February 3, 2024
Rain sighed as he slowly lowered himself onto the chair. Sky chuckled beside him.
“Shush. My hips hurt today.” Rain said pouting.
“I promise I’m not laughing at you, it’s in solidarity. I remember that feeling all too well.” Sky said, patting Rain’s arm.
Rain nodded and let himself be comforted. “So who are we meeting today? And do I really have to do all this while I’m a planet?”
“You are beautiful, Rain. And yes, you keep complaining about being bored when you’re sitting to rest, getting back on track with your tutoring will help keep your mind active. I know these guys, they were my friends in university. I trust them, and I think you’ll really like them. They have different specialties so you can cover more ground. Plus, you finally get to meet P’Som’s sister.”
Rain perked up. “Really? He talks about her a lot, he always sounds really proud of her. If you trust them, then I think I’ll be ok.”
Rain purred when he felt a sudden kiss on the top of his head and his Alpha’s scent surrounded him.
“How are you feeling, darling?” Phayu asked.
“My hips hurt.”
“We can take a hot bath later, ok? The water is good to relieve the pain in your joints. You ready to meet your new teachers though? They’re waiting.”
Rain nodded. “Yes and yes. Can I have ice cream in the bath?”
Phayu laughed softly before he pressed a soft kiss against Rain’s lips. “Anything you want, sweet boy. I’ll be in my home office, just call out for me if you need anything.” Phayu said before he walked down the hallway.
Rain waied as his new tutors walked in. They all gave him kind smiles as they returned the gesture before sitting across from him.
“We’re very happy to finally meet you.” The only girl said.
“I am too. P’Som talks about you.”
The girl smiled. “Yeah, he does that, hopefully it wasn’t too annoying, I’m Ple. This is Sig,” she said, gesturing to a Beta beside her. “And this is Por.” She pointed at the Alpha on the other side of Sig.
“Thank you guys for making time in your schedules to help me.” Rain said, looking each of them in the eyes.
“It’s no problem, between Sky and P’Phayu asking us if we could help, we knew it was important.” Sig said.
“Do you all know why I need tutors?” Rain asked quietly, running his hands over his swollen belly.
“A bit. Most of the pack has the basics, but only those closest to you have the specifics.” Por answered.
“The traffickers didn’t teach us stuff like that, just the best ways to serve whoever bought us. So cooking and cleaning, childcare, bedroom things. Servant education, not practical. I mean, now that I have my mate, that stuff will still be useful, especially with our pup on the way, but I don’t want to only know that stuff.”
Sky grabbed Rain’s hand and squeezed. “He did really well with me, but you guys were studying to teach high school level stuff. He quickly made his way through the six levels that I was qualified to teach, so I think he’ll do just as well with you guys.”
Ple smiled at him. “I’m sure he will. As long as someone is eager to learn, it’ll go a lot smoother. So, Rain, I’ll be teaching you history and literature, Sig will cover sciences, and Por has maths. We’ll work together on a few other things that will be a bit more for fun, like music or art. And of course, as we all have the base knowledge, any of us can help you study or answer any questions. Does that sound ok?”
Rain nodded. “Yeah, that sounds perfect. As long as I’m allowed to have frequent pee breaks, I’m good with the plan.”
The others laughed. “That’s the good thing about learning at home. It’s your pace. In an actual high school classroom, the teachers wouldn’t let you go, you have to manage to hit the restrooms between classes.” Por said.
“Even if an Omega in school were to get pregnant? They don’t accommodate even a little?” Rain asked, shocked.
“When that happens, though it’s not common, the parents usually pull them out and work with the school to do the class work virtually and with tutors.” Sig answered. “It’s not a punishment, in case you think it sounds like one, it is to make sure they don’t disrupt the class by needing to rush out to be sick or go to the bathroom. It ensures the quality of everyone’s education.”
Rain nodded. “I’m sure there’s still places that get judgemental, but it’s good that schools do make the effort. So are we actually starting today?”
“We can show you the syllabus we have, and it’s very flexible. We just need to know the date for your C section so we can leave the following month cleared for you and P’Phayu to adjust and get into a routine with the pup. But if you’re itching to start, we can give you the starting lessons and worksheets.” Ple said.
“Might as well. I’m fat and walking isn’t that easy anymore, but I don’t like staring at a screen all day, so as much as I hate to agree, it’ll be good for me.”
“Don’t make me go get P’Phayu and tell him you’re calling yourself fat.” Sky threatened.
“No! Don’t do that!” Rain whispered to his best friend. “And I don’t mean it in a bad way, I just feel so big. And clumsy. I can’t even put socks on by myself anymore.” Rain pouted.
“Yeah, I don’t miss that part, but you love P’Phayu doting on you. And take it from me, you’re probably going to miss the baby bump once it’s gone. Yes, I’d rather have my boys in my arms, but I did miss my belly for the first few months.”
Rain nodded and leaned his head on Sky’s shoulder. “My surgery is scheduled for April 6.” He said to his tutors.
“We’ll make sure we plan around that date.” Ple said, writing in the planner she’d brought. “Let’s get started on the basics.

February 20, 2024
Rain huffed and slowly rolled over to look at his sleeping Alpha. He gently poked Phayu’s cheek and got a small sigh. He then poked Phayu’s shoulder a bit harder.
“Phi?”
Phayu grumbled for a second. “Rain? Are you ok?” He asked as he sat up.
“I feel weird.”
Phayu clicked the bedside lamp on and helped Rain sit up. “Weird how?”
“I don’t know. The pup hasn’t moved in a long time, and I haven’t been able to sleep because I’ve been worrying.”
“Baby, how come you didn’t say anything before we went to bed?”
“Doctor Viv said that could happen sometimes, that the pup needs to rest from how much she moves, but this feels different than the other times she’s been calm. I can still feel flutters when that happens, but this is just stillness. Would Doctor Viv make a house call at this hour, or do we have to go to the clinic?”
Phayu rubbed Rain’s back, pushing his scent out to help sooth Rain’s nerves. “I’ll call the clinic’s twenty-four hour line and see what they say. Just breathe, ok?”
Rain nodded and watched the Alpha quickly dial the number and place the call on speaker phone.
“Thank you for calling, how may I direct you?”
“Hello, is Doctor Viv available for a house call tonight? My mate is concerned about our pup.”
“She is on call, let me send you to her line and you can discuss with her.”
“Thank you.” Phayu said.
The line played a soothing classical piece for a moment before a new voice spoke.
“This is Doctor Viv, who’s calling?”
“Phayu and Rain.”
“Alright, what’s going on? The secretary said you may want a house call.”
Phayu looked at Rain, so the Omega began to talk. “Hi, uh, I’m just really worried since I haven’t felt the pup move in about seven hours. Not even the normal rest flutters. Should we come to the clinic or is it something you could check here at the house?”
“I’d say come in. I can do a more thorough ultrasound and we can run some quick labs.”
Rain whimpered. “So this could be bad?”
“Don’t go to the worst case scenario. Have you been doing things that have caused new stress?”
“No, I just resumed my studies. I mostly sit in bed with one of my tutors in a chair nearby to go over the stuff I’m learning and then I do my schoolwork on a lap desk. It’s not stressing me out, I’m enjoying it.”
“Well, if you’re not feeling stressed, then there are a few other things we’ll need to check on. Come on in, I’ll make sure the front desk knows you’re on your way.”
“We’re on our way.” Phayu said before hanging up. “Do you want to just wear your sleep shirt and put on a pair of my sweat pants?”
Rain nodded. “P’Phayu, I’m scared. What if something is wrong?”
“Then we’ll figure it out. Let’s just get ready and go see what Doctor Viv says.”
Rain carefully moved from the bed and found sweat pants, Phayu followed after a moment, simply pulling a hoodie over his tank top. He grabbed his car keys, and held out his hand, gently pulling Rain out to the car.

“Alright Rain, I can see the problem, and it’s not too concerning.” Doctor Viv said as she put the ultrasound wand away before holding the tissue box out to Rain.
“What’s going on?” He asked quietly.
“Your amniotic fluid is a bit low, and that can affect the pup’s movements. You just need to keep yourself well hydrated and keep resting the way you have been.”
“So drinking more water will fix it?” Rain asked.
“It won’t make you have more fluid necessarily, but it’s the main treatment. It’s really not as low as it could be. I’m comfortable saying that our planned surgery date is still a safe date. But we’ll want to do ultrasound scans every week until then to make sure the fluid stays where it's at. If you go any lower, then we’d have to do a C section much sooner, but like I said, it’s only a little low. I’m not worried, so you shouldn’t be either. We have you on IV fluids to help your body get a jumpstart and the lab results will be back in a few minutes. This happens sometimes.”
Rain nodded. “Are you sure I’m ok, that the pup’s ok?”
“You and her are both healthy. You should start feeling her move again in the next few hours. Let me give you two a few moments, I’ll go see about your tests.”
She quietly left the room, and once the door closed, Rain began to cry quietly.
“I know she said it’s ok, so I don’t know why I’m crying.” Rain said, wiping his face.
Phayu leaned over him and kissed his forehead. “Because you were scared. Your body needed to let it out now that you know you’re both safe. Cry as much as you need to, sweet boy.”
Rain sat up and hugged Phayu, crying a bit harder. Phayu just held his Omega, rubbing his back and humming a quiet song. After a few minutes, Rain tilted his head back and looked up at Phayu.
“I’m ok now.” He said quietly.
Phayu ran his thumbs gently under Rain’s eyes. “Good timing, I think Doctor Viv was waiting for a minute to come back in.”
Rain looked at the door, and a few seconds later, Doctor Viv knocked before she walked back in.
“I looked in and saw you needed a bit more time. All of your tests are normal.” She sat on the stool beside Rain’s bed and began to carefully remove his IV. “So like I said, just keep taking it easy and drinking plenty of fluids. I’ll adjust your appointment schedule to include the new ultrasound appointments. You’ll see them on your digital schedule by the morning.”
Phayu nodded. “Thank you, doctor. For everything.”
She smiled at both of them as she placed a small bandage where the needle had been in the Omega’s hand. “Of course, nong. Just get your Omega home and make sure he takes it easy, don’t hesitate to come in if this happens again, whether I’m on call or not. Get home safe.” She said before she left the room.
“Let’s go try to get some more rest, especially you.” Phayu said, helping Rain get off the table.
“Yeah, I’m tired. Hopefully everything stays stable and the rest of my pregnancy goes according to plan.” Rain replied around a yawn.

March 4, 2024
“Has everything been alright?” Sky asked as he led Sig into Rain’s bedroom.
“Well, the pup’s moving again, which is great, but I still feel off. I think my body wants me to start my nest, but I don’t know how strenuous that will be.”
Sky nodded. “I started nesting around the same time, so that makes sense. If you’re comfortable with it, you can have P’Phayu help you. I didn’t want P’Pai in there while I made it, but every Omega is different.”
“So I’m not weird for not starting yet? I was starting to think that something was wrong.”
“Most Omegas don’t nest until twenty-five to thirty weeks, so you’re on track and not weird. Well, at least not weird for this.”
“Hey!” Rain yelled, laughing as he threw a pillow at Sky.
“Alright, alright, my pupil, are you ready for your lesson today?” Sig asked.
“I guess. I don’t think I’m very good at science, but let’s get to it.”
“You’re better than you think, I promise.” Sig said as he handed Rain a packet. “Today should be easy for my stuff. Just read the first two pages and then answer the questions. Por will be here in a few hours for your math lesson.”
Rain blew a raspberry before he looked at the packet and began reading.

March 6, 2024
Rain walked slowly into his and Phayu’s bedroom, arms loaded with blankets. He dropped them onto the bed and began rolling some and fluffing others around the perimeter of the bed. He rearranged a few of the blankets, then again, whining when it didn’t feel right.
He marched back into the hallway, opening the linen closet and pulling out a thicker comforter and padding back into their bedroom. He spread it out in the middle, making sure the edges were tucked under the sides of the nest so it would feel like a big hug.
He left the room again, this time going into the nursery and finding a few small stuffed animals; he wanted them scented for the pup’s crib. With them tucked securely in his arms, he slowly wandered the house, picking up a few different throw pillows and only keeping the ones he liked the feeling of.
When he couldn’t carry anymore, he practically waddled back to the bedroom. He dropped the new armful into the center of the nest before he carefully crawled into it, sitting on his knees and arranging the new items where he wanted them.
He felt a sudden wave of contentment wash over him and he yawned. Rain carefully laid down in the middle of the nest, quickly falling asleep.

Rain woke up when he sensed his Alpha near him. He opened his eyes and looked around, finding Phayu sitting in the chair near the bed.
“Hi, P’Phayu.” Rain said, stretching.
“Hi, darling. Your nest looks perfect; cozy and warm.”
The Omega grinned. “You like it? Will you come lay with me?”
Phayu practically purred. “I’d love to.” He said as he carefully climbed into the nest behind Rain, resting an arm over his waist to place his hand on Rain’s belly.
Rain sighed happily. “I haven’t been this comfortable in months. Oh!” Rain grabbed the small plushies and presented them to his Alpha. “Do you think these will be helpful to the pup when she’s in her crib if they are in the nest to soak up our scents for the next couple weeks?”
“I think that’s a perfect idea. Whenever we have her in the crib instead of the nest, I think it will help her to sleep and feel safe.” Phayu answered, kissing the back of Rain’s neck.
Rain hummed and hugged the stuffed animals to his chest, closing his eyes and falling asleep with his Alpha in their nest.
