Chapter Text

The next morning arrived pretty quickly. And by 9.50 am Yotha was out the door. Leaving a sleepy confused Faifa behind with his unanswered questions.

As Yotha stared at the entrance and waited, he wondered if Gun would even come. He had what ifs. He wasn't the one to worry about what ifs normally. But that day he couldn't help himself.

At 10.01, he had given up. But then the door opened. Yotha saw Gun coming out of the door, dressed casually in a t-shirt and jeans. But damn, Yotha's heart skipped a beat.

"Am I late?" Gun asked, pulling Yotha back to reality.

Yotha shook his head instantly. '1... 2 minutes. But, you showed up, that's all that matters.'

No one cares about two minutes delay.

"What do you wanna eat?"

"How about the porridge place next block?" Gun asked.

"Sure." Yotha smiled.

Gun looked at him for a second or two before shaking his head.

"So, shall we?" Gun asked.

They walked to the place and got a table. Apparently Yotha had been to the place ever since the start of the university.

"I don't usually eat breakfast." Gun started while they waited for their order to get ready. "Well, I wake up 30 minutes before my classes so, I don't really have time for that."

"Then you run on empty stomach in the morning?" Yotha asked, concerned.

"I do eat after the first class." Gun mumbled. "I'm not used to having breakfast either. Back at home, I'd just wake up and go out empty. My parents work, my sister is busy too. I basically wake up to an empty house."

'I will make sure to keep you fed from now on.' Yotha made a decision.

"Here's your porridge."

Gun smiled at the bowl. Yotha smiled at the other softly.

"What's your favourite dish?" Yotha casually asked.

Gun looked up at him. "Mm. I don't have one specific favourite. And, I don't have many dislikes either. I don't handle spice well, so that. And, I'm quite picky with seafood. I don't hate it but I don't love everything."

Yotha chuckled. "Well, at least you're sure about your dislikes."

Gun's cheeks flushed as he looked back at his bowl. "Why do you have so many questions?"

Yotha didn't reply. Because he didn't have any answer other than 'Because I like you'. And this is not the correct time to say that.

"Right! Fai said you're a part of this Perfect 10 Liners group." Gun said.

Yotha groaned as he thought about his mentor group. As much as Arm was nice, he was loud.

"Yeah. Too much attention. I just had to be choosen as a part of them huh?"

"You don't look like you enjoy being one of them." Gun pointed out.

"I don't hate my mentors. I just love peace. And being a part of them doesn't bring that." Yotha explained.

Gun chuckled and nodded. "Even without, I don't think you'd be left alone by girls and guys." He muttered.

Yotha smirked. "Yeah? How do you know that?"

"Well, I just have to look at you to know that." Gun shrugged.

___

The next few weeks passed by normal. Except Faifa would show up with snacks out of nowhere in the morning.

'Yotha bought too much.'

'Yotha was feeling generous.'

'Oh, my brother said some people gave them to him.'

And many more reasons.

Gun, somehow, kept thinking back to telling Yotha that he always skips breakfast .

On days Faifa tells them it's gifts from others there are notes. Gun didn't get to read them because Faifa would just tell them they're some weird encouragements.

Today was one of those 'gifts' kinda day.

"Haha- I'd thank whoever these people are that constantly give Yotha gifts. And if also thank Yotha for just giving it to us." Kong grinned, going through the snacks.

"Where did he go?" Franc asked.

"I think P'Arm took him to the auditorium to help set up something." Faifa replied.

Gun caught a note on the box in front of him.

'I will make sure you eat na. Breakfast should always be eaten as it's the first meal of the day.'

Gun blinked at the note. The handwriting was familiar. Gun was 90% sure it was Yotha's. He had seen Yotha's handwriting once, when Faifa had brought Yotha's boom instead of his own. Weirdly, the writing stuck with him. And now, as he looks down at the note, he can see it.

"Is there another note?" Gun asked.

Faifa looked up at him, weirdly. "Yeah. I didn't get time to throw them today."

"Let me see."

Faifa looked on the table and gave him two more things.

'I saw you drink this one from the campus cafe the other day. Is this your favourite?'

Gun remembers seeing Yotha coincidentally in the cafe two days ago. They had greeted each other before Yotha was taken away by his mentor.

'I didn't know if you'd like this. But this is my favourite dish from this place I always go to.'

He could feel his cheeks getting warmer. He stood up, startling the others.

"I'll be back." He said and left.

Now, did he know which auditorium Yotha is in? No. Did he have Yotha's number to call and ask? Also no. Is he still going? Yes.

Gun went straight to the auditorium that is going to be used soon, as he had heard from some seniors in his faculty. There were many people, setting up stalls and decorating. He looked around the hall to look for Yotha. He finally saw Yotha and made his way to the other. Yotha looked bored but his hands still worked on whatever he was doing.

Gun stopped at the stall. Yotha hadn't noticed him but his mentor did.

"Nong, can I help you?" Arm, the mentor asked.

Gun looked at him and shook his head. Yotha had noticed him.

"Gun?" Yotha called. He approached the table and stood in front of Gun. "How come you're here?"

"Yotha." Gun called.

"Yeah?"

Gun paused. He wondered if he should ask what he wanted to ask. There are 50/50 chances of Yotha actually liking him and just being nice.

"Gun?" Yotha called as he watched the other get lost in his head.

Gun looked back at him. "Yeah. Uh- right." He stuttered. Then he took out the notes from his pockets and put them on the table. Gun watched as Yotha's expression changed.

"Fai threw the others. I could only read them today."

Yotha cleared his throat. "Uh- the notes?"

"Apparently they were from your fans. The snacks and notes both."

Yotha blinked. "Right. I didn't think it through."

"So, Yotha." Gun called again. "Do you like me?"

They heard a gasp. Yotha closed his eyes. Arm was listening to them while pretending not to.

"Will anything change if I be honest?"

"You can lie. You have the choice." Gun wanted the truth, it was clear but he still put the choice in front of him.

"I don't hate challenges and risks." Yotha looked confident. "So I'll be honest today too."

Gun waited, behind them Arm stopped his movements too.

"Yes. I like you." Yotha said.

Gun couldn't help but freeze. He didn't know what to do with the information now that it was out.

"Oh." He mumbled. "Are you sure?"

"About my feelings?" Yotha asked and Gun hummed. "I am." He replied.

"And the snacks..." He started again. "You said you skip breakfast that's why I buy too much so that it won't look like I only gave it to you." He explained.

"You thought I won't notice?" Gun questioned.

"I hoped you would. Because seriously no 'fan' is that dedicated to send me snacks every single day."

"Right."

"So, you tell me." Yotha leaned forward. "Should I keep going or should I stop?"

Gun looked at Yotha, at how close he is, at how bold and confident he is.

"Don't waste your money buying so much." Gun started. "I don't eat that much, my friends do."

Yotha waited.

"The dish you were talking about... It looked delicious but I was too surprised by the notes to eat." Gun trailed off, looking directly at him.

Yotha smiled. "I can take you to that place." He stood straight, ready if he said yes.

"I have to get to my class." Gun reasoned.

"Tomorrow?"

"I have afternoon classes."

"So we meet at 10?"

"Okay."

Yotha smiled. Gun chuckled. He raised his hand, giving Yotha head pats just like he did on the first day they met.

"Be good till then." Gun added along with some more head pats.

Yotha was frozen on his spot once again. Gun watched in amusement. He took the notes from the table and said, "I believe these stay with me."

"Bye Yotha." He gave a soft wave. He then looked at Arm. "Bye phi."

"Bye." Arm smiled at him.

Gun left from there, with a loudly beating heart. Yotha came back to reality when he heard a squeal and felt a slight smack on his back.

"You are blushing!" Arm exclaimed.

Yotha cleared his throat and tried to calm himself.

"That is the first time I saw you actually smile." Arm pointed. "And! When were you going to tell me you had a crush? Since when?"

"I saw him at the orientation day." Yotha said with a soft smile. "He was so cute."

"You found someone cute? You?"

Yotha furrowed his eyebrows. "Phi!"

Arm laughed. "Anyways, he's bold."

"He's pretending." Yotha corrected. "He is not bold. But he likes being cool so he acts like it."

Later that day when Faifa finally came back to the dorm, he was met with Yotha's stare. He tried not to think of it because that's just Yotha's face. But as he showered and changed, Yotha was still looking at him.

"How could you do this?" Yotha asked.

Faifa was confused. "What did I do?"

"How can you throw the notes away?"

"What notes?"

"The ones from the snacks I give you." Yotha replied.

"Oh them! Why would I keep them? They ain't for me. You don't even eat the things, then why care about the notes?" Faifa didn't understand why something like that upsets his brother.

"I didn't know you were that heartless." Yotha replied. "Someone had written with care and love."

Faifa scoffed. "Oho~ you are saying that? You are the one who didn't want the snacks in the first place. Where was this emotion then?"

Yotha didn't reply. "Tsk- and I was thinking Gun just doesn't get it. That he was so dense to realise I was doing it for him." He muttered under his breath.

Faifa couldn't hear him, and after the conversation he could not be bothered. He just shrugged it off as 'one of those days' and went to sleep.
