment, Jaden thought he was listening, but then Wemmbu spoke.

“He wanted me to lose.”

Wemmbu continued.

“Not the fight.”

His hand moved towards the flint and steel in his inventory

“Everything.”

Jaden immediately stepped forward.

“Then don't give him that.”

Wemmbu stopped.

Jaden's voice shook.

“You think destroying everything is going to make this better?”

No response.

“You think Egg is going to come back?”

Wemmbu's hand tightened.

“You think killing Arachnid is going to make you forget what happened?”

“Stop.”

“Or are you just trying to destroy everything because you don't know what else to do?”

“Jaden.”

“I know you're hurting!”

“STOP!”

Jaden went silent.

Wemmbu's voice cracked.

“I don't know what else to do.”

That was the first honest thing he had said.

Jaden stared at him.

Wemmbu looked down.

“I don't know what I'm supposed to do.”

His hands slowly dropped.

“I finally found him.”

His voice became quieter.

“And then I—”

He couldn't finish.

Jaden slowly walked closer.

“You made a mistake.”

Wemmbu shook his head.

“I killed him.”

“You didn't know it was him.”

“But I still did it.”

“I know.”

Wemmbu looked at Jaden.

“I don't know how to fix it.”

Jaden looked toward the huge chunk of Tnt Wemmbu had placed, then back at Wemmbu.

“You can't.”

Wemmbu went silent.

“You can't fix what happened by destroying everything else.”

For several seconds, Wemmbu didn't move.

Then…

A loud explosion echoed in the distance.

Both of them turned around.

Far away, high on another mountain, a small figure stood.

Arachnid.

He had been watching them.

The spider waved.

Then disappeared behind the mountain.

Wemmbu's expression immediately changed.

Jaden saw it.

“Wemmbu.”

Arachnid had known.

He had known exactly what Wemmbu would do.

The coordinates.

Egg.

The invisible player.

The mace.

The death.

Everything.

Arachnid hadn't simply wanted Egg dead.

He wanted Wemmbu broken.

He wanted to watch him destroy himself.

Wemmbu slowly looked back at the cannons.

Jaden grabbed his arm.

“Don't.”

Wemmbu looked at him.

Jaden shook his head.

“Don't let him win.”

Wemmbu stared at the cannons.

Then at Arachnid's direction.

His hand slowly moved away from the controls.

For now.

Jaden sighed in relief.

But Wemmbu's eyes never left the mountain.

Arachnid had escaped again.

And somewhere out there, the spider was probably laughing.

Wemmbu's expression hardened.

“Fine.”

Jaden looked at him.

“What?”

Wemmbu picked up Gambit.

“We do this his way.”

Wemmbu equipped his elytra.

“It means I'm going to find him.”

He looked toward the horizon.

“But I'm not going to give him what he wants.”

Jaden watched him.

Wemmbu activated a firework.

“And when I find Arachnid...”

He paused.

Jaden waited.

Wemmbu's expression remained cold.

“He's going to regret making me his enemy.”

With that, Wemmbu launched into the sky.

Jaden stood there for a moment, then toward Wemmbu.

“...I really hope that's true.”

He quickly equipped his elytra and flew after him.

Notes:

Please don't slime me out..

I hope you enjoyed it! ^^

Notes:

I hope you enjoyed the first chapter! I'll still update on my Sharplow one but Im working on this one first for a birthday present.

Some stuff have been altered for the sake of the plot like if you noticed the totem is similar to the Totem of Null because that was the reference and I needed a way for Arachnid to still be alive. If you notice alot of references to Spoke's video on my other chatpers, I just really love Spoke hes my fav lol

This Chapter is basically kinda like a filler before I get into my fic so I added this to explain some stuff and blah blah blah smthng like that (I was never really good with endings.)
