Chapter Text

"So, six months, huh?" Yoko repeated as she adjusted her slippery sunglasses. "Half a year, I admit, Enid, you're lasting longer than usual."

"Oh, shut it," Enid shushed her while pinching one of her cheeks, "I'm so happy to be with her. Wednesday is amazing, and she hasn't even gone one day without smothering me with gifts," she sighed dreamily, "I wonder what she'll do for our six–month anniversary."

"Have you hit third base yet?"

Enid furrowed her brows. "Define third base."

"Well, first base is hugging, second is kissing, and third," and Yoko hadn't even finished, yet Enid's cheeks were already red, "I'll leave it to you the rest."

"I, well, we're taking it slow, and I'm totally fine with that," she stated proudly, purring with excitement.

"With a libido like yours, I'm sure it's hard."

"Yoko!" Enid rushed to put both of her hands on her shoulders. "Don't say anything else."

The girl laughed as she watched her friend squirm. But suddenly, Wednesday appeared out of nowhere yet again. Her eyes darted to Enid. "Be back at the dorm by 8," her voice sharp, leaving Enid with not much time to reply as she walked away,

Yoko could see how much more red Enid's cheeks had gotten. "So, are you going to hit third base tonight?"

"Oh my gosh, Yoko, please shut up!"

But her pleas meant nothing as her friend let out another long, annoying laugh.

୨ৎ ˖.

8 PM. Enid stood behind their dorm room for at least ten minutes. No, wait, how much time had passed? She didn't know; her mind wandered to everything and anything, from probable situations to impossible ones,

Were she and Wednesday really about to do what Yoko had been teasing her about?

No, of course not. Enid slapped her cheeks lightly. Wednesday hadn't even kissed her on the lips yet! Well, not that there had been some attempts, but every time they almost kissed, something came in the way: a sudden clue, a sudden investigation, a sudden vision, or sudden stalkers.

Whatever, Enid thought, she could've handled it. So, she opened the door and stepped inside,

It was dark, and it certainly didn't help that it was night. Until, suddenly, the lights switched on (could it be Thing's doing?) and there Wednesday was, sitting on a chair with her cello in her hands.

Their eyes met. Wednesday attempted a smile, and then she began playing. Her fingers moved as elegantly as always, as the melody started forming. Enid's heart leapt inside her chest, realizing what Wednesday was playing,

Can't Help Falling in Love, on a cello, her cello.

The notes got softer, Wednesday's cheeks got rosier, and Enid took a few steps closer. Her hands were clasped together as her smile kept growing,

And then the song ended. Wednesday looked up; she, too, still had a tender color on her skin. "Happy anniversary," were the first words, spoken so softly. "It was challenging to learn the song with your constant presence, but it was not an insurmountable task."

She let her bow down. "I hope you found it to your liking. It was more of a quest to find the appropriate song," her eyes lingered on Thing, "I was rather fortunate to have additional assistance."

Enid turned around to look at Thing, as he gestured 'Happy Anniversary' with his fingers.

And Enid couldn't stop smiling and moving excitedly. She closed the distance between her and Wednesday as she knelt to meet her height. She looked right into her eyes, so deep, so lovingly, as her hands went to the collar of her shirt, grabbing it and pulling her in for a kiss,

Their lips clashed in a messy, hurried way. Enid clanked her teeth with hers, as clumsy as she was, but Wednesday didn't seem to mind. The heat soon spread to both of her cheeks, and surprisingly, Wednesday cupped Enid's cheeks, deepening the kiss, softly sighing into her mouth. Her thumbs gently stroking her skin,

Enid was the first to pull away. Her eyes were shining, her smile still wide, and Wednesday seemed lost, happy, confused, and excited.

"Not bad, Addams," she teased, "You really made me wait."

Wednesday's hand rushed to her lips, still wet and trembling. "Again."

Enid shook her head. "Huh?"

But without further talking, Wednesday was now the one taking Enid's shirt collar, as their lips united once more. The kisses grew, as did the sighs and requests,

Thing couldn't do much but crawl towards the door and get out of there. At least he knew they so desperately needed that long–awaited moment to themselves.
