Nobodys pov
It was Hyunjin’s birthday and she was up at the crack of dawn. She had gone to the toilet and gotten some water and was now back in her room,
waiting.
Hyunjin heard a knock on her bedroom door,
“Who is it?” “It’s me!” Yeji opened the door and came in.
“Happy birthday!” She whisper-yelled, holding a small present, “Thanks” Hyunjin smiled as she sat up.
“I heard your little feet run up and down the hallway” Yeji giggled “Here you go” She handed over the present, gesturing for Hyunjin to move over so she could sit on the bed too.
Hyunjin undid the wrapping trying to save the paper. Her eyes lit up. It was the set of oil pastels she had been wanting for a long time.
“Oh my gosh thank you thank you thank you!!” Hyunjin hugged Yeji tightly, “Your welcome,” She smiled.
Yeji and Hyunjin talked for a while till they heard someone knock on the door, “Yes?” The door opened and Chan walked in.
“Happy birthday!” He said “There are pancakes down stairs”, Hyunjin jumped up “Yay!” She hugged Chan “Thank you”. Hyunjin left the room and skipped down the hallway to the stairs.
“She’s so silly” Yeji laughed as she got up, “Yea” Chan picked up Hyunjin’s discarded wrapping paper. They both headed out of the room and down stairs to the kitchen.
“Good morning Yej” Their dad said, he was at the stove making said pancakes. “Morning dad”. She went over to the sink and got herself a glass of water.
Hyunjin sat at the table smiling widely, She looked over at Chan and patted the seat next to her, “wanna play a card game?” she asked, “Sure,” Chan sat down. Hyunjin got up and ran over to the games cabinet, picking out UNO. She sat back down and dealt the cards, “can I play?” Yeji asked, sitting down across from them. “yea”.
The three siblings played 2 rounds of UNO Yeji winning one and Chan the other, Hyunjin losing both horribly.
Hyunjin groaned “One more round?” She pleaded “I really wanna win”. “Nope sorry” Her mum said, walking over to the table, she placed some plates down. “it’s breakfast time”.
Hyunjin reluctantly tidied up the game and put it away as the family of 5 sat down. “Thank you for the pancakes” Hyunjin said to her dad as she grabbed one. “No worries kiddo” He smiled.
We can trust you three enough to go to grandmas for the night?” Their mum questioned, “yep” Yeji said “we did it last year, we can do it again”. Chan nodded “And Seungmin’s coming over to help, so don’t worry, we’ll be fine”.
The rest of the day leading up to the party was slow. Hyunjin opened the rest of her presents from her family after breakfast.
From Chan she got a pair of binoculars and a book about bird watching, he said he really didn’t know what to get her and he knew she liked birds, Hyunjin said it was an old man's present but she liked it anyway.
From her Parents she got a colouring book of different famous landscape paintings and a watch which she put on right away.
After that she did the breakfast dishes and blasted her favorite music from her speaker. Then she and her family went for a walk around the neighborhood. She talked to Yeji and Chan about all the things she could do now that she was 16.
At 1 o'clock her parents left to go to her mum's parents for 2 nights. It took a while to get them out the door but they left in the end.
“Ok” Yeji said, closing the front door and turning around to face her siblings, “Guests are arriving at 5:30 so let’s clean and get everything set up!” “Ok” Hyunjin smiled “Can we put music on please?” “Sure!” Yeji said.
The three of them mopped the kitchen and bathroom floor, did all the dishes and cleared the benches, Chan cleaned the toilet, Yeji did the rubbish, and Hyunjin, reluctantly, did the compost.
The twins then vacuumed their and Hyunjin's bedrooms, while Hyunjin did the living room. They tidied up the miscellaneous things lying around the house and lastly put all the dirty washing in the washing machine and turned it on.
At last they all collapsed on the couches in the living room. Hyunjin checked her watch, “it’s quarter past 3,” “Lets have afternoon tea and then set up” Chan said getting up off the couch.
“Okey-dokey” Hyunjin got up and headed to the kitchen with Chan. Yeji stayed on the couch giggling while texting someone on her phone.
“Who do you think Yeji is texting?” Chan asked as he got the cucumber and Cheese out of the fridge. “I don’t know…” Hyunjin grabbed a plate and a chopping board. “Does she have a crush?” Chan asked. “Not that I know of”.
Hyunjin and Chan walked back into the living room “Afternoon tea is readyyyy” Hyunjin sung as she put the plate of cheese and crackers down on the floor. Chan laughed and put down the plate with cucumber. “Thanks” Yeji said smiling at her siblings, she then looked back down at her phone and kept texting.
Hyunjin and Chan sat down across from her leaning on the couch, they looked at each other, then back at Yeji, Hyunjin nodded. “Who ya texting?” Chan asked his twin, Hyunjin stuffed a cracker and cheese in her mouth. “No one” Yeji waved it off without looking up from her phone.
After they finished Chan took the two plates and washed them,Yeji finished texting and Hyunjin checked her phone.
“So what do we need to do?” Chan asked, walking back into the room, both girls put their phones down.
“Well, we need a bed” Hyunjin started “there is 8 of us counting you guys and Seungmin so we need mum and dad’s mattress as well as all of ours but that will only be enough for me and my friends-” Yeji cut in “We need the mattress from the spare room too,” Chan nodded.
They hauled the mattresses down from the bedroom's stairs and laid them out on the floor of the very large living room. They put sheets on all of them and pushed them together to make one large mattress.
3 double mattresses from Chan's room, their Parents room and the guest bedroom, and 2 singles from Yeji and Hyunjin’s rooms.
They gathered all the pillows in the house and placed them down on the gigantic bed. Blankets next. At 4 o'clock, Chan sighed and they all headed to the kitchen to get water.
Food next. They dug through the kitchen to find multiple big bowls that could be used for popcorn, chips and things or the sort. grabbed small bowls for lollies and plates for fruit. Then they got all the food out, putting each in their respective bowl and then placing them on the table. Hyunjin reached for a gummy worm, Yeji slapped her hand away, Chan sighed, again.
Then finally 5 o’clock rolled around. Hyunjin got out a game of snap, they sat on the giant bed and waited.
Seungmin arrived first apologising about the fact she couldn't come earlier to help set up since she had guitar and vocal lessons at that time. “Don't worry” Chan said “you can stay for the clean up”, Seungmin chuckled.
Chareyeong arrived next, Lia Next. Yuna Burst through the door seconds after. And last but not least Jeongin arrived, smiling widely.
Hyunjin and her group of friends hung out, talking, eating snacks and playing random board games. Yeji, Seungmin, and Chan supervised while also hanging out.
At some point Yeji went up to her room for some much needed quiet time and the Seungchan couple went out for a walk.
Hyunjin grabbed the lollie bowl and sat down on the couch, joining her friends as they chatted about the kinds of things teens talk about.
The Seungchan couple got back and made the pizza order - 1 large cheese, 1 medium veg, 1 medium hawaiian and a gluten free for Yeji since she’s gluten intolerant.
The Pizza arrived and they all sat down at the kitchen table, Hyunjin and her friends sat on chairs while Yeji, Chan and Seungmin sat on stools they brought in from the laundry.
After dinner everyone settled down for some chill time as people kinda needed a rest.
Yeji got the ice cream out and the socialising began again.
At around 8 everyone got into pjs and sat together on the bed.
“What should we do?” Jeongin asked, “wanna play a game?” Lia suggested. Everyone nodded in response.
They all agreed on ‘Never have I ever’ as a starter.
“I’ll say first!” Yuna stood up, “Ok ok, chill man” Chareyeong said.
“Never have I ever…Gotten drunk” Yuna crossed her arms and looked around smugly, “Go on, own up”.
Yeji, Chan, and Seungmin put their hands up, Lia did too.
“You’re how old?” Jeongin asked concerned, “Hey hey you only live once” Lia shrugged.
“Never have I ever” Yuna went for it again “Had a crush on my siblings partner”.
Chaeryeong put her hand up, giggling she said “I’ll admit I thought Felix was kinda cute at first”.
Jeongin and Yeji both looked at Hyunjin, who was slowly turning red. Defeated, she put her hand up, “Who!?” Chan asked, concerned.
“I thought Yeji’s exgirlfriend-Winter, she was nice and very pretty” Hyunjin avoided Seungmin’s gaze.
Yeji gasped “Really! news to me”.
The game continued for a couple more rounds before Yeji suggested spin the bottle, everyone agreed.
Hyunjin got up and went to find a bottle they could use and everyone else got into a circle. She found an old washed out soy sauce bottle and ran back into the room. Jeongin patted the space next to him for her to sit.
Hyunjin put the bottle down, “Should I go first?” she asked, getting comfortable. “Sure”, smiled Yeji.
Hyunjin spun the bottle it ladded on Jeongin. They both sighed “ok lets get it over with” Jeongin said. They kissed. And that was pretty much it. “You have lolly breath” Hyunjin said, Jeongin stuck his tongue out at her.
Over the rest of the game Yeji and Chareyeong, Lia and Yuna, Seungmin and Hyunjin, and Chan and Jeongin, as well as others, kissed.
Hyunjin and Jeongin volunteered to do the dishes together, so they could talk.
“Oh my gosh” Hyunjin squealed “I actually can’t believe what just happened.
Jeongin laughed “same! Best. Moment. Of. My. Life!”, he twirled around.
